this is absolutely beautiful. If I ever got my hands on a '34 (or 36) ford that was this straight and nice, i'd throw a chair in there and drive it as is. nice, clean swooping lines and all. i love it :D
So good to hear... just keep it clean, tuned, and leave it original. Beautiful car ! I have a 35 Ford 3W, in black primer... pretty much same condition. I can't get myself to fool with it !
I feel like i've commented on this video before but man, this car is so gorgeous! I'd drive it pretty much as it is. sounds awesome and looks like it's in great shape!
WOW! My Dads first car was similar to this, but I think it was a '32 with a rumble seat. He would have loved to see this video, but He passed away five years ago yesterday.... :o( Back in those days, Ford said you could have any color you wanted...as long it was black!
As long as it doesn't become a mantle piece, it should be fine. But, a car is made to drive, so drive it a little or a lot, but drive it because that is why Henry built it. Hot rod or not, old Henry would be proud to know there are so freaking many old Fords once again carrying people to wherever they want to go, fast or slow, Chevy engines or not.
That is a beautiful design. Your video presented it tastefully and at just the right presentation. Thank you. I'm looking at buying a 1930 A model Sedan, 4 doors, but I think I have the 1934 on my list for later.
Let's hope that this car stays this way. Too many have been "hot-rodded" over the yrs to the point where they no longer resemble the car they used to be.
All 33-34 closed cars had suicide doors, even the roadsters and phaetons, but not trucks. You are right about the 34 grille, too. As a deluxe model, it would have two taillights, two visors, cowl lamps, and two chromed snailhorns.
Nice running flattie. 3 window cause there isnt any quarter windows behind the door windows. Ill never change out my flathead out of my 49 2 door for a chevy crate never happening. 3 on the tree overdrive has no problem in traffic
Back in the early to mid 60s I saw a good many of these cars sell for $200-500 and even then I never had money at the right time. It really gets me hot to see people cutting these up or doing a banker restoration and spending 100k plus after overpaying for the car. Stuff like that is why people can afford to actually drive one on the street.
Well I'm A GM guy through & through, but, hey, that is an excellent find! And you know some call this '33+'34 style the first muscle car that you could really apply that label to.
A Chevy small block fits in the engine bay of early Fords without having to cut the firewall in many cases. The small block Fords are really great engines, but the water pumps were way too long, and this made it necessary to set the entire engine back into the cab area. I don't know where you live, but read a Street Rodder, Rod & Custom, Rodder's Journal, etc. and you will see mucho, many lazy rodders. THAT is our hot rod world, Bud.
that motor would look kickass all painted up. NICE FIND ! that's pretty dam nice aww window's busticated. Pooo ! : ( 17 ?? wow that's barely broken in..... very cool ! wow that's gonna be a pretty sweet ride when you get done with it.
All 33-34 Ford passenger cars had suicide doors, all except trucks. The grille on the 33 matched the slight curve of the louvers in the side panels which had a single latch centrally located. The 34 grille and louvers were straight, with two latches on each side. All the front doors of each year had a web on the rear of the doors so the side glass would roll up and then back.
Some people enjoy driving old fords across town and maybe across the country. That is why WE install a modern engine, automatic/o.d. trans, A/C, factory-style tinted glass, and radial tires. So, quit your bitchin and join me for as long a ride as you want. Cars are made to drive, not sit in a garage and have people admire the dust and rust.
We found a 47 Mercury sitting since 1964 in a Barn. Had dual Strombergs and headers from back in the 50's when he drove it and have all the paperwork history of it for sale now on my page.
Can you give some background of where it was found? Sat in the garage of an elderly person for many years, and estate sale? In the 1970's the was a very old lady in my town who drove around daily a 1929 Cadillac sedan because her deceased husband bought it new for her. She was offered big bucks plus a new Cadillac by collectors, but she always turned it down for sentimental reasons. Years later she died and I don't know what became of the car.
This could be the kind of car dealer that sells you a rusty run down Ford F150 built 1999 with 400.000 miles on the dash for your last hard earned money - and you drive out of his dealership proud like a king..... But nevertheless.....great video
i agree, keep it original except, drop it on its guts, chop 4'' out of the roof and give it hydraulic brakes, tripple 94 carbies, zephyr gearbox, and satin black paint.yep orininal, maybe throw the gaurds and running boards in the bin,put 15 '' wires with big, smalls, and a flame job...original rod...cool
only problem with the flathead V8 was when people left water in them and the blocks cracked..I have found a lot of them that fired right up with no work at all after sitting for decades,,sounds great then it starts steaming out the exhaust. ..I have one that's not cracked,,s 50 mercury flathead V8. .
in the hot rod world it is very 'cool' to have a chevy power train. in the hot rod world it is all about making good power and simplicity. ford had such a wide variation of engines it makes it hard to find parts let alone modify it all the different experimental engines ford had made them a lot of the time weaker. it makes all the sense in the world to go with chevy power easy to find part to modify and stronger.. however i realize that this is different in the resto world...
You won't be keeping up with the hotrods that have overhead engines and maintain, say 75 MPH. You won't have the A/C running while WE are enjoying 50's tunes, keeping that pesky road noise out with our slighty tinted, safety-plate glass, cruising quietly down the road. OH, HELL, MAN. CAN I RIDE WITH YOU ? Just kidding ! ! Have fun, and maybe see you there.
im not sure i would do anything to this car. i think whoever the owner would be, if they got it in drivable condition or trailered it to car shows or cruise ins they would get more conversation than if they restored it to original condition or built a street rod out of it. it's my all time favorite hot rod but i couldn't appreciate it more than the way it is.
+Connor Waits I have original 34 Chevy Sedan original barn find Complete. I did replace interior wood was good. prefer driving my chopped Chevy coupe Street Rod. That Sedan will go before MY CHOPPED COUP Street Rod.
Well in terms of practically yeah sure, but from a historical standpoint restoring this would be a sin. once a historical car is molested you can't undo it.
silverbird58 has not turned over , there were few decent roads in the 30s and 40s 30,000 mile on these old cars was considered a lot . They drove these on section lines and open fields . Even most of the 60s early 70s stuff only went 80,000 to 120,000 when they did have highways and good roads . People forget it was not until the late 80s and 90s that cars made a few hundred thousand
thankfully its gonna be kept original! Im sick of seeing these hotrods and custom crap. Soon, originality is going to be so hard to find. Thats why I cant stand these tv shows like counting cars, fast n loud and overhaulin'. cars should be left alone and kept original
when I was a kid in the U.P,, I had to ride laying across the shelf behind the seat, don't forget to take care of the unleaded gas problem...btw, don't be so loud, makes you sound like a salesman in yellow checkered sport coat :) that could be 117,000miles :)
haaaaaaaa , these 20s and 30s cars never made it to 1000, 000 miles . they just whore out way before that . they were very crude ,9 gears grind , bad oil and gas compared to today ) and they were driven on bad roads and through fields , they were only a few good roads . what do think they came with cell phones too ! you won't find these cars with 90,000 miles on the odometer . not an original .
I wish car manufacturers would make cars that looked like this today. I love these 30's style cars.
Its so clean and original, I would keep it that way.
Yeah! it' s a real pleasure to see an unmodified 34 ford, that won't be hotroded. Beautiful !
this is absolutely beautiful. If I ever got my hands on a '34 (or 36) ford that was this straight and nice, i'd throw a chair in there and drive it as is. nice, clean swooping lines and all. i love it :D
fords are the toughest things, like theres some sort built in will that makes them keep going, its amazing
Thank god. So pleased to see this will be preserved & not chopped into a hotrod with a 350 chevy.
I hope she found a great home.and wasn't chopped into a hot rod.
Clyde Barrow would be proud of you.
What a beautyful 34! Awesome!!!
one of the best looking cars ever made
Look at the blue V8s still on the hubcaps. I love early Ford V8s!
WoW!!
Why can't I find one like this for myself :-(
Maybe I'll get one for Christmas THIS year!
Thanks for sharing!!!
that motor would look kickass all painted up. NICE FIND !
WOW! My Dads first car was similar to this, but I think it was a '32 with a rumble seat. He would have loved to see this video, but He passed away five years ago yesterday.... :o( Back in those days, Ford said you could have any color you wanted...as long it was black!
Amazing untouched 34 Ford Coupe..., I'm Drooling =p~
the car went to texas , not gonna restore , they are just gonna make it an orig driver
Classic cars rule ... I have a few videos of these beautiful cars at a classic car parade !!! Such lovely sounds
I've loved these cars ever since i saw the movie the California kid back in the 70's
As long as it doesn't become a mantle piece, it should be fine. But, a car is made to drive, so drive it a little or a lot, but drive it because that is why Henry built it. think ZZTOP eliminator when it was first found!
I love old ford v-8's
Henry's legacy! next to the model T, of course
That is a beautiful design. Your video presented it tastefully and at just the right presentation. Thank you.
I'm looking at buying a 1930 A model Sedan, 4 doors, but I think I have the 1934 on my list for later.
JUST PLAIN BEAUTIFUL GREAT FIND MAN
Let's hope that this car stays this way. Too many have been "hot-rodded" over the yrs to the point where they no longer resemble the car they used to be.
A piece of art. Don´t touch, please, all that is finded!
YESS...this is a real barn find.......lucky you
All 33-34 closed cars had suicide doors, even the roadsters and phaetons, but not trucks. You are right about the 34 grille, too. As a deluxe model, it would have two taillights, two visors, cowl lamps, and two chromed snailhorns.
Here's my take. The 34 ford 3/window coupe'and the 34 plymouth 3 window coupe' were and are the "CREME D'CREME.Strictly top shelf.
Nice running flattie. 3 window cause there isnt any quarter windows behind the door windows. Ill never change out my flathead out of my 49 2 door for a chevy crate never happening. 3 on the tree overdrive has no problem in traffic

I hope you preserved it as is. This is the wrong car to restomod
I'm sick! Great find
In the 80's I found a 1939 Olds Business Coupe in a old garage in Minn. It Was in similar condition to this car.
Never ever thought I'd say this : Keep it as it is.
you sure made it sound valuable oh and the music just compliments your pitch
Nice original car. Keep it original
Oh my god!!! Very very beautiful car!!! I am very interested!!! Thank you for your nice video!!! The car is sold ??? Best regards!!!
let us know when it is al re finished, love to see this in new like condition.....my dad was born in 1932......be enteresting
I believe all 3 window coupes made 32-34 had suicide doors. The angle of the front doorjamb dictates that.
Love that sound.
I was wondering, did you change the oil at least before you started it ???
that motor would look kickass all painted up. NICE FIND ! that's pretty dam nice
aww window's busticated. Pooo ! : (
17 ?? wow that's barely broken in..... very cool !
wow that's gonna be a pretty sweet ride when you get done with it.
Sweet and Complete
I love barn find :-))
Great car!
make it mechanically sound, and drive it as is...
beautiful car
She's a beaut!

only original once, put a seat in it and drive it
Thanks. Real nice car.
Just curious? To a collector, what is this 34 coupe worth in that original condition?
Or what did it sell for?
Looks like the one the guys from Hotrod Hunt found back in 2011
Bonnie and Clyde drove a ford flat head because it was the fast motor during the day
Nothing sounds like a Ford V8
I smell ZZ Top......This is the holy grail of hot rods !!!
Wasn't this Clyde Barrows favorite car during the Bonnie and Clyde days in the 30's?
Some people enjoy driving old fords across town and maybe across the country. That is why WE install a modern engine, automatic/o.d. trans, A/C, factory-style tinted glass, and radial tires. @hobbyshopfargo wow, that is just incredible, where did you find it?
what was the high bid? Is it still for sale?
Amen, The Holy Grail , You said, "not everyday", I say, "not every century", Don't have to ask if you sold it.
to each his own
LOVE IT
We found a 47 Mercury sitting since 1964 in a Barn. Had dual Strombergs and headers from back in the 50's when he drove it and have all the paperwork history of it for sale now on my page.
Great barn find! Might it possibly be a '37? I'm trying to remember the history of FoMoCo's Mercury division...
Ours is a '47 with 40,000 miles on it, I have the video of it's rescue on my youtube page
Barn Find Chubby!!!
Can you give some background of where it was found? Sat in the garage of an elderly person for many years, and estate sale? I would make it my daily driver as is !
FantaZ4U,
1934, 33 had 1 hood latch handle in the center, changed to one on each end in 34.
No. It is a 34 3-window deluxe coupe. Find of a century ! ! !
how much do you want for this car is it for sale and how much I am intrested if you can get back to me as soon as you can
Esto es una joya de la abuela. Hay que respetarla.
If this car ever come up for sale, please let me know
Wish I could find one like that
i agree, keep it original except, drop it on its guts, chop 4'' out of the roof and give it hydraulic brakes, tripple 94 carbies, zephyr gearbox, and satin black paint.yep orininal, maybe throw the gaurds and running boards in the bin,put 15 '' wires with big, smalls, and a flame job...original rod...cool
What'd you have to give for it...?

This car is currently up for sale on Ebay under 34 ford 3 window barn find ! Auction ending Jan 1 2012

Well in terms of practically yeah sure, but from a historical standpoint restoring this would be a sin. once a historical car is molested you can't undo it.
a WOW car. Backround music is ?
Will you take $300 for it?
Ol' flathead ford. They like to run hot though. It needs a 351 windsor!
wouldent mind drivin it around as is well externaly atleast
And you don't believe that odometer has turned over at least a few times before within the last 100 years?
The car sure looks and sounds as if it did.

I thought all of the closed 1933-4 cars had suicide doors? And the cowl lights on this one suggest a deluxe. The grille is '34 spec. not '33
when I was a kid in the U.P,, I had to ride laying across the shelf behind the seat, don't forget to take care of the unleaded gas problem...btw, don't be so loud, makes you sound like a salesman in yellow checkered sport coat :)
that could be 117,000miles :)
granskare I agree I'd say after nearly 80 years 117,000 is more probable, and looking at the interior condition probably makes the most sense
haaaaaaaa , these 20s and 30s cars never made it to 1000, 000 miles . they just whore out way before that . they were very crude ,9 gears grind , bad oil and gas compared to today ) and they were driven on bad roads and through fields , they were only a few good roads . what do think they came with cell phones too ! you won't find these cars with 90,000 miles on the odometer . not an original .
Bonnie and Clyde were killed in a 34 Ford.
I hope you changed the oil before you cranked that up, or at least changed the oil soon after..
I would hate to see someone turn this into a hot rod.
very sweet do you want to sell it????
Beauty
You said it. Nothing irritates me more than seeing any Ford product with a GD Chevy motor in it! Please leave this car stock.
