That section of Castaic Lake is very bumpy! Definitely past the dead end you get to some great driving sections. If you didn’t know, If you take that exit where I presume the dead end was, you will get to another area of road which has some good driving sections, but definitely more traffic. “San francisquito road”
I think that's the greatest thing about the Huracan platform: it's not always loud and obnoxious, you can put it in auto like you said and just cruise and listen to music with the AC on like you're in any other car, barring the people who will be hanging out their windows with their cellphones trying to get pictures while on the highway. But once you flip that switch on the wheel to Trofeo, the gloves come off and it's a whole 'nother animal.
Thank you for having a video sponsor that offers a product that is useful to the audience. Yea, this car is white knuckle. This is what a Lamborghini should be.
That was a minor "code brown" moment there with cold tires lol. I'd really wanna know which one of these class of cars would you pick for some extensive track usage? This, AMG GT BS, GT2RS, 765 and the Pista perhaps? It's a seriously tough pick that one
I don't think GT2RS is even close tbh based on the comparisons I've seen to the GT BS, it's probably GT Black Series or this. 765LT is insanely quick, but from what I understand it's really still a street car first. Senna is pretty insane, but that one is also a lot more expensive lol. The Pista doesn't seem very compromised by comparison, so I'd assume that's not hardcore enough to be in the running either.

I remember when the Performante was released, how insane that car seemed. Just goes to show the impressive progression that the Huracan has undergone throughout the years.

@@8draco8 to say that every gas station has gas can for sale is simply not true. The whole point of this is that it’s small and convenient, something you’ll forget about in your car and use in emergencies. Also, who wants to carry around a loud ass can like that making noise in the trunk? Hard to see how it’s not a great idea.
Love the STO and against the AMG Black Series that's a hard pick and I would struggle to choose. I think if I went to the track more I would pick the Mercedes. However if it was mainly Canyons and such the STO would be my choice.
Not a fan of the red parts of the exterior but man this thing looks so much better in a solid color than the 2 tone press car. When I first saw the blue/orange one I thought it looked silly, but in all black it looks mean af.
What do you mean exactly? Road homologation describes the process for certifying a car as road-legal in a specific country/region. Homologation for race cars is the same for those within a specific set of regulations which racing series use. Homologation basis describes the road-going vehicle a GT or touring race car is built from and needs to share certain parts with - those aren't always publicly known but examples would be the 911 GT3 or RS for the GT3 R or RSR, or the general Huracan for the Huracan GT3. In case of this STO the name is really more of a marketing exercise suggesting "bringing the race car to the street" when really it is a special model of the road car trimmed for the track and neither served as the basis for the existing Super Trofeo race car (though it might be for the upcoming 2022 version), nor has that much in common with the race car other than the basic chassis and some body panels. As much as this may feel like a race car for regular people, suspension, brakes, engine management, fuel system, exhaust, aero, interior are all different (and have to be, since most motorsport parts are not tested for and certified for road use).
@@JMartinni Spot on. The only homologation car on the market right that I can think of is the Toyot Yaris GR. They needed 25000 units sold to use it as a platform for their WRC car, and is well and truly a street-rally car that doesn't share almost anything with the regular version. That's a true homologation car, this is just an Italian marketing stunt, which obviously worked as they are sold out before official announcmennt.
Sounds incredibly similar to a Super Trofeo or GT3 both engine and shifting sounds. I think mine would be pretty close to track only we’re i getting one.

On these production, high power cars, I wonder how much power actually make it to the ground, through the traction control etc. So many times, we see Mat blow the tires off through 3rd w/traction/whatever control off, when you turn the computers back on, at what point/speed do the computers say "yeah, you can have all the power now."
One of the biggest accomplishments Lamborghini did as well with the STO is drop weight, 95 lbs lighter than the Performante! It's a real driver's car and taking race car technology to the street.
I don't want to be picky, but, I think Lamborghini should opt for a proper racing seat and harnesses. Probably it will lower the seating position, too. After all it is a track car.
