- Neitzens flooded social media with news that another tree had fallen in the Kuala Lumpur city centre on Monday (May 13) afternoon. The incident happened outside Menara Prestige on Jalan Pinang.

You know what's scary is the number of trees they say that needs to be felled is WAY too little. There are SO MANY big trees around KL, not just around the Monorail or KLCC area that clearly overgrown.
Soon, there will be tree insurance
But if you cut those trees, people will complain that it's too hot. Why there's no tree.

Oh my God, I am a security guard working in Menara Pratige. My own eyes saw that tree felled and hit the car. I was very hurt by such an incident.
The issue is local authorities wont compensate for damages and wont admit their own fault never care for these trees!

Pakar kata pokok-pokok dibandar lemas di lautan batu-batan. Pokok-pokok sentiasa kena dicantas menjadi ketot supaya tidak mudah tumbang. Kalau tumbang pun harta-benda tak rosak, orang tak mati.

Why are they falling to begin with? Something wrong by how it’s being maintained? How come the roots aren’t strong anymore?

Trees need soil around them to root deeply, which is lacking in an urban environment. City trees need to be regularly pruned and kept at medium height to avoid falling, which DBKL failed to do.

Here in southern Johore many trees are toppling down like bowling pins. Dangerous as we can see many barks of the tree attacked & left to the harsh weather throughout the years.
Looks like the trees in the area are speaking amongst themselves. Like, who's goes next?
This month the weather in KL city was wet and raining. The surface of soil become loose. The tree trunk was so heavy. That was a main fault

I just do not understand DBKL's action on tree pruning. Why are they pruning the lower branches off, while, allowing the upper branches to continue growing? Isn't that causing the trees to grow even taller and taller?
They don't have the tools. 😂

Learn from the new situation by accessing big old trees along the road because the trees pose threat to road users. Those big old trees need to be removed if climate change with strong wind is taking into consideration

Seem dbkl dont know how to work...if ask profesional...this tree must be remove or cut...it will not surrive...even do pruning still will fall down...its because the age and soil was not suitable anymore for them to stay between the building...they suitable grow inside jungle only...if love so much just search in ali baba the machine to remove the tree was not so very expensive
