as an autistic person, this song resonates with me beyond words. i know that's not what it's originally written about, but to me it is. i was constantly asking myself "was i born with a hole in my heart?" and "maybe born in a storm beneath an angry sky, now it's raining in my head … and i don't know why," before i knew why i felt so alien. paired with the simple catharsis of "we were fucked from the start," and finally the knowledge of “all your best-laid plans couldn’t stop me from becoming the way that i am,” it feels like both a warm hug and a rage room. thank you for writing these :)

It’s a Minecraft series! 3 life system in a death game setting. First two lives are friendly, final life is hostile to other players. Last one standing wins. So it starts off like a normal multiplayer let’s play and slowly devolves into alliances, treachery, and violence. All of the people on the server are pg (mostly, sometimes someone says something that can be taken out of context in the funniest ways) If you like Minecraft let’s plays, I’d say give it a shot. The reason this series has a connection with the crane wives is because the artistic fans in the community make AMVs and animations to crane wives songs. The vibes just fit so well!

The life series is a mcyt (Minecraft TH-cam) series, which currently has five seasons (and an April fools spin off). There is quite a lot of overlap between crane wives fans and life series fans; many people make animatics for the life series using crane wives songs as they fit the series so well. I would totally recommend watching it- it’s sort of an improv comedy version of the hunger games (although everyone has three lives in most seasons), in Minecraft. Hope this helps!

Before these newest songs, I had never cried to a song before, but these genuinely speak to my soul and where I am mentally right now in a way nothing else has and it's pyring my eyes open with a crowbar. I relate to these songs so much and I'm glad I got to hear them before I leave this world.
I am beyond obsessed with the vocals of this band, they're some of the prettiest and most emotional I've ever heard, both elegant and venomous delivery at the same time, able to make nearly every theme compelling and interesting. Definitely a big part to why I fell in love with their music so much.
I'm so excited for yet another incredible teaser for the album! This song is distinctly personal to me because I was *quite literally* born with a hole in my heart. I have borne the scar from it my whole life. I may have a had a struggle from the start, but that doesn't mean I'm broken or worse for it, and this song reminded me of that in a... unexpectedly literal way. I love this as a response to Never Love an Anchor, too. The song had always felt a bit too harsh on the singer: a bit too self-deprecating given the rest of the Crane Wives' discography. But calling back to the follies within it and assuaging the self-guilt of the past is such an incredible message. I can't wait for the premiere!!! P.S. The Crane Wives are hands down my favorite band and I'm really hoping to fly out to see them live! (even if I have to go across the whole country because I missed the summer tour *sob*)

Before these newest songs, I had never cried to a song before, but these genuinely speak to my soul and where I am mentally right now in a way nothing else has and it's pyring my eyes open with a crowbar. I relate to these songs so much and I'm glad I got to hear them before I leave this world.

I am beyond obsessed with the vocals of this band, they're some of the prettiest and most emotional I've ever heard, both elegant and venomous delivery at the same time, able to make nearly every theme compelling and interesting. Definitely a big part to why I fell in love with their music so much.

I'm so excited for yet another incredible teaser for the album! This song is distinctly personal to me because I was *quite literally* born with a hole in my heart. I have borne the scar from it my whole life. I may have a had a struggle from the start, but that doesn't mean I'm broken or worse for it, and this song reminded me of that in a... unexpectedly literal way. I love this as a response to Never Love an Anchor, too. The song had always felt a bit too harsh on the singer: a bit too self-deprecating given the rest of the Crane Wives' discography. But calling back to the follies within it and assuaging the self-guilt of the past is such an incredible message. I can't wait for the premiere!!!
P.S. The Crane Wives are hands down my favorite band and I'm really hoping to fly out to see them live! (even if I have to go across the whole country because I missed the summer tour *sob*)
