Many thanks to Scott for sharing his model building adventures with us in these three videos. Building since he was four years old and continuing to be a pioneer in the hobby!
Thank you so much Doug for producing these videos! As a guy that will never be at the level of building and creativity that you show case, I have an immense appreciation for the talent and skill you and those you interview display. I have learned so much watching. Thanks again!
Hi guys, great segment. I used to build when I was a teenager in PA. The stores that sold models back then would have 2 or 3 contests every year but to get an entry slip you had to buy a model kit. The kits were only $1.98 back in 1962. When I went into the USAF in 1965 I got away from building pretty much for 40 years. Now I live in San Antonio and back in 2010 I was driving driving down a street and saw a sign, ModelFiesta model show today. I pulled in the parking lot and some great modelers and now great friends from the Alamo Squadron model club. It wasn't long before I got back into the groove and being competitive again. Now I'm 75 and still an active builder and still competitive. Our club, with help from other TX model clubs, are hosting the IPMS Nats 2023 in San Marcos, TX Aug 2 to 5. Hope to see you all there.
Great Stuff Doug. The two different perspectives is probably the best part, kind of optimist Vs. pessimist build styles. Yet, both "Git 'er done!" as some famous guy says! The synergy between the two of you in these videos is the best, just love how you two feed off of each other's ideas. You can see the lightbulbs going off in Scott's head. One of your best yet, Thanks!
Still watching your videos over and over again. I seem to pick something new every time l watch. Maybe l am just slow iny old age, lol thank you for model car muse.
Man two great videos in a row. At 59 I’m getting back into modeling. I want to do custom work. I’ve did a 59 impala and am just starting a 67 pro street chevelle AMT. SO BLOWN AWAY WITH ALL OF THE CHANGES SINCE I WAS A KID USING TESTORS PAINT AND GLUE. Your work areas definitely gave me some inspiration. I set up in my home office and was worried about my hobby space inside my house. I set up a spray booth in my garage but decided I wanted to build in my office. I just don’t want a junky room in my house lol. Thanks for sharing
Welcome back to the hobby. If you call your work area your Shop or Art Studio, which is what it really is, nothing about it could be considered "junk"!! ;)
Scott and I go waaaay back on the old Daves Showrod RAlly site, such a great builder! I've always admired he's work and he's just such a nice guy to boot! Really enjoyed this.

I was in SAM when I was a kid (with my dad) in the 80s, what a blast to the past. Nice work and great tips!

Amazing video. One tip Scott mentioned was moon discs from pop cans. I would like to learn how that is done. Thanks. 👍
Long live the Rat Plastic Thrash! Hearing Scott talk about that really brought back some great memories. - Dave McG.

For easy hood pins - use fine sewing needles. Then all ya gotta do is bend up the cotter pins and figure out the tether wires.
You honor me Scott!

Watch A4 garage. He scratch builds tiny parts. I did some of it the way he does but I have snagged many ways of using tools from him
I like that C-cab

Ok where can we get the windows information? I was just thinking about putting a plexiglass looking window on a gasser.
