One is the traditional off-map munitions arty, with flares, the one that is easily recognisable, and that your soldiers shout out warnings about. The other is from a field piece. I don't think that one gives any warning whatsoever? It's a long time ago now. Some of the things that guy says are just nonsensical. VP cap noob? That's the objective of the game, what else are you supposed to do. Base defender? Well you pushed him into his base, so naturally, he'll be defending from there.
This video reminded me of why I stopped playing COH1 and my nostalgia feeling for it is unfounded. American blobs and artillery rewards the most garbage players ever, and they even have anti-supression skills. COH2 seems to handle this far better.
Boy were light vehicles a lot worse in that game. That's honestly one of my favorite changes between 1 and 2: I absolutely love the highly lethal but fragile light vehicles.

In my opinion that is the best aspect of CoH1. American early units are stronger and all their units gain better veterancy bonuses. If a Wehrmacht player survives the early and midgame he is rewarded with a good comeback. You might feel like it is unfair or unbalanced, but maybe you haven't fought against a good american player, where the only thing you can hold onto is that lonely fuelpoint in the corner.

he seems to not understand how to counter sniper other snipers. he also moaned when he forced his opponent to defend his base by pushing him back to his base. leaving him no option but to defend from his base. hes an idiot he also seemed to not bother go after the victory points either but instead let his enemy keep the points for a long time even when he dominated most of the map. he just rushed his troops into massive groups with no tactics at all and then cries noob when they get mowed down. he had this game in the bag but threw it away in it stupid suicide charges and crying about base defending. i mean what logic is that not defending your base without it you lose or can't produce new troops. the AI shows better tactics than him at least they try to capture and hold the VP points.
Instead of flaming away the guy needed to be making at least 2 AT guns. Rangers and Arty were never going to cut it. You pretty much had to build the AT guns one way or another in CoH1.
My main trick against salty people is to answer in the most upbeat and happy way possible. I act like I think he is just happy and I answer in an overly happy way! That way I avoid to be contaminated.
I wasn't old enough to know how to play coh1 so my first coh was coh2. Seeing this makes me think it was nice that I started with coh2 even though it's still pretty toxic there too. (Not as much as this Maxwell guy though)

I don't know how anyone can say this game is more balanced lol there maps with complete base mg flaws that are exploited, tanking trapping base bridges so infantry cant get across. Dude... You can hear the arty firing, it says boom, and then 2 secs later the shell drops. You can allso see the artillary piece if you look around the map when it shoots. The click ability you can see the flares but it doesnt make any noice warning you, that would be EZ mode.
is this the style of online gameplay still? My 6 or some games some years back online were so boring ... even normal AI was more difficult. Nobody using cover or grenades, just running in - retreating - running in - retreating. :D I thought its a wargame not a marathon. 36:20 The bug is none mostly, cause the other player has taken infantry doctrine and is shelling you with his howizer from his base ... that one does not signal you before fireing. you could see it on the map actually.

There are some things I like about COH1, but the "permanent vet" upgrade for Wehr was always BS even when I mained them.
