I just installed a vevor on my boat. I LOVE it.I have only had it out a few times. The difference from my old cable system is like day and night! I have it on a 115 Yamaha .
Hey @LeoWhelchel-ug1hd , Thanks for your comment. That's great to hear. and knowing that this item works that well on a 115ho motor is very cool to know. I was thinking that there might be a difference when going higher in HP then mine (60HP), maybe be the steering might feel heavier. But from what you are saying there is no change in performance. Thank you again for sharing. I'm loving mine steering as well.
I'm excited I can't wait to go to hydraulic steering. My steering needs replacing and running hydraulic lines is easy if you tape them well to the steering cable when you pull it through or you can tie a piece of nylon rope to the steering cable when you pull it through then use the rope to pull the hydraulic lines back through. Mounting the steering unit is pretty easy and straight forward. The biggest issue Ive seen is the steering pump may be to big for your old cable steering whole in the console. That can get tricky.
Hey @dwayneroberts6616, If you do not have access to run the lines through your boat, then yes what you just explained is the best way to run the hydraulic lines. I know some boats get really tight for space. Thanks for the tip. stay safe.
Hey @jahnk393ify . Unfortunately I would not be able to give you a straight answer. I you might have to do some research to find out what fluid to use. Every province, state, and country has their own rules on what you can use on your boat. I went to princes auto to their hydraulic section and asked them to help me out. The gentleman there was able to recommend the fluid that I can use as they will be formular with your local laws on this topic.
@@416Expedition hey no sweat! Ive used it for years in all my installs, just put the same Vevor on my new jonboat build and watched your video which was very helpful, cheers!
Hey @@angstrommanagement3016 . That's great to hear that you like it. So far I really enjoying this product and super happy that we got it. I'm glad to hear that you found the video helpful. Thanks again for watching the video and leaving a comment. Stay safe.
As the season is coming to an end, and having quite a bit of miles put on the boat, the steering has been great. This is one of my favorite upgrades to the boat. Super happy with it.
Hey @slagletoby. You are very welcome. This is the second hydrofoil that I am using. The first one was on the other motor before I repowered (Motor swapped) our boat. I am using the "StingRay HydroFoil Classic 2 Senior 40-300 HP" Here's a link: amzn.to/3z85eEx Also here's an install video that I did: Current Content: th-cam.com/video/u4gLFlnepJY/w-d-xo.html Older Content: th-cam.com/video/gFOOgpEK0DU/w-d-xo.html

Is this made with stainless steel components? Looking to get one but I want to be sure it’s suitable for a marine environment.
Hey @tomm5827 thanks for your question. Everything in the kit is stainless steel except the backing plate for the steering wheel pump hope that helps

What hydraulic fluid did you end up going with for the system? Great video thank you!
