hello everyone 🌱 around 17:30 , the audio and the video seemed to have had a glitch during the exporting process and it looks weird a bit but it thankfully doesn’t effect the instructions in the video . i added a youtube library audio track to it because it had TV static sounds that is a bit of a jump scare so i apologize if that part is weird

I found your channel by mistake and I stayed because of your content. You making that cardigan made me want to try and learn crochet again. My mom, who has crocheted longer than I've been alive, has tried to teach me countless times but I've always given up (I couldn't figure out granny square). And now, I'm trying again.
I've created a journal of my own - it has notes on hook sizes, stitches, and their abbreviations, the us to uk stitch equivalent key code, as well as things that I would like to make. And it is thanks to your videos for helping me want to try again. Thank you.
The bottoms you've made are all amazing. Great job with them. I wish you luck with your shop.

I love the designs!! It’s super cool to see how you use granny squares outside of shirts and totes like most folk!! I dunno if it’d help, but TLYC has a granny square tutorial that lets you seam as you go so you wouldn’t have to sew all of them together at the end!

This tutorial helped me SO MUCH! I am so excited to finish my pants! the only thing is (and this is probably a me thing you explained it better than anyone else dw) the first step of the granny squares, the little circles, when I pull the middle closed there is still a hole in the center. Sometimes the hole is big and sometimes it's not even there (which is good, I don't want holes in it lol) but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong when there is a hole, or what I'm doing right when there isn't one. Do you have any advice or tips to help?
Again this video is SUPER HELPFUL, I love how clear and easy it was to follow as a total noob.

Here is the written version in an easier way, IMO, for the granny square pants:
    1. Make an adjustable magic ring and chain three. Go back into the ring and add two more double crochets. Chain two. Make three more double crochets and chain two. Repeat this two more times for a total of four clusters. Join to top of the first chain with a slip stitch, chain one, and cut. Pull the string tight and close the ring.
    2. Change colors (watch the video and make sure to weave in the ends as you go) in a chain two space and chain three. Double crochet two times into the space. Chain two. Go back into the same space and double crochet three more times. Chain one. Go to the next corner and repeat by double crocheting three times, chaining two, and double crocheting three more times. Repeat around the square. Join to top of chain with a slip stitch, chain one, cut yarn, and pull to secure.
    3. Add new color in chain two space and chain three. Double crochet two more times and chain two. Double crochet three more times in the same space. Chain one. Go to the next chain two space (not a corner) and double crochet three times. Chain one. Repeat around. Join to chain, chain one, and cut yarn.
    4. Repeat step 3 with the next color. Join to top of chain, cut, and pull to secure. Cut off ends from the backside.
When I did the waistband, I did double crochet across the back instead of slip stitches because I have a big butt, and it was pulling down, lol.
Thank you so much for the beautiful patterns!!

Acrylic is the most accessible yarn and people can be allergic to wool, don't be a classist
Not to mention that majority of clothes are made out of synthetic materials

    • @oneheadofcabbage
      @oneheadofcabbage ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@moonbunnygw8342 Did you even read what I said?
Cotton is cheaper than acrylic in foreign markets, which is easy to access via online shopping. I do not use wool, only cotton or bamboo, both of which are very cost-effective and last significantly longer than petroleum-based fibers. I'm a broke first-gen college student with no dad who grew up on governmental assistance... don't talk to me about classism.
The majority of modern clothes ARE made of synthetic materials, which is the problem. Fast fashion made with cancerous, non-biodegradable materials is killing our wildlife, us, and our microbiome because they're meant to be worn for a season and then discarded. The whole point of making your own items is to avoid fast fashion and create a more sustainable solution. Are you not seeing the problem? Yarn and fabrics made with acrylic and polyester leave microplastics that can't be filtered out in our water supply FOREVER.
I'd be happy to share my sources. Please do your research before bashing people on the internet.
