It just occurred to me though that while people are quick to marvel at the ignorance of this generation, they just as quickly forget this is the result of the nationwide negligence of our children. I definitely agree that teaching them how to think could be useful though but that kinda just comes from learning how to do stuff yourself and not spoiling your kid which comes from the parents imagine ur up at 3am (i know for a fact that 99% of kids do this at least once in 2 weeks in my high school)
      and u need food if u don't know how to cook then you have to learn it yourself so a normal person with thinking ability could easily self teach themselves how to cook via internet which is quite an overpowered tool to have
      if the kid was used to having everything ready for him every time he wants then he won't want to learn how to cook bc its mostly a useless skill (at this time) for him bc he gets everything he wants by just talking so he will probably just stay hungry or go to bed and when morning comes he can ask his parents to make food or stuff like that
      so yeah teaching kids to think is a good idea imo too ngl but I feel like schools shouldn't be the ones doing it here schools even say we only teach and give knowledge we don't teach you to behave or think properly (translating is kinda difficult rn bc the word they use doesn't exist on English but that's basically what they mean) bc that's the parent's job to do
      also, my bad for the long reply I usually like writing, etc so I always end up writing replies with every small bit of info I can fit in there unconsciously

      also ppl said "instead of teaching pronouns in school teach _____" and i was like what do they actually teach pronouns? bc we already know them by default here no one teaches that nor do anyone has to teach it they arent even that important tbh i wouldn't mind if someone called me a she by accident its no big deal
      i feel like it might be americas school system getting worse ngl *but* there is also a huge ton of parenting problems i can see too like who doesn't know seasons and 3x3x3 we didn't even need to start going to first grade (which is where we learn how to write here prolly same for other countries too) to learn other languages including how to write words in them (it was really really basic but we learnt english on kindergarten for stuff like
      can i get an orange juice?
      egg hello how are you etc
      better, good, fine, go and lots of basic words
      basic kindergarten stuff i'd say its for preparing us to learn English on the future and learning how to write basic stuff before 1st grade also helped with english that early too)
      so i really feel like its the parents fault when a kid becomes like this bc u only gotta make 1 mistake which is letting them get addicted to social media and the internet, at that age they wont really control themselves and wont know what is more important to them so gotta control a little before they are mature enough not too much but just enough so that they will be a normal person unlike these ppl

      other countries doing fine tho fun fact there was a literal genius in my class when i went to 8th grade the dude got 90 out of 90 questions right with only 1 hours of studying (only 4 people on my whole country got that good of a score and there is at least 1 million people he was against) i to this day don't know how he can be that good normal people like us get like 4 wrongs usually which is alright i'd say but that good is so hard to achieve with a test like that

After that, I headed to a different class, my teacher asked how the citizenship test went, I told her I finished before everyone. Student doesn't attend class/pay attention in class/doesn't want to be there that's NOT on the teacher. That's not on the school. That's not on the parents. That's on the student. Students are as much part of the problem. Nice try though.

    • @thealphastrain101
      @thealphastrain101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pjbpiano You can't police your children 24/7. It's fairly clear you don't know much about kids. I could go into the psychology of it, but it'd be a waste of time. Your absolute refusal to see that the students are also at fault is part of the problem lol. But, you can't see that either and will probably just turn it around too.
      What's a parent going to do after telling their child to "Stop skipping classes" and the child refuses? What then? Ground them? Cool. Take away stuff? Cool. Does ANY of that stop that kind of behavior? Absolutely not.
      Perhaps your refusal to see that the students are also at fault is because you already see them as lost causes? Why else would you assume that policing your children by strict rules guidelines would do any good for them?
      Or perhaps the reason the education system is failing because of people like you putting far too much pressure on teachers, parents and institutions? If a child wants to learn, they'll learn. You simply cannot force anyone to learn.

    • @pjbpiano
      @pjbpiano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thealphastrain101 no. YOU cannot force your children to learn because you have accepted the limited options available to you in how to raise your children. Children will be children and they will always test boundaries. How strong are your boundaries? If you think all the options you have in course correcting your children’s behavior is grounding them and taking away their favorite toys, then you are severely limited in how to educate your children on interacting with the world. And that is not a sign of a parent that is doing all they can to make sure their children are fit enough to go to school and appreciate what is being taught there.
      Now to address your point directly, the children are the ones being educated by the educated system. They did not create it. They were born into it and they will learn what the system teaches them directly or indirectly. If you have a bunch of ignorant adults, it is because for the most part, the people responsible for raising them (parents, teachers and society at large) failed.
      Education does not start at school. It starts at home. The parents are the child’s first teachers. Any parent that thinks the class teachers are the people in charge of educating their children has failed already.
