Regroup is a very strange first pick, I have to say. It's not a card that sees a bunch of play for me outside Cyke decks. Nelson gets my vote this one, because Strength in Numbers is also distinctly flawed as a concept. SiN is a "win more" type of card that doesn't really help you gain tempo against high pressure scenarios. Uncanny X-Men is a bonkers card, to the point where almost every X-Men hero's best deck is a blue one with Uncanny.
Both great top fives. As someone who primarily plays 3 & 4 player, I'm a big Mission Leader fan. And another card I end up using relatively often (but wouldn't put it above any of the cards in your top fives) is Command Team.
I love the no allies and no power of cards. I hope you continue this bc it’s more interesting. Maybe later yall can do allies only for each aspect later on.
I think that Nelson's list is the winner to me. Picks 1, 2, and 3 for Nelson are better than VT's 1, 2, and 3 in my estimations. I do think VT has a better 4 and 5, and he was kicking himself for not taking Nelson's 2nd pick. Great video as always!
It’s cool to hear the takes on these cards. I don’t know why I’m not a fan of To Me, My X-Men. But all in all, VillainTheory wins this draft for me. First for the robot voice, then because I see those more often as staples in leadership.
My vote is for Nelson...even if "to me my x-men" is very effective only if you play min. 14-15 allies (cyclops). The other 9 cards are top plus the others you mention.
Villain Theory won. I didn’t like his top two but his last 3 sealed it for me. Clarity of purpose not being number 1 or 2 is crazy in my opinion that card is so so good. Also suit up is a top 5 leadership card for me.
Love this series with you two! Keep them coming. Just started playing this summer and buying as much as I can moving forward to catch up. These videos help me a lot with my deck building and knowing what cards are out there! Thanks guys! I would say I like Villain Theory's list a bit more (but is's really close). I don't have that many x-men content just yet (newer player here) so wouldn't use those cards as much quite yet.
Make the Call is probably the best card in the entire game, so Nelson gets the early advantage, but I’ll give the overall edge to VT. His 5 are always useful, whereas Nelson has 2 that are X-men decks only, and a 1 time use PSS.
I usually side with Villain, but this time I must side up with Nelson... Choices 1, 2 and 3 go for Nelson, number 4 is a draw and number 5 goes for Villain.
As others said, Make the Call is undeniably the best. That said, VT had the better overall list. And that said, I want to try a “to me, my x-men” ETB (enters the battlefield) build. Seems like a cool deck.
I do agree with most of your list. My main disagreements are no Sidekick or Command Team. Like I mentioned in the SOTC comments yesterday it may be finicky to get on the table, but signature allies like Black Cat, Diamondback, Vivian, Honey Badger are absolutely devastating with side kick and can be well worth the extra effort to get them out. For Command Team for Voltron allies it can help them way overperform each turn. I played a slightly modified version of VT's Bub Club deck (Extra Command team and Uncanny X-Men) and was able to get 21 damage out of Jubilee in one turn thanks to 3 Command teams, 2 make the calls, and one Rapid Response. I would love a Leadership Ally draft. Does regroup leave after the round it is played or used? For best aspect I kinda agree with both. I feel over all in general Leadership is better but Protection has the best standouts with specific characters like Quicksilver, Domino, Ghost Spider, Magic, and a few others Challenge: Make a Cyclops deck that only contains allies or cards that increase ally limit
@@NelsonAllOverCards Make The Call only works in a vacuum. By itself. The card spits in the face of other cards with its play right from discard pile and the fact it is a self contained action. Even some precons have this clash, like War Machine. Just a few cards Make The Call clashes with: - Quinjet - Team Building Exercise - Helicarrier - Government Liaison
I don’t think that Avengers allies are significantly worse than X-Men. You’ve got Ronan, Stinger, squirrel girl, Goliath, ant man, white tiger etc. Plenty of good options. The problem is that Mighty Avengers itself is much weaker than Uncanny X-Men. An extra hit point is much more valuable on most allies than and extra Atk or Thw and then also getting those same allies for cheaper, it’s just too good.
I think the British dude with the robot voice is really onto something, he gets my vote
He should lean into the British vibe and sip tea
I guzzle it down like pints at the pub

Woo hoo!! 🎉
Nelson’s top 2 are the best, but Villain’s middle 3 are the next best. Overall, I’d give the slight edge to Villain Theory here.
Welcome aboard is one of my favorites, considering that Starlord is in my top 3 characters ❤
Make the call, Call for Back up and Uncanny Xmen ❤
Sorry Villain but that’s an insurmountable list
Great Video guys!

I don’t have access to my cards atm so I’m living vicariously through you both.

I think Villain Theory won this one! It was close, but Regroup and Rapid Response pushed him over the line for me.
How about a Leadership-only Ally draft after Magneto is released?
Triskelion is cool because you can safely discard it when caught off guard as the D tier card it is.
😂 😂

Cyclops leadership is one of my favourite decks to play so this is an easy win to Nelson for me.
Let’s goooo!!!
Once again, Nelson had this but lost it a niche pick. In this case, with To Me my X-Men.
Good card, but honestly, it's Cyclops only.

Good thing that you didnt include allies, or both drafts would had been 1-4 María Hill and 5 beast.
100% she’s so good
Well, Captain America does have nice cards but you cant but em because He is out of print.
Nelson won.
Make The Call is so over-rated for how anti-synergy it is
Interesting, curious to hear more on this!

@@EvanSnowWolf while it does not mesh well with those cards you can also use it to get around some of the play restrictions which is pretty cool!
Current top-tier meta-game (for those who care about min-max'ing decks) is probably ally recursion, so saying is top tier is properly rated

My vote goes to Nelson just because of the X-Men cards.
