The author that got me into Roman/British history back in 1975 was Rosemary Suticliffe. I read Eagle of the Ninth and since that time I've read almost all of her books by my mid - twenties. I strongly recommend the idea of getting adolescences into history is to get them to read good quality and well written historical fiction.
I don't know if you will see this but.....Hey Erica, new subscriber here.. I was just curious with Stephen Fry's Mythos book, does it also talk about the different creatures from Greek mythology like minotaurus, cyclops, Etc...? I know it references the gods and myths but what else?
Hi Erica. I'm enjoying going through your content on the classics. I'm finding It quite inspirational in fact. Way back when I was in college the classics were my favorites as well and still are. I'm now reading through Nonnus's Dionysiaca and Diodorus Siculus's Histories and I was just wondering if you've studied that materal as well. I'm finding them fascinating. Cheers
i just finished, its so good, i like hows she like ok most people know the ending to the trojan myth, how do we subvert the journey to the conclusion while keeping certain beats intact
