      They have had some changes recently because I had to sign a 6 year contract 4 years ago but I have a few trainees that signed a 4 year and some of those airmen came in last year so you might be able to do a 4 year contract now.

    I had a stroke 2 years ago due to a blood clot passing through a hole in my heart, the hole has since been fixed and I have no residual symptoms after a 100% recovery, I am now 18, would I be eligible for this position?

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Unfortunately, this will likely be medically disqualifying. However, the doctor at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) makes that determination. Your local recruiter can have your medical records for this condition prescreened by the doctor at MEPS for a preliminary ruling in your particular situation. It is routine during the screening process that all applicants are asked in-depth questions about their medical history. Just like other medical matters such as broken bones or asthma, we would request medical paperwork for the CMO to review for a determination.

      It’s probably not good. Without the BAH/BAS they are pretty much getting just above minimum wage to do this. E-5 pay is E-5 whether you are flipping eggs 🍳 or working traffic. Defac employees probably get a better bonus.

For instance , ( I worked Radar) to clear the aircraft for an approach, we called it PTAC, Position, Turn Altitude Clearance,,,, Lobo15 15 miles north of (name of base or airport). turn left heading 280 maintain 4 thousand until establish on localizer cleared ILS runway 32 approach,,,,, look for the FAA 7110.65, its the ATC bible,,,,

    • @USAirForceRecruiting
      @USAirForceRecruiting  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, asthma is a (potentially) medically disqualifying condition. The Air Force will utilize the Methacholine Challenge Test (MCT) to provide an objective measure of candidates with an ambiguous or uncertain history of asthma. Candidates who successfully pass this test will be processed for a waiver. Please contact your local recruiter. The doctor at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) will make the determination of whether or not your situation is disqualifying. Your local recruiter can have your medical records for this condition prescreened by the doctor at MEPS for you to find a preliminary ruling. Please contact an Air Force recruiter for more details.
