I used to postcross years ago but haven't done it for probably 10+ years. Now I have a young son in Kindergarten so maybe I will start postcrossing again to teach him about the world.
That sounds like a fun family activity
Received a card from you plus some additional goodies last year. Thank you! As a somewhat seasoned Postcrosser, I think this video provides excellent advice to newbies to the hobby.
Oh that is wonderful that you got a card from me. Thank you for letting me know and for watching the video.
Remember to write your ID# at the top of the card. US post office runs a barcode at the bottom that would obscure the number. BCW storage boxes have postcard sizes with lids.
Very good advice as well
When I did postcrossing I would write the ID in a couple different places just in case it got damaged on the card somehow from the postal service.
I've done that a few times depending on my OCD that day lol.@@babyjenks1784
I am new to Postcrossing - thanks a million!
You are very welcome and I am sure you will enjoy the hobby
Great information! Thank you for sharing😀
You are welcome
Great video and information!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you. Hope you are getting many cards
I am taking some time to watch historical videos. :) ChatGPT fascinates me. I had a long philosophical discussion with him/her/it the other day and was very impressed. An interesting and knowledgeable "person" to have a conversation with. Wonder where it is going to in future. Thanks for the interesting video, Rob!
It was my pleasure
It’s interesting I saw this video first before the other one- but I did watch both. It’ll be interesting to see how things have changed by the time my son is in school.
Also with the forums I actually wouldn’t have thought to go to them if Rene hadn’t done a video about how to do a Round Robin. I love the RR group I’m in :)
Thank you for watching and I found it an interesting topic to make.
Also, recheck your card to make sure you included registration #. I wrote out 3 last night. Next morning I checked, lo and behold, I neglected to write the registration #. Whew!!
Very good point. Must be sure all info there
Thank you :D
You are welcome
Do you have to register also where do get the stamp stamper many thanks. Mark Sutton
You sign up for postcrossing at postcrossing.com
I bought my logo stamper online if that is what you are asking.
Several times I got a message via PCing from a sender that it has been several months, could you register the card. I don't. I've been in that same situation where the recipient didn't get my card. I send another one with a 2nd attempt written on the card. If they don't register it, I check to see last time they were on PC. If it was a day or a week, then I assume their mail service isn't up to scratch.
Yeah I have had a few go missing
Lo and behold, I got the one from IT, y-day, sent in Sept. Holiday season but what went on Sept thru Halloween? Probably stuck bottom of a mail hod.@@thatdadguy1974
I found the video about ChatGPT fascinating! It's always interesting to see how humans interact with AI technologies and how AI can replicate human language patterns to facilitate more natural conversations. The advancements in natural language processing have opened up new possibilities for chatbots, customer service, and even language translation. I'm thrilled to see how AI continues to evolve and enhance human communication. - this comment was created by Chat GPT - I use it sometimes to formulate my sentence in a correct way, since i'm not an english speaker.
Nice that AI can make translation easier as well.
I have several New Brunswick postcards, are you interested?
Are you from New Brunswick as well? Are you a postcrosser?
How do get names & addresses of people to send to. Or
You get official postcrossing addresses from the site when you click send a card. If you are looking for people to direct swap with you can try going on the forum and joining groups or you can search under specific countries to message people directly who have their preferences set for direct swap
Can this be adapted to digital? I live in the US. They raised the letter stamp price from 68c to 73c.
That would defeat the purpose to go to emails
Don't write the US-###### near the bottom of the card. USPS runs a barcode at the bottom. Check the recipients requests. If it is naughty in with legit requests, send them a respectable card like your city.
Very good advice
Sometimes there are Creepers in any hobby. On a nice side. There was a Russian girl in her early teens who on occasion sent me stamps and brief correspondence. I would send her stamps and a short note. I told her in the note to let her parents know. p-crossing had and has + things. i got ground coffee from a German lady because i drink coffee in the morning. I traded with a woman postcards of Pittsburgh for her Flatiron Bldg. cards. If other of your subscribers or commenters are wondering how to store their cards, BCW storage boxes will solve their storage problem. @@thatdadguy1974
Thank you.@@thatdadguy1974
I'm retired now looking for a hobby but my handwriting terrible that putting me off from sending cards
You can always type your message and glue it to a card. Many do that as well
@@thatdadguy1974 thanks that's a good idea
The easiest way to improve your handwriting is diary. Just write it every day trying to make it readable. After a few weeks you will write better. Practice is the key.
P.S. Some recommend to use a fountain pen, but it is the whole world itself and could become a separate hobby.
Americans usually hold the pen in a crazy way BTW. So you'd better check your grip first.
