I tried the one in the store and was very happy with the confort. Bought one and went backpacking. Sadly the sleeping pad I bought could not hold its air at all, not even for an hour in its first use. I'm returning it today, still debating if replacing it for the same one.
Though it's doubtful it would damage the insulation on the inside, it would be subject to crushing or punctures when used as a backpack frame. The intended use of the pad is only for sleeping.
I have this Sea to Summitt pad. I want to combine this air pad with the thermarest z lite sol pad. Just to add R-value in colder temps. Would these two combinations of pads be worth it for cold weather camping? What's the R value of this Sea to Summitt air pad?
I was very disappointed with it. Nowhere near as supportive as I expected. Very easy to ground out on it, in comparison to my far cheaper unigear air mat, which although not as good R rating, is far more comfortable.
I would have been impressed if you had actually shown how to re pack it. You certainly don’t do so by the way the girl in the video suggests by rolling it full width open.
Nice comprehinsive review. Well done.Thank you.

Do you know if I fold it as rectangle and pack as a frame of the backpack, can cause a damage on the insulated membrane inside the pad?

Can I also use it in summer or is it too warm because of the insulation?
Great question! With a 3.1 R-Value, Sea to Summit considers this a 3 season pad, which generally refers to later spring, summer, and early fall.

So many choices, so little time. And money......
