Old Big trees, need to trim if overgrown. There is no need to twist and turn. Trying to blame climate. Later, the staff turned up late to work, blame climate also.
How can fallen trees be related to climate change which by the way will not cause soil erosion. Soil erosion is a consequence of irresponsible human activities. The reporter needs to do a better job in asking a more sensible or rather logical question. The tree simply needs bigger root zone which is impossible when it's surrounded by pavement. Just have sufficient buffer zone for the tree, problem solved.
My 2¢ . It is due to the stupidity of the department concern to indiscriminately cut the buttress roots for road widening. The roots must be the same circumference as the branches.

This is what we called performing minister. How you answer question by stating the concern point from government. Not just merely saying “we did our job” , “not our faults” like what Zaliha did. Addressing the concern and understanding what is at stake and what needs to be done and if study needed then do it.

Trees cool down city. Also absorb water & prevent flooding. They’re beneficial to cities, just require more regular checking by expert and trim off some branches from time to time.

Once a fatality occurred, falling trees deemed dangerous is launched. What about potholes, no concerted effort yet ?
I think safety first of the public....not can not cut....
