First like, view and comment. Yay. Love the silver tray and foil paper 1:03 spin super. I remember granny Kathy and bro August whenever I see a spin these days.
It’s really funny because so many people have trouble with us and it’s such an easy solution. Thanks for doubling back and making sure you watched it and I have so appreciate your support.!😘
Thank you so much Melissa😘😘 for finding me and subscribing. I’d like to work mostly in functional art, I love to make serving trays, lazy Susan’s coasters, clocks, charcuterie, boards, cheeseboards, and the really cool thing I’ve just started playing around with my Art fusions. I’m glad you’re here and hopefully you’ll pick up a thing or two. Everything I show on a functional Art is also something you can do on a canvas. Always leave me some questions if you have any.
Wow! Another great idea, Louise!!! One that I have been wanting to ask you for a long time LOL so glad I found this one...😉😊🤩 Have you ever thought of making a video series of your work, and how each teaching moment came to be??? I'd be interested in this for sure!!! Just a thought 😉
Wow Jude, that’s a great idea. And there have been epiphany moments along the way. This will need thought but I can’t guarantee it’s fruition. Let me mull, great idea tho😘 even with this one I remember the conscious thought that led me there…
Thank you again Mrs. C and welcome. I think your new here. I’m glad you’re finding my videos helpful and just so you know I do have a bunch of playlists. If you check out my TH-cam page check out my playlist as I have a lot of my creations broken down by category. I have a lot of functional art, such as coasters, lazy, Susans, clocks, Jars, and ornaments.
Thanks for the tip!!!! I use a shower cap to cover my spinner but the idea of the short cup under the coaster is genius!!!! I always just used to use a dribble of paint to hold the coaster down , but its a PITA to get it up and clean the drips. Your way is much cleaner!! TFS
Thank you, you don’t need to worry about double sticky tape. Once you spin it a few times, the paint will flow and stick that to the spinner. Just don’t go crazy on the first two spins.! Lol
Your videos are so informative and easy to follow - thank you! Your color palettes are beautiful! How do you finish the bottoms/backs of your coasters and clocks?
Thank you Dakota baby, for the backs of the clocks I just spray paint them with either white or black, matte color to finish them off. For the coasters, a sand down the edges, a little bit and then cork the back I do have a little video on that near the end it talks about .corking, and here is the link. th-cam.com/video/VQtaI7kUtGk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=orcltkmHI6jch9fm
I’ve always wonder what the thing in the middle of your spinner was. Never would have guessed it was a yogurt cup! And I also assumed you taped or glued it on. Your dog is adorable!
I have no ideas what Nooss is 😁. I use a silicone split cup I got for spinning tiles. It holds the tile nicely. I actually got a 100 pack of shower caps to cover my spinner. Works great if you don't have foil.
@@LouiseMcKayArt ah Noosa is yogurt. I was missing out on something everyone knew what it was lol. I figured out the silicone after having a flying tile experience lol Its grippy and holds them well.
Clever idea! So, we have to make a mold of the spinner with the container on it. I wonder if one can use some clay to keep the container in place. Haven’t tried it.
@@LouiseMcKayArt oh, I was just reacting to how easily you put the thing with the container onto the spinner - like a hat! Assumed it was dried paint. I have winter storms spinner. So, was thinking of the clay idea. Anyway, you are right the container will stay in place with paint.
Originally, I had it on three sides now I don’t have it because I clean up as I go Good idea thank you, I’m sorry for the short answer, but I’m preoccupied with the Asheville disaster right now.
Hi Louise. Thank you for this video. I am about to receive my new spinner and am after all the advice I can get. Do you have any tips on using such a spinner with canvases? I have subbed to your channel. Thanks again, Alison Hood
Hi Alison and thanks for subbing! 💕 small canvas as you can just place on top. For larger canvases, here is an example, At time 4:28 of this video th-cam.com/video/icbHy_gVwDI/w-d-xo.html I show simply using 2 same sized sticks to place the canvas on. (checking level). there are artists that offer enlarged spinner arms however, I don’t have them. @winterstromart sells spinners that she creates and there are others out there as well. I hope this helps….
@@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you Louise. I just watched the full video you gave me the link to. Wonderful.💖 Sorry to keep asking, but if you don't mind, I am wondering how, or if, you attach the rods to the spinner? The rods look heavy, so maybe gravity holds them in place. What did you use to help the canvas not to move when spinning? It sounded like the rods were sticky as they made a sound when you removed the board and when you removed the canvas. Was it double sided tape or similar? Thank you, Alison
@@artwithalison thanks again and I think I did tape them to the spinner, but never to the canvas. Heck I don’t even have double sided tape! It’s been a while…

Ha ha I remember the flying tile!!! 🤣🤣
I have tons of those Noosa cups because I save them to mix my paint in. Now I have another great use!
They work, 💕a couple coasters then the paint stick em!
That's great ❤😊
Thank you! Cheers!💕
Teamwork! I loveit!👏😂❤️🐾
Thanks Roulette, with that name, you should appreciate non-flying coasters off of spinning things😂
Amazing acrylic painting... Have a wonderful day... Thumb's up 😊 3:24
Watched this the other day when it first came out, Louise. Thought I'd left a comment, but enjoyed hearing how you safely spin!

@@LouiseMcKayArt haha pun intended right?
I use a grated cheese container from TJ’s 😂 although I haven’t bloomed in quite a while so your yogurt container is quite cool!
Thanks Donna, 😘hey, whatever works!
I don’t remember seeing this one Louise…but great tips!

Great,no trip to the hardware store necessary….lol what tips we all come up with to get the job done well.
Yeah, and you get to enjoy the product first…and of course share with the doggie!
That is such a genius idea I would have never thought of that or how about use double stick tape to adhere the nuso cup to the aluminum foil

I noticed the cardboard, I would imagine to keep the paint from hitting everything when you spin. Do you just have it in one side or on 3?
