Had a couple of pints here in May 2022 out on the upstairs patio and around the corner by the Pelican Stairs side in front of the Pepys room windows. Saw a seal out in the Thames too. Glorious old pub, definitely worth a visit. Thanks Sinead for another awesome pub video.
Fantastic footage and coverage of an amazing pub. So atmospheric and full of character. Thank you so much for your hard work and research, Sinead. No one does it better x
Great video. An old stomping ground from 1988 - 98. A little correction though. Around 1:40 mins, none of the flats shown were shared ownership, they’re all private & built by Wates during early days of the docks regeneration, with government quango London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC).
Awesome live video I enjoyed it can't wait to see more soon. Your videos are always enjoyable and relaxing have a great day see you next video greetings from Canada 😀
The prospect is absolutely beautiful the smugglers room was my favourite room and the views were stunning. I also love Mickey Flannigan. Thank you Sinead for the fantastic tour.
Oh my!!! This is my most favorite tour you have done. I live in Oregon and very found of the seaside and all that comes with it. I lived by the shore for a few years. I miss it! There are a few old taverns here but obviously nothing as old as this one. If I lived close, I would frequent this pub often. I can almost smell and feel the old spirits, food, old wood and lovely breeze! What an amazing spot!!!
I grew up and lived in Wapping 1950s-1960s when it was called and considered a slum. I loved it, it was all undeveloped with the docks still working. It was so atmospheric, you would have loved it Sinead. I can still smell all the tobacco and spirit's of the wharf. The pub was a local to many. I still visit, walk around and still love the atmospheric vibe even though the area is all new and rebuilt. Thank you. was.

Thanks for the wonderful video! Have been going to this pub for over 20 years and love every bit of it. Wonderful sitting outside enjoying a pint in the early cool evenings soaking in the riverside atmosphere!

Love this video. It brought back memories of a trip I took to this pub in 1979 when I was an teenager. Those 43 years are just a short span of time in the history of the Prospect!
Glad that you enjoyed the video, Naomi. If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours th-cam.com/users/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more where this came from.
"Hung, Drawn and Quartered" OUCH !!!!! Just think: if those walls could only talk, the stories they could tell. Funny how Pelican Stairs is so narrow but separates the new building on the right from so much history to the left. Would love to see what the attics look like. Sinead: thank you for your vids of Queen Elizabeth's funeral, she to me has always been the face of the UK and she was such a gracious lady.
I've visited the Prospect a few times, it's an amazing pub with a unique and historic atmosphere. Haven't been there enough though and not for a long time either, must remedy that soon!
Thank you Sinead, this brought back many memories for me as I grew up in London and went there quite a few times. That as in the 60's and erly 70's, it look lot cleaner now and better organised. Has it still got the silver coin nailed to the counter? When anyone flushed the toilet in the Ladies room a Cockeral would crow in the main bar.😂 Had some fun times in there in evenings gone by, so many laughs with great people. Thanks once again 💕🇦🇺
Sinead I love your pub tours :-D I had never even heard of this one lol Thank u for me cultural lesson today! Why did it all seem so much more interesting way back when lol Could u do some more spooky pub ones for Halloween pleeese :-O x

Love it! So much history...I like the dark side, lol. Love the Victorian Graveyard tours. So many spirits walking about, I am sure. I would definitely be touring all of them if I ever get to cross the pond. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for doing this one! I will not miss it in December! Curious if all the decks are closed in winter or just the balcony closest to the water...

My brother's electric bike got nicked from outside about a year ago. Luckily it was insured. Still, perhaps not surprising seeing its history. One of my favourite London pubs.
Hi Sinead, brilliant vid as ever, love the jaunty music by the way that accompanied you from Wapping to the POW I could have listened to that for ages lol. I've been once or twice to the pub and love looking out over the Thames and wondering how many unexploded Luftwaffe bombs might still be down there in the mud, but I digress. I knew the pub was very old but thank you for filling in many blanks for me regarding much earlier skullduggery than the Nazis got up to.
John it’s hard not to be consumed by the history surrounding the place Spent a full day there myself with friends and family that weekend Looking forward to my next visit Delighted you enjoyed it Sinead
Another fantastic tour Sinead. That is the same pub you took a peek at in your recent video. Am I right? Wish I was there so I could visit. Ghosts love me.
