And yes, the Hashira clearly have reasons to hate demons, they've been in a brutal berserker war for years, it's like if someone had a xenomorph as a pet (the things from alien).
And yes, they're the highest rank, but not for their leadership, but because they're powerful fighters, and as you'd expect, that means they're strong willed and passionate, extreme personalities who've been conditioned for one thing and one thing alone, killing demons.
I think we misunderstood the hierarchy’s structure and yeah it’s been a while since we watched but either in this discussion or next episode I acknowledge how the Hashira have a point

@@surajkarki3511 Well the manga broke sales not because of the manga itself but the anime was really good which is why the manga gain a lot of recognition in the first place. I was a person who read the manga before the anime even came out there wasn’t like an insane amount of people talking about the manga. Also I do agree that the story isn’t shitty but it isn’t like great either, just average in my opinion.
They kinda overuse it though. Like they overuse the love girls quirk. She doesnt need to be in love every single millisecond she is on screen. It just gets annoying
The kanji on the Wind Hashira's back is "Kill", which is a bit different then the blades which say "Destroy". Just a little detail which add to his hot-headed nature.
The Hashira don't want there to be a moment in the future where they can say "If I had just killed her back then this person would still be alive right now".

Something to point out is that the master is so respected that he literally brings the best of each demon slayer. Even Tanjiro got surprised for the change in Sanemi´s behavior (the wind hashira) when the master appeared. He became way more polite and looked way more rational.
What a lot of commentors here forget is they probably had the exact same reaction to the Hashiras as you guys are having for the first time. We learn their backstories in time, but at this point we can only assume what they went through to feel the way they do towards demons. So it's only natural for a new person to be like "yo dudes/dudettes, chill out with the beheading stuff". I know I felt that way.
I'm really enjoying these uncut full-length reaction/reviews. It's going to be a shame when you're done with this series.

Thank you! I think a lot of people for this show as well as others such as Rezero get mad at us because we are anime only and they forget that there is no possible way we could know all the stuff they know. A lot of people are like “well if you only knew this characters backstory you wouldn’t be reacting this way” Of course we wouldn’t but also how could we know something that hasn’t been brought up yet. Also glad you are enjoying the uncuts!!

it's pretty obvious that they have valid reasons for what they do, the only reason you don't see it like that is because you know Nezuko, i mean you see it perfectly with Giyu, he knows then and he knows they are no danger, but do you think if Giyu would just have met them he would react like this? don't think so
Shinazugawa is a great Character with a tragic heartbreaking backstory.

Hashiras were 100% right, Tanjiro is kinda in the wrong for being so naive. He most def broke like rule#1 by travelling with a demon. Anything after that is his fault tbh because it’s their organization and there rules

We know only the extremely strong and clever ones survive so I respect their words. Also I don't think we need to tell them spoilers, manga readers know hashiras and love them but BOLDcast see them for the first time. Let them react freely however it's hard to watch LOL
Yeah, the character tags are really exaggerated when characters in DS are first introduced, but they usually calm down a bit after a while.
Same thing with Zenitsu and his screaming cowardice, Zenitsu with his aggression, Shinobu with her creepiness, etc.
And yes, the test may not be 100% fair, but what you're not getting is that this isn't a "to the preponderance of the evidence" type situation. It's not like there are two equally likely scenarios there for them to choose from. Is Nezuko more likely to be dangerous? Or not?
To them, right now, Nezuko is a demon, and it's as if someone were to have a freaking velocirapter running around their garden, it's not all good until the safety is proven one way or the other, like with all safety measures, it's tested and strained to the utmost limits of what might conceivably happen and beyond, and if after all that, it's still safe, THEN you're allowed to keep it.
It sucks, but Nezuko should be held to higher standards, they need to be absolutely sure.
Shinobu was immaculate from the start
so just so you know, Sanemi the scars dude has the most potent marechi blood ever, so much so it can basically drug demons, dulling their senses and making them target him at the same time, just from the smell, including the upper moons (this info was cut outta the anime in these scenes)
so thats why he cuts himself specifically to taunt her instead of just bringing her out infront of him
Shinobu is actually the most reasonable one. She's willing to listen to Tanjiro's story and wait for the leader. She also stands up for Tomioka
Hashiras have all the rights to hates demons, you have to look at the scene from their pov not as a " anime spectator ", of course we know that nezuko is special, this knowledge is a 4th wall breaking
I just wanted to point out something about the Hashira. Most of the people in the Demon Slayers Corp have seen some shit. For them to just trust in Nezuko that she won’t kill anyone is easier said then done.

We spent so much time with Tanjiro and Nezuko that I think we, as viewers, are biased towards Nezuko. That's probably why we immediately got on Shinazugawa's case when he stabbed Nazuko. We probably wouldn't be doing that if she was just some random demon that someone else was protecting.
Serpent Hashira isnt blind in one eye. It's just a rare occurrence where one eye is a different color than the other. The Stone Hashira is blind though. Also the fact that Nezuko didnt want Sanemi's a blood is a huge deal since he has rare blood called Marechi.
The serpent hashira is actually partially blind in his right eye though. His snake helps him cover his weaker side. Please see chapter 194.

Actually when I watched the anime I felt the same way everyone here most likely read the manga (same with me too) when u go deeper into the story u get a better story. Also mini spoiler
the boss isnt really the boss he looks at himself as hes lower then the slayers but everyone just respect him on that pedestal
1. Oyakata-sama doesn’t really issue orders or commands per se. Think of the pillars + the leader as more of a council. They deliberate and agree to things democratically. There’s no obligation for any of the pillars to agree with what he says or obey without question. The rules are more like guidelines and can be bent if needed, which is why they discuss amongst themselves whether or not it should be pardoned.
2. The pillars genuinely have no reason to believe Tanjiro and Nezuko at this point. They have never seen a good demon and have no solid evidence beyond hearsay to prove that Nezuko actually is any different. They’re rightfully suspicious of her.
Sanemi has a lot of experiences, and he is right into no trusting in everyone . and I only want so say, Sanemi is my favorite Pillar Ever!
The comparison between the Hashiras and Levi Squad is very apt, I think. Remember how they were ready to murder Eren at the drop of a hat and Levi said that's exactly why he chose them, because they're only lived so long because they can think on the fly and independently. Or maybe to a hammer everything looks like a nail, perhaps.
Well, to be fair, I’m sure pretty much every Hashira has had bad experiences with demons. But also, distrusting demons is not dumb or stupid. Also, the Hashiras are just the strongest demon slayers, they aren’t particularly disciplined. They’re just strong, passionate, driven.
Also I realise that this comment has probably been written a million times in the comments. But also, you do have to remember that these guys are the Hashiras, they’re ridiculously confident in themselves and pretty much just see demons as enemies, one of the reasons they have survived is probably because their immediate response to seeing demons is ‘Kill’.
You’re right it’s a fellowship the demon slayers are under no obligation to obey the master they simply choose to do so. And yes the hashiras do not want to trust a demon because it’s ludicrous, they have faced hundreds of demons and have experienced the evil of demons first hand.

I think their view is justified. They have seen all of Tanjiro's backstory and are bias towards him whether they are trying to be or not. Just like how everyone who has read the manga knows that each of the Hashira have their own problems that they are dealing with and are a little bias towards their favorites. It is all in perspective. But it is to be said that the two with the most horrific backstories are the ones who hate demons the most.

In the dub, the stone Hashira has Itachi's voice. And Giyu has Sasori's voice. And since you've already seen Attack on Titan, Levi's voice actor played the master. I've never heard that voice actor play a role like that before.
Why is everyone coming at them so hard? they had the same reaction tht i had when i saw this ep for the first time. Before i got to knw all of there backstory I genuinely hated all of them for acting the way they did this ep (except the luv harisha tht is) Him stabbing Nezuko nd showing her blood is equivalent to shoving drugs in the nose of a drug addict.
I think a lot of people who have read the manga forget that anime only people don’t have the same information they do.
