      I think the referrences to Master Hand & Crazy Hand is like the gloves of Master Xehanort esp in wriggling his fingers in the BBS trailer & summoning the X-Blade in KH3.

      Both Cloud and Sora should have they're classic mode last battle against Sephiroth, one on Final Destination (which has a transmission similar to the Safer Sephiroth battle) and the other on the Fire Emblem coliseum with One-Winged Angel for obvious reasons.

    I think that the ganondorf fight is supposed to be a darkisde because of his size and also the music that plays is the music that always plays when you fight a darkside. Plus the stage could be referencing destiny island getting destroyed but I also see it being the keyblade graveyard. Other than that I completely agree with everything else

      I don't see it being anything else, tbh
      My thought was that it was a Re:CoM or Re:Coded reference, though, since in both those Darkside fights, the field is a small island instead of the larger area in KH1

    The way I understood stage 4 is that you're fighting Ventus, Aqua, and Terra in Land of Departure since little male Robin is small (like Ventus), medium female Robin is normal sized (like Aqua), and big male Robin represents Terra. The stained glass of Kalos league is very reminiscent of Land of Departure too, and their mix between sword and magic attacks makes me think this is what it was alluding to.

    • @JLuisJoni
      @JLuisJoni 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's more Vexen (normal m!Robin, because people _looks down on him_ despite his rank, thus a visual cue), Marluxia (large Robin, because tol people in charge is a common visual trope) and Larxene (female Robin, obviously). Also, Kalos Pokémon League represents Castle Oblivion, which is not really associated with Xion and _especially_ Roxas (the kid only entered the place once, and he barely went past the entrance door before blacking out at that). Also, I don't really Sakurai and co. would be recycling the same reference twice for the same pack

    It's a long stretch, but I like to believe the Master and Crazy Hands are a reference to the Master of Masters.
    A figure whose been pulling the strings from the background this whole time, and the hands names "Master" and "Crazy" both are descriptors that could apply to the MoM. With this in mind, it gets me hype for when the future arrives for us to face down against the Master in person

    • @RikenzuPlays

      Valid af

      Honestly, it kind of scares me when I remember that we haven't actually SEEN the Master of Masters fight anyone and he's supposedly the strongest Keyblade Master of all time. Considering some of the stuff that some other Keyblade Masters are able to do (mainly Xehanort and the Foretellers) it's honestly terrifying when you think of what's gonna happen when he DOES end up fighting someone.
      (Also, kinda hoping that in the next KH game where we play as Sora, there's a secret fight against MoM where you just find him, no words are spoken and he just summons a Keyblade and starts fighting with his theme playing in the background. He honestly doesn't need a unique battle theme, his own theme would work just as well for him in a boss fight)

    My first thought was also that Giant Ganondorf was Master Xehanort but I actually think it's supposed to be Darkside. The platform does look like the Keyblade Graveyard, but given Ganondorf's size, the fact that Destiny's Force plays, and the fact that the stage ALSO looks very similar to the floating "island" thingy with the giant ball of darkness floating overhead from the Darkside fight when Destiny Islands is being destroyed, my conclusion was it's a reference to Darkside.
    I also wonder if the fight against Metal Sora could be Sora's Heartless from Coded, or even his "shadow" from KH1 that appeared in the intro (and turns into Darkside) and in Neverland.

  • @NomsSolorio

    the bigger G&W reminded me of Mega/Giga Shadow Heartless, and then the Giant Ganondorf reminded me of a Darkside more than Xehanort (tho I did think it was Xehanort at first lol) and then the Master/Crazy fight just fits that overall fight for balance between Light and Darkness (both hands being mass produced by Galeem and Dharkon in World of Light) And of course, the credits are the gummi ship sections of KH1

    Fight 1: I agree
    Fight 2: should be a reference to the Heartless before you fight
    Fight 3: Cloud and I agree
    Fight 4: I actually think they are Roxas, Axel and Xion as the big Robin does more fire moves and the boy and girl Robin’s who are smaller try to replicate Sora’s moveset with the magic and sword moves
    Fight 5: I agree
    Fight 6: kinda true cause if it really is then how come it isn’t the DDD Sora alt?

    The Hands could actually be a reference to the Dark Figure guardian that stays behind Ansem during your fight at the End of the World’s Destiny Islands in Kingdom Hearts! The arena looks like a broken up Destiny Islands. Dark Figure has huge hands that constantly grab at you and hit you, and it shoots out dark rings that hurt you (like how Master and Crazy Hands shoot gold rings at you). I feel confident that this is what that is a reference to, it’s just meant to be less obvious to get you really thinking.

Games like MVC3 by Capcom has this details for their characters, for example: Dante´s double jump has the iconic sound, either Vergil Judgment cut has its characteristic sound, but Smash Bros focus a lot in this kind of things. That´s why many people got amused with Sora valor form pose. Greetings Pal from Mexico.

    I'm pretty sure round 4 is a fight against Xion, Roxas, and Axel, seeing as how female Robin and the male Robin next to her are both small and the other Robin next to them is bigger. I believe this combination of Robin is also in Xion's spirit battle. Even if it isn't that, I don't think it's a reference to the Keyblade War of KH3 especially because I imagine you would fight all 13 Org members and it would be on the Find Mii stage instead. Also that Ganondorf fight is definitely a reference to Darkside on the destroyed floating remains of Destiny Islands.

They had other enemies at the end of the classic route they could have used like the giant robot or the dragon to be similar to Kurt Zisa or Maleficient. Firstly, it could be argued that the Link and Young Link fight could reference the two Dark Riku fights. With Young Link being Dark Riku, and Link being Ansem-Riku, respectively. In Hollow Bastion, it makes sense as a KH1 reference.
    The three Robins, in my opinion, is actually meant to be the Garden of Assemblage. Either from KH2 or KH3. True, it could be Nort Court, but there's evidence to suggest otherwise.
    Female Robin is Thunder version, making me think of Larxene. And one of the Male Robins is Fire, hence an Axel data fight reference. The other one could be Xemnas, Young Xehanort or Xigbar, if were sticking with that idea. The Kalos Pokemon League area is churchlike, so it could be referencing KH2's Castle Oblivion hallway leading to the Garden of Assemblage itself. If its a KH3 reference, the KH3 Data Garden still makes sense.
    The Giant Ganondorf fight is meant to be a Darkside fight (citing Re: Chain of Memories and Re:Coded for this one, where in both Sora is on a floating island while Darkside tries to wreck him).
    Continuing with Re:Coded being cited, fighting metal Sora is the Mirror Match in Re:Coded, at the end of the game, where Sora's Heartless becomes a Sora clone.
    Could also be a KH1 ref of Sora fighting Riku's Manifested Sora Shadow, as well. Either way, both of those are "vs. self" fights, where you have to be creative and outwit the opponent to win. Im not opposed to the Armored Nightmare Ventus theory though.
    Also of note, while messing with Sora in vs fights in solo Smash mode, i came across a reference they could have used but likely might have gotten in trouble for. Giant Ridley with the purple alt could have been a neat KH1 vs Dragon Maleficent fight reference. Purple and green is a very obvious color similarity 😏

  • @LittleBabyBlue777

    Definitely leaning towards the giant Ganondorf fight being a reference to the Darkside fight in KH1. Also, the Game & Watch invasion, to me personally, should've taken place on the Tortimer Island stage. They even show it in Sora's final screenshot so it's obvious that the stage is a stand-in for Destiny Islands. Not sure why they chose Skyworld but I do have a theory; Maybe Skyworld was chosen to further reference how Olympus was portrayed in the more recent KH3 since you don't go to the coliseum at all in that one.
    Cloud really should've been in his OG FF7 outfit but I suppose I kinda get it from Sakurai's perspective... He's clearly an Advent Children fanboy so I think he really just wanted to use that Cloud out of preference rather than trying to be faithful to the original KH. Either way, the reference still hits home and works. It's Sora Vs. Cloud in a Totally-Not-Olympus stage in Smash Bros. I'd say that's as good as it can really get, and it's all you could ever really ask for. Let Sakurai have his preferences. :P

    I’ve found a handful of references with Sora outside of classic mode. Sora P4 in stamina battle 1v1 against LV 9 Male Byleth on Fourside’s omega form (you’ll want to turn the volume down and play Nachtflügel for this one).

  • @RenKium
    @RenKium 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do like your ideas of what the references could be, if you want my honest opinion I see Sora’s classic mode as his journey to KH3.
    Starting from the first in Hallow Bastion, the music is Fragments of Sorrow which plays in the Dive to the Heart which is also in the smash stage so it’s at the tutorial of Kingdom Hearts 1, the Links can be interpreted as Sora's shadow as Young Link and Darkside as BOTW Link.
    Second is definitely Destiny Islands of fighting Shadows with the music giving it away
    Round Three is obvious with fighting Cloud in Olympus, however Four and Five is confusing with having Organization 13 members and lasted a giant Gannondorf, the music in Four definitely tells me it’s Castle Oblivion (plus one of the Robins is female) but is Gannon Xemnas? It’s difficult to tell with the music and stage is a Behemoth. But another part of me thinks it could be Lingering Will due to the stage, so I’ll leave it up to anyone’s guess.
    And finally Armoured Nightmare, a great final fight before we get to the title screen art of Kingdom Hearts 3 (oh and Master Hand and Crazy Hand are there for possibly Sakurai trying to get him into smash maybe.)

  • @themeta9273
    @themeta9273 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm pretty sure it's not the nort court and actually just a fight against organization 13, giant Gannon was definitely a darkside reference, and metal Sora is more like the dark Sora's that Riku summons in Neverland in kh1 or dark mode reference in kh2 and kh3

    I feel like if the Mr. G&W's were meant to represent the Heartless attacking Destiny Island, the stage would actually be one of the actual island stages and not Skyworld. Maybe the scene may actually be a reference to the Olympus Colosseum? I don't know what goes on there, though, nor do I know any other worlds that take place in the sky, since I don't know KH in general aside from the beginning in Destiny Island and a little bit afterward in Traverse Town.

      sadly seph is dlc so everyone would need to have him, but I for one would want seph to be the penultimate fight and master and crazy hand be for the final boss since he's travelled to the "smash world" and sealed it's keyhole, this isn't about sora or smash but sora IN smash, so it's fitting he's fighting them both, would have been cooler if it was in the dive to the heart but then would make less sense in terms of referencing canon, final destination is the embodiment of smash in terms of location, with both hands and final destination being all about light and darkness, and "fiction", the embodiment of the realms represented in KH, like the between of all realms

    Around 5:00 you mentioned the fight was a reference to Riku fighting the unversed armored Ventus looking Sora. I beg to differ. I would wager it's more in reference to Sora's fight against Yozora in Kingdom Hearts 3. First, the order in which the battles are done wouldn't line up with Riku fighting unversed armored Sora, but Yozora would fit the bill since you fight him AFTER you defeat old man Xehanort. Secondly, Sora's name means day-lite sky, and Yozora means night. The creators have mentioned the characters are mirror reflections of each other from an opposing spectrum, Sora is more lite hearted, childish, and always down for fun, while Yozora is a brooding depressing sad sack who may smirk at dark humor and given the fact he is more hardened in his heart than Sora that would hint to the metallic sheen of the final character Sora faces in Smash, or to simply make it more difficult than it should be since Yozora is arguably the toughest boss in the game. Lastly, Sora never fought unversed armored Sora, RIKU fought that battle. However, since Sora is the FINAL character reveal in smash and not YOZORA, the best they could do without creating more work and legal juggling licenses was to create the dark looking metal Sora... Thank you for reading my ted talk.

      As an add on, I believe the master hand may be a wink to something that has yet to come. Such as a fight with the "Masters of masters", the man or entity that has been "pulling the strings" of this entire ordeal from the FAR beginning... or could just be Smash's ultimate challenge for Sora.
