Why hasn't the Government responded to the Adaptive Sports Program for Veterans report?

Senator Fawcett questions the Minister on the Government's failure to respond to the "Adaptive sport programs for Australian Defence Force veterans" report within the required timeframe.

Look at the primary law firm that is used to support the Govt in both Vet Affairs and Comcare - they are on a cash cow and their primary task is to ensure that the govt mitigates against liability. They dont give a toss about welfare outcomes - and to be blunt neother have Lib or Lab hovts of the day.. Defence doesnt even keep stats on the welfare of those who are discharged so that they can conveniently say that they have no idea what the suicide rates are of ex service men and women.
All outsourcing the kegal process has done has increased the money going to the empaneled legal eagles from the 5 law firms that can be used. NONE of it benefits injured uniforms
part of the answer is easier than others - but both sides dont want to upset the gravy train for the law firms that are used to defenc the commonwealth against legitimate calls for medical support
you're in a party that supports a legal process that makes uniforms worse off. bloody disgraceful. we send these people off to act on govt military policy and then we abandone them when they need help. and the senior sirs once they hit BrigGen level just roll in behind the 3 stars who do NOTHING meaningful to change the system
