If you have a fishing product you like and would recommend, drop a comment and help everyone out! Few more of my recommendations in the description of the video.
In the description you should add a couple of items for surf fishing! Rod holders, leaders, bait buckets, knifes. All good cheap gifts for the holidays! Fish on man!
There's lots of different types of equipment but to catch fish in around the Gulf there's only one product I can recommend that will guarantee that even a newbie will have some success, and it wasn't even mentioned but it's so simple, namely become a subscriber and and Patreon member to Thresher Fishing. 👍
@@pakde8002 that’s true, if it weren’t for thresher and a few other fishing content creators, i may have stopped fishing years back. Watching his videos, meeting him at the tackle shops and out on the jetty kept me in the sport and will probably ensure I fish for life!
Had to reupload due to video being cut off. I've had to reupload like 30% of my videos this year. Need to fix that, almost as bad as dak prescott's interception rate.
You are the best and always provide a lot of knowledge and insight, especially for us who still considers themselves noobs. Keep up the great work and happy holidays!
Great video, Love the bloopers at the end. Great gift ideas. I hope the fam is watching. I'm glad to see you posting videos more regularly again. Keep them coming. I hope you have a merry Christmas
Really appreciate you putting your gear recommendations in a video. Also very nice touch of listing the product name in the picture instead of just showing a package for a lure or other item. Appreciate your contact and merry Christmas and have a happy new year from San Antonio.
A lure I recommend is the old gold Johnson 3/4 oz weedless spoon. It casts like a bullet and you can cover a ton of water. The best part is that redfish annihilate it. I always thought it to be kind of a boring lure but then I gave it a real shot. I was shocked at how effective it was. I think it gets overlooked because it is such an old bait and there isn't anything special about it. Definitely one of my favorite lures nowadays.
Recently I've been enjoying the vudu shrimp specifically the brown color. Thanks to a recent video by Ty Southernland (30milesOut) and have been finding success with it. Catching everything from both red and black drum, trout, and sheepshead. Weather its tied directly or on a popping cork both ways have been producing fish.
For a nearly indestructible, cheap spin cast reel, I love the Shimano 2000 or 2500 series. They are nearly 100% composite and do not rust or corrode even on the Laguna Madre where the salinity is way higher than most of the Gulf coast.
Merry Christmas. By coincidence I saw those Lil Jons on sale recently and I bought those two exact colors along with Golden Bream . I hope that you get your truck situation fixed in thee coming year.
I really wanna see you use that big spoon again. Just think, there could be even bigger kings or huge tarpon lurking around and that's what you need to get it
@ThresherFishing , have you thought about getting a sponsorship/promo from Roy’s or a big tackle shop to push product? Wouldn’t mind you pushing lures that work if you got a discount for it.
Great video bro! I was a penn guy but I switched to shimano and apart from the saragosa being smooth its also light and built better. I like the sealing on the saragosa over the slammer. And when it comes to shimano AR clutch its fairly easy to reassemble.
I have a pretty beefy Ugly Stik from early 2000s but its like brand new. Model number SP 1101 to be exact. Its 6' 6" medium heavy with reinforced rod guides. Wondering what size reel and line would pair well with this and what kind of saltwater fishing would it be good for. I primarily fish freshwater so kind of lost here.
If y'all are looking for a good quality combo that'll last decades, a slammer iv or III, on a Penn carnage rod, great combo, sadly kind of expensive, but a cheaper one, go with a Penn fierce like 5-6000 on a Penn battalion, stuff like that would be a good size

I'll be coming in this Thursday through Monday. If it's too cold, I'll just drop my line and stay in my truck if I need to, but I do have heated gloves and insoles ready.

What's your opinion about the j-braid grand? From what I can tell it's way better than normal j-braid...
Everyone should have a good set of pliers

I can’t thank you enough for sharing these pearls of wisdom!!! 👊🏼
Hi Cooper on that lil john when the red fish and trout are a little finicky you can cut it down to a 2" and a lighter jig head. works good for me.
Great list! Thanks for putting it all together!!!
Merry Christmas Mr Thresher! God Bless 🤙🏻🇨🇦

Love your Christmas tree 🎄
Let’s get an updated vid !!!!
dope video!
Great video.
So what brand and type and weight of liter line do you use on the penn series set up?
Great video bro! I was a penn guy but I switched to shimano and apart from the saragosa being smooth its also light and built better. I like the sealing on the saragosa over the slammer. And when it comes to shimano AR clutch its fairly easy to reassemble.
I'll switch to Shimano or Daiwa when they pry my Penn from my cold, dead, crusty hand.

Would have been a perfect video to put up affliate links to these products and make a bit extra! Great info though, I appreciate it!
