- Seth Arnold flies the FV-31 Cypher on a very windy day. Winds 15 mph gusting to 20, while occasionally changing directions.
The Cypher takes the stress out of transitions and windy days. It features 3 modes:
-Forward Flight Mode
-45 degree "Magic" Mode with forward speeds from 0 to 16 mph
-Hover Mode for speeds of about -5 to +8 mph

Love this New VTOL from Flex RC! A must have Aircraft from FLEX!
Impressive. Obviously far more versatile and well thought out than the convergence.
VTOL models have never been my cup of tea but darn if this one doesn't make me want to try it out. Looks like FLEX has the first good VTOL, well done.
i'm sure they are tough to fly too.
@@harpoon_bakery162 it's alot easier than you would think it's really stable The JJR is pretty good also It's a little better than the XK It's no match for the FV-31 but it's pretty stable and doesn't cost as muchIt will tip stall if you try to turn super tight Just keep a little altitude and you will be fine The mane thing I don't like about the JJR and the XK is the servos that control the motors have plastic gears when ya crash they break very easy I suggest going ahead and getting the metal gear upgrades when ya purchase it If ya don't you will be waiting on them after your first crash 🤔🙄😁 ✌️
That's a great option for locations without a decent landing strip. Amazing flying too.

Met these guys at flite fest Ohio , they had this edf their, it was really awesome to watch what it could do , butt $ 400 seems a little steep . I would buy it for 300 or less maybe

Oh man, now that's the one I want... a VTOL with the best of both worlds, that's able to take off and land in both vertical _and_ horizontal/runway mode. And nice perc that all the props are also enclosed by shrouds, instead of the usual 'exposed' ones that so often take a hit. Are y'all still making 'em, 'cuz they're currently hard to find? Thx folks!

6:30 minutes on a 3S 3300, that's incredible. I'd be interested to see what flight times it'll will do you with typical cruising around. Are these limited to 3S or will they run a 4S 2450 mAh size?

He got a 6+ min flight on a battery? That's pretty good. I'm lucky to get 4 mins on my E-Flight Convergence and that's pushing it. Doesn't fly all that great, either. The transitions from multi-rotor mode to airplane mode and back are horrendous.

Love your flying skills. If I try to do that I would crash the plane to pieces. It is a cool plane, the only negative thing if you want to Pont something is that needs retracts.

Okay, I just got mine today (AF version) and have it all put together. I'm not looking forward to the radio setup, so how hard will that be with a Spektrum DX9 and 4951T RX? I'd really prefer to avoid using Betaflight, if possible, due to it being a real pain setting up some quads in the past. Thanks!
If you don't want to use the 6-axis, self-leveling mode, you don't need to connect to Betaflight. If you want to use that, you only need to connect to Betaflight for calibration of the sensor. The TX setup is covered in the Cypher manual's "Transmitter Configuration Guide".

To bad it does not do faster speed in Hover mode. It would be a fun little guy to take to a Drone race day, lol! Also, no flips in hover mode?
Flips fine in hover mode. Not really much reason to go fast in hover mode. Lots of aerodynamic drag from the airframe when trying to go fast. May as well use 45 degree mode if you want to go faster.

Does the tilt mechanism for the rear EDF's support thrust vectoring?
I'm not sure what you mean...it currently changes the thrust vector (angle) in pitch by about 90º between hover and conventional forward flight.

Maybe easier to ask it, do the EDF's for forward flight tilt independently to enable greater manuverability during forward flight?

Yeah, but only when it's in hover mode. Quads don't have two pivoting motors. Having wings would also allow it unload the front motors in forward flight, therefore making it more efficient in a high speed cruise.

Nice flying plane but you guys seriously need to consider hiring a new graphic artist for your plane liveries. Looks very "toy like."
U think 5000mah 50c 11.1volt to heavy for FV-31
Our favorite battery is the Potenza 3S 3500mAh 75C pack.
The aircraft can fly on anything from a 3S 2200 to a 3S 5000, but the 3500 size is the sweet spot for flight time and performance.
