I do not plan to be this long winded in future videos. Also forgive the crazy auto focus and "blown out" speaking audio. It's a new mic and I'm having some issues with.
Pretty sure omar hakim himself would be blown away at how good this is, love the attention to details, the dynamics, the edit in the beginning was amusing. Your musicality is astonishing, glad i found your channel bro. Keep being awesome.
2:32 I don't know if the slight delay on the two snare hits here is intentional, but if it is, you're a genius, because it's literally 1:1 with the original. It's the small things haha This is so so good
I have been looking for someone to do this for a long time now. I didn't realize it was done two years ago. This is the hardest part and you nailed it.
Great to have you back Lui and good you are all healed up😬👍🏻. The first person cam is awesome and gives such a great sense of how challenging it is to play drums. Find it really interesting to see where your focus is depending on the part you are playing. The usual camera angles plus the body cam would be sweet to see in future videos 😉. I like making more work for people 🤣
Thanks man I really appreciate it. Lol I've been thinking about if I incorporate both. I would have to definitely record two takes and blend them together. Would be too weird to see be all strapped up with a camera. We'll see though. I think this may be a "every now and then" thing.
I’m not sure, it might give a good context to the POV shots though? So your brain makes that connection of “oh he’s got a camera on his chest, that’s why that viewpoint makes sense.” But who knows, it might look super awkward too 🤣. Trail and error my friend, either way, it’ll be cool 😁👍🏻
Thanks, glad you enjoy it. I shot it on a 360 camera. The insta 360 one x. Used a GoPro head mount to mount the 360 cam. Then faced the camera down over my eyes. So it was blocking my view as I played this. I tried to go for an angle that made it feel as realistic as possible. While also somewhat being able to see what I was playing. Edited some of the angles in post to focus the main view in certain areas. There’s where you see that stitching moving.
Great to see you playing again. I always look forward to what you will cover next. Th POV was a nice touch in bringing us to a part of your day. The girls really liked it too. Am I getting the hint that someone really likes Emma Stone. Just an observation lol. Good stuff Bro.
Thank you. I don’t ever isolate drum tracks from pre recorded songs. I just listen to the song and break down on my own what the drummer is playing. Many years of listening, playing and performing has helped me with doing this. Of course it’s not something that happens in a rep or two. Definitely takes time and focus. Break the song down into sections. Get your “easy parts” out of the way. Figure out the transition points. Buckle down and work out the “hard parts”. Once you have a full understanding of how the song is played. Go back and polish everything. You’ll find all the micro things you really missed. Put it all together and congrats. Don’t think you asked for all this but just wanted to be helpful, if it happens to be. Cheers.
I think this is the closest cover to original i’ve heard

I am loving the way you shot this POV what camera are you using and how do you have it mounted?

Such a sick cover man
what did u use to learn this song any sheet out there?
I can not for the life of me find the sheet music for the drums.
Awesome vídeo, how did u isolated The drums from the original track?

awesome!!! where can I find the drum score??
Much appreciated! I actually don't know if there is any drum score out on this. I learned the song by ear.
