200 Stab Wounds fucks. I get why death metal "purists" don't like them, but I love the hardcore grindy slammy groovy vibes they implement. Looking forward to a new album this year hopefully
Hung with them once. Super dope dudes. Also, Frozen Soul is also the nicest band I have ever talked to. They're like "Today we randomly decided to feed the homeless" kind of nice.
Have to disagree on the 200 STABWOUNDS take, it was my favourite album from that year, really digging the mix of death metal with the hardcore grooves without going the death core route. But otherwise very agreeable list.
Cool video. Gutted you don't like Frozen and 200. My opinion is literally the opposite on Frozen Soul!!! RIFFS FOR DAYS... The guys of metal and the diversity of it all. I subbed and look forward to more videos!
I know there are tons of bands, and I'm sure you know a lot of them, but here are some bands that fit the criteria of this video, that have put out great albums: Hyperdontia, Phrenelith, Necrot, Maul, Mortuous, Revel in Flesh, Creeping Death, Outre Tombe, Soul Grinder, and from my home country of Sweden, Lik, Creeping Flesh and Carnosus. I would also like to add the finnish band Corpsessed, although they formed in 2007. They did not release anything official until 2011, but last years "Succumb to Rot" is too good to leave them out of my reccommendations. Keep up the good work! 🤘
Thank you! And thanks for the list. I'm familiar with several of them and need to educate myself on the others. I'm going to do a Part 2 eventually and will probably feature a few of these names.
For new death metal fans out there or fans of Phrenelith, Hyperdontia, Blood Incantation, check out these bands (if you like Dark Descent you'll know several of these) : Warp Chamber / profound lore Universally Estranged / blood harvest Demilich / xtreem music Sepulcré (Crused Ways of Sheol)/invictus Krypts / DD Ataraxy / DD Chaotian / DD Spectral Voice / DD Gorguts (the erosion of sanity, considered dead) Ossuary (supreme degradation) Congealed Putrescence Scolex Chthonic Deity With so many bands now in existence and and easily accessible to the average Joe it can be overwhelming for newbies to sift through, so hope someone finds this comment useful!! Keep headbanging!!! 😈🤘
I liked one of their EPs but wasn't in love with their album when it came out. I admittedly haven't given them a listen in a while though. Altogether they're fine overall. I'd probably put them on B tier if I were rating them today.
Haven't listened to them enough to say. Just a few songs here and there. I did like what I heard but wasn't blown away. I did see them live about a year ago though - they put on a great show.
Sanguisugabogg surprisingly did it for me too on the new album. Otherwise, watching you video I realized that there isn't modern era DM band that I really love
Yeah, I was surprised how much I liked the new Sanguisugabogg. I hadn't been super pumped about anything else they'd put out, but the new one really hits a sweet spot for me. I agree that there's a lot more older death metal bands I love than newer ones. Although I guess that's pretty true of any genre. Time always tells who the real greats are.
I may add them to the next version, yeah. Regarding the band, I like the fact that there's a modern band doing Mortician-style stuff, but the samples they use just make my skin crawl. I get that death metal is supposed to be brutal, but at least with Mortician you know it's just clips from movies. Knowing that Fluids uses real-life samples just makes it feel a little more disturbing and less fun.
@Metal Vibez I absolutely understand your perspective. There is an underlying moral dilemma when listening to their music, specifically songs with samples. At the same time, though, are we allowed to decide what is and what isn't art? On the other hand, using those samples is a very real and horrifying look into things that have already happened. It has never felt "in poor taste" if that makes sense.
Gatecreeper, Frozen Soul, & 200 Stab Wounds obliterates every other band on this list. There’s a reason they’re more popular than Blood Incantation, Suffocation, or any other dm act that only relies on Cookie Monster vocals & playing your instruments as fast as possible. Some of us need groove or a good head banging d beat!
I enjoy Fallujah quite a bit this past decade, might include them if they are new enough to make the cut. Love the spacey, ethereal vibe. I would probably move Skeletal Remains up to A because of those guitar solos! Tomb Mold and Blood Incantation kill it on the atmosphere
I loved The Flesh Prevails when it came out, and The Harvest Wombs had some great stuff on it too. I wasn't big at all into Dreamless and haven't listened to anything they've done since. I was really impressed with them last time I saw them live though. I think it was on the 2019 Chaos and Carnage tour.
Need to give them a focused listen sometime. I sampled them when I saw they were opening for Morbid Angel, but I what I heard didn't really sound like my thing. I'll give them another shot sometime.
im not really a big fan of the maggot stomp style stuff. i think its a very hit or miss niche within death metal. however hard disagree with 200 and bogg placements. should be switched around imo. for me personally bogg doesnt really do much for me but something about stab wounds just hits. and if im being honest i feel like bogg kinda blew up overnight even harder than 200 did, and less organically too given how much clout they got off the zoomer crowd through memes. to each their own tho. tomb mold and blood inc are definite s tho im with you there. cant wait for both bands new releases this friday. i also think skeletal remains should be in a as well
Next video include Necrot, Cerebral Rot, Mortiferum, Hath, Worm, and Witch Vomit.
And Undeath

is a Really Good band
I completely agree I think they combine the best parts of lots of genres imo. Prob my top 3 rn.
@@ghostnode538 the whole Ohio death metal scene is killing it right now, all those bands are sick
Hung with them once. Super dope dudes. Also, Frozen Soul is also the nicest band I have ever talked to. They're like "Today we randomly decided to feed the homeless" kind of nice.
I love how you described them as "fucks."
Have to disagree on the 200 STABWOUNDS take, it was my favourite album from that year, really digging the mix of death metal with the hardcore grooves without going the death core route. But otherwise very agreeable list.
I respectfully disagree with you about 200 stab wounds.. their debut is a blast in my opinion! Other than that solid tier list.
Cool video. Gutted you don't like Frozen and 200. My opinion is literally the opposite on Frozen Soul!!! RIFFS FOR DAYS... The guys of metal and the diversity of it all. I subbed and look forward to more videos!
Nice vid, cool series. But yes I do believe 200 Stab Wounds will grow on you😉
Two DM debuts from last year that I really liked.
Phobophilic & Vacuous
100% with you on Blood Incantation.
Nice! I'll have to check those out. I think I listened to a bit of Phobophilic and was pretty intrigued.
Totally agree. Two amazing albums by these bands, on my top 20 list from last year. 🤘
Which Vacuous? There is a UK band called Vacuous that shits all over the US one. Check out their album Dreams of Dysphoria.
@@Cappah thats the one. Banger central.
@@peterock4210 Respect man. The opening track is unreal!

For new death metal fans out there or fans of Phrenelith, Hyperdontia, Blood Incantation, check out these bands (if you like Dark Descent you'll know several of these) :
Warp Chamber / profound lore
Universally Estranged / blood harvest
Demilich / xtreem music
Sepulcré (Crused Ways of Sheol)/invictus
Krypts / DD
Ataraxy / DD
Chaotian / DD
Spectral Voice / DD
Gorguts (the erosion of sanity, considered dead)
Ossuary (supreme degradation)
Congealed Putrescence
Scolex
Chthonic Deity

My favourite new death metal band is Vomit Forth recently. What do you think of their mix of death and hardcore?
I have heard their name but haven't listened to them. Time to correct that!
Keep up with the good work! Rank my favorite band next: DEATH
Death will certainly be coming at some point!
🔥🍻
200 stab wounds did not deserve C tier
Going to see Blood Incantation next month with Immolation and Obituary, cant wait
Me too! Should be a great show.
Where do you stand on Creeping Death?
I liked one of their EPs but wasn't in love with their album when it came out. I admittedly haven't given them a listen in a while though. Altogether they're fine overall. I'd probably put them on B tier if I were rating them today.
Where do you stand on. Undeath

man, you are the most well dressed metalhead ive ever seen.
Basically having a memorable song is an instant S tier. Sorta agree.
If you can't remember the songs, then you don't like the band.
What do you think of Zous if you've heard them? One of the most slept on bands rn imo
Haven't heard of them. I'll have to give them a listen.
Clicked to see where you had Tomb Mold and Gatecreeper, exactly where they should be😄
What about Fluids?
I may add them to the next version, yeah. Regarding the band, I like the fact that there's a modern band doing Mortician-style stuff, but the samples they use just make my skin crawl. @@BrownStore I agree. I don't think they use the samples in poor taste, but they do hamper my personal enjoyment of their music.

Glad you like them. Maybe Frozen Soul and 200 Stab Wounds will grow on me more over time.
Frozen Soul is missing solos. Some bands can pull it off on riffs only, but not Frozen Soul imo
Lol stfu heather. Like you know shit about suffocation
Little late but I'd definitely include Horrendous, Necrot and Undeath for this whole modern wave of death metal in the next teir list

Morbidity from Chicago is gurgling some awesomeness
Love 200 stab wounds personally
Also love Tribal Gaze
Tomb Mold got a new album out✌
No creeping death????
Why does everything sound like a question?
Adore 200 stab wounds, yet I do agree that I also prefer the EP to the album.
But even still I’ve seen them live and my god they kill live 👏
I actually think Gatecreeper is the most boring one of the bunch
200 Stan Wounds Frozen Soul Sanguisugabogg fucking rule
Where's Crypta?!
Need to give them a focused listen sometime. I sampled them when I saw they were opening for Morbid Angel, but I what I heard didn't really sound like my thing. I'll give them another shot sometime.
Crypta is not great super cliche uninteresting riffing
gotta follow the entire ranking to get those moniker
Where’s Undeath!
Part 2!
spectral voice, fetid, hyperdontia, morbific, fluids

need some cerebral rot in this!
I'll include them in Part 2!
Where’s Undeath
Gatecreeper, 200 stab wounds, skeletal remains, sanguisugabogg are all S tier bands the rest are all C tier bands
Also. Inhuman condition.
I liked their first album quite a bit, though it's not something I've spent a whole lot of time with. Haven't listened to their second one yet.
can’t believe you forgot about incest breath smh ;-;
Nah frozen soul C?
Tomb Mold - vocals are very muddy
You’re missing some very relevant bands. Torture Killer for example…..
So basically, you don't like new wave of death metal, ok...
