I have a oil vacuum Extractor will it get 99 percent of oil out ? If the car is jacked up in the front it would make sense it would no completely drain. Why I'm asking if the vacuum pump extraction works better?
When I opened the box to the filter for my S5 the first time I was like, "Uh, someone forgot to assemble this". The joys of German engineering. Still prefer the no-drip filter on my old VW CC.
trebor19418 here they want almost the same amount, but I got Castro edge and Mann filter for under 60 bucks for my oil change, is no different than any other car tbh.
I’ve taken my Audi S4 to get an oil change recently, and ever since I had taken it in. I’ve noticed oil on the ground. And to keep in mind that it had never leaked oil ever.
The best part of the oil change on the 3.0 is the top mounted filter. I change the filter one time before a change. The only engine I know of that you can do that on. Why not use a Mityvac pump to remove the oil from the "dipstick?" I can change the oil and filter in under 20 minutes that way.
The newer Subaru engines also have top mounted filters. Even easier too as they’re not media based, but fully enclosed cartridge type. Spin off, spin on.
What are your thought of using the vacuum method of the oil out of the top. I have been doing that on my a7. Dealer said they do it that way also. When I asked which was better they said either way because the filter catches any debris your thoughts.
My same question. I used it on my Volvo c30 with good results. Seems alot easier than jacking the front of the car up and not actually getting a full drain. Glad I got my pump vacuum oil extraction oil pump. Not very cheep but well worth it.
The description has a bunch of dead links. I understand most people already have a 36mm for axle nuts, as that's in my large socket drawer, but I'd like to know how much the belly pan screws or the dipstick are.
Just did my 2012 S4 oil change. Went with Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 5w30 as I had extra from my Stage 2+ WRX. It meets all the specs required. I also added 300ml of Liqui Moly MOS2 Engine treatment and used a fluid extractor which sucked the pan dry, I put in 6.3 litres to register perfect on dipstick and MMI system. All good to go now at 50k:)
Repeat every 2000-3000 miles. You act like it's a once in a lifetime event to change your oil. Don't wait 5000-10000 miles unless you're trying to kill your motor.
Do you need to replace the drain plug every time with the oil change? I do my services every half interval and Audicare takes care of the yearly service. I don't replace my drain plug but notice they do each service.
Loved the video but dislike the oil selection, Motul has a low heat resistance have tried it twice with bad results. First in a 7500 mile oil change interval had to refill with two more quarts but when using before and after Castrol and Pentosin didn't need to add a drop at the same OCI. Second time I used Motul 75w-140 in my PTU and it burned very fast it nearly blew my PTU thank God I noticed a strange noise and pulled over. After that I put in Redline 75w-140 and haven't had issues. So I wouldn't recommend that anyone should use Motul if you don't want to keep refilling and wasting money, sometimes is not your engine that's burning oil it might be the oil that your using.
Im confused because the Audi website says this engine is on the 508.00 standard which is a 0w-20 oil... www.audiusa.com/content/dam/audiusa/Documents/MyAudi/audi-2017-oil-and-fuel-brochure%20.pdf
I Just picked up a s4 b8 and they claimed they put in castrol edge but I couldn't check the oil because it didn't come with a dip stick, Today I Finally got a dip stick after 500 miles and the oil looks dirty, is that normal? all the other cars the oil always looks clean for a long time, I'm thinking I might just redo it.
I did my oil change myself on my 2018 Audi S4 and now the system is telling me that I am at max oil level and i need to drain my oil. Also, now the car would not go into drive without warning signs? Whats you suggest.
If you get the dipstick DO NOT keep it in the tube. The plastic piece will become brittle and break off in the tube. Keep the plug in the tube. Im paying the price. Learning how to drop the pan if it dosent come out in oil change
Great video. Thank you. I'm looking at buying a 2015 Q7 Sline with the 3.0 TFSI engine. It only has 39,000 miles. Overall, the car is super clean but it seems like the internal engine parts I can see through the cap hole are way more reddish/varnished looking than I would expect. Although it runs great, the owner doesn't have service records. It may just be how these look. This is the only Audi I've ever checked out. They're not common where I live so I can't just stop in somewhere and have a look. I just don't want to buy a poorly-serviced vehicle. I'm sure you know what the internals should look like. Is reddish/varnished ok or a dead give away for poor oil maintenance? Every other (non audi) car I've ever looked in has clean (oily) metal parts visible through the hole.
Moti 604 also install a Fumoto oil drain plug way better just flick the ball switch. Used in last two vehicles and in my 15 WRX w top mount super accessible oil filter it was awesome.
Fluid extractor is nice to have and do maybe every other oil change. Reason is because it does not extract all the dirt/buildup/shavings (if any). When you drain it from the bottom, you are ensuring the above is being drained out with the oil.
It’s not completely without one...they come with a plastic plug in the dipstick tube opening. You can simply buy one, pull the plug, and drop it in. Just bought one myself as I did not want to rely on the sensor. But why they did not just include one, beats me!
You could damage the motor if you use too thin of an oil, like 20 weight, if it was intended to use 40 weight oil like my Audi S4 is. A thinner oil generally doesn't protect as well against metal on metal wear as a heavier oil, but can be necessary for various reasons. The number before the "w" just indicates the "winter" or cold viscosity before the oil is warmed up, relative to the oil weight (20, 30, or 40.) Too thick of an oil (if you used 90 weight gear oil for example,) would not splash around and penetrate enough to lubricate all the bearings and other surfaces that need oil. If it says "0w" before the oil weight, such as "0w40" that means it's the same weight when it's cold as when it's warmed up. It will be a much thinner oil in the jug at room temperature than 5w40 or 10w40. When warmed up they will be the same.
Please help! I had my oil changed 2 weeks ago. After about a week and a half I noticed that I had a leak. I took it back to the shop and they found it was the sump plug leaking. They drained the oil and put on a new washer and filled it with fresh oil for free. I hoped that was the end of it however today I found that it is leaking again. I took it back to the shop and they told me to bring it in tomorrow morning. He's confused and doesnt know why its leaking. He said he replaced the washer with a new one of the same size, material etc (I think he said it was Brass). Does anyone know why it's leaking? Has he stripped the bolt/sump or is there another reason? Cheers.
Where is it leaking from, front or back? Maybe check to see if the oil filter was inserted correctly, theres a possibility it could be leaking from the oil filter being installed incorrectly.

But I like the b8.5 the most out of the current options (as a best overall considering price maintenance and fun) I personally love the supercharger and would never get a later model because of that. The engines are supposedly very reliable. Realistically you are either going to be paying more for a new car with no problems in the beginning, or preventive maintenance and a couple repairs on a used car. However the design of the 8.5 imo is worth preserving. Good design is timeless and this car has and will age well.
aidsimo I would buy it if you can afford it, (another reason b8.5 is good choice, they are getting cheaper. Expect around 40k (20k for car and 20k potential maintenance) but it should be a nearly new car after that regardless of mileage)
Ordered the dipstick with the part # 06E-115-611-H in his link above for my 2010 Audi S4 and it works great and its accurate.would recommend if you need one.
Really, my 2013 s4 needs 6.8l, I'm in Australia, maybe our cars have a deeper sump. Or maybe if you swap over the oil filter that holds 300 mil so I'm guessing thats were our differences varie.
Oil is sold by the quart in the USA. The oil capacity is 6.8 liters, probably without filter if it's like most factory specs. So yes, around 7 liters. Quit whining. I'm guessing you'll never do your own oil change anyhow.
@@tcolondovich2996 I own an Audi with the 3.0L supercharged (CAJA) engine and have done over a dozen oil/filter changes with most scrupulous care. The engine oil capacity is from the owner's manual and always confirmed by the factory fitted dipstick.
That engines are working in much higher temperatures than usualy and they need really good quality oils. Only PAO\Ester based oils have high enought high temperature resistance. HC-Synthese mineral oils like that Motul are coking and leave that orange\brown sludge inside of engine and a lot of carbon deposits in hottest engine places like piston rings. Thats not a good idea to use poor quality oil like this for this type of engines. That cars requires low SAPS oils as well. That MOTUL is a Full SAPS oil and kills the catalyst faster. I have no idea how it's possible that someone who have no idea about engines and oils can give advices.

Ordered the dipstick with the part # 06E-115-611-H in his link above for my 2010 Audi S4 and it works great and its accurate.would recommend if you need one.
tried same part # on Amazon DONT BUY it breaks
@@connerbilinski6750 so buy it from Amazon instead?
Merci
Thoses expensive screw for the belly pan y can buy a bag of the them for less than 10euro and the same as the Audi ones
I USED 5W30 WHY U USED 5W40 ?
Probably because Audi specs say to use 5w40. Maybe you should follow directions. Using too thin of an oil provides less protection for your motor.
It takes 6.5L of engine oil. Not 7litre! >>nicht überfüllen!!
Really, my 2013 s4 needs 6.8l, I'm in Australia, maybe our cars have a deeper sump. Or maybe if you swap over the oil filter that holds 300 mil so I'm guessing thats were our differences varie.
I was about to post that. 7 US Quarts is correct.
Just did mine yesterday, 7 quarts, then the next day the mmi said I was a tad bit low. I checked the dipstick, it was fine. 2010 s4
$11 per screw. You weren't kidding
That's why they sponsor things like this. Nobody would pay $11 per screw unless they were trying to support this channel.
nigga didn’t even say the torque spec???
Not the best choice on the oil .. I’d go with AMS oil , in every test came on top of everyone. Motul is overrated
Pinto Motul is great oil, as is Amsoil. Tomato, potato.
Will the dipstick linked on this video fit 2013 s5?
