- Hello everyone! In this video you'll see the apartment that I'll be living in for the duration of my Erasmus in Bucharest. Sooo what more can I say, welcome inside my little nest ahah
I hope you'll enjoy this video, and let me know what you think :)
Hi everyone! Martina here ✨
This video has somehow gotten so many views, I was really not expecting it! Thanks to everyone who is watching! Some of my recent videos have around 100/200 views, but all the others have like 30/50 views 😂
If you liked this apartment tour, maybe you could consider watching something else too on my channel! I have new stuff coming soon 💖
The apartment has the basics of everything you need. It doesn’t even seem that crowded. Your own little corner of the world!
Agreed! It really is my little corner ✨ of course there are a couple of things that I wish were different buuuut life here is still pretty good!
It even has laundry! That window lets in a lot of good light. Happy you found a place that works for you.
This might be surprising, but all the apartments I looked at in Bucharest had laundry! Some didn't have a kitchen at all, or didn't have a bed (just pull out couch) but still had laundry 😂😂 it seems like the top priority
@@martinafacose Very surprising 😁
@@bonniepwtf In Romania it's actually very uncommon to not have laundry :) We don't have laundromats at all (I guess the culture of laundromats didn't catch here I guess). I had a shock when I went to the states and saw people wash their clothes where others have. To me that's just crazy 😅
@@candycolor10 ☺️
For Paris size, this is huge. I did not expect the bedroom, I just thought you slept on the couch. Looks great, have fun in Bucarest
Ouch, Paris standards sound a bit crazy 😂 thank you 💞
@@martinafacose how much is the rent?
350. I consider it quite expensive, but if you've seen my videos you'll know I was desperate ahah. I know in Paris rent is really expensive though
@@martinafacose It’s actually not that expensive if it’s in a good location, I would imagine you are in short distance/have good metro connection to the University. It does have everything you need, including washing machine, AC, etc. Being an older video Idk if you still live there but I hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your stay.
Here is New York this style is called a micro loft. They are very in demand for people that do not want roommates. They also can be quite expensive. You are very lucky to have such a great apartment. Many happy days in your wonderful little home.
Yeah I'm really lucky to have found this place. Thank you 💖
You have a lovely apartment! And for a student, you actually have way more room than I would've expected. Congrats on finding something that you like, even if your towel probably gets wet every time you take a shower. 😂
I think this vid is getting so many views because we're not used to seeing apartment tours from Eastern Europe as much as tours from Western Europe and North America. It's nice to get a glimpse of how other folks live.
And ignore all those folks whining about your language. I appreciate the honest and free spirit nature of how you express yourself. Plus, this is your channel. You can do what you want. Great vid! 👍
Hey! Yeah, I think if you compare this to a student dorm room it's a lot of space! But this place was not designed for students, that's why it's considered very small compared to the average size of apartments here 😂 And to be honest, it's a new construction so it doesn't really reflect the "Eastern style" (not saying that there's a unitary style in all Eastern European countries, but similarities do exist!)
Also, thanks for appreciating my honesty ahahah💖. I just decided when I opened the channel that I would not try to project any kind of image except for who I am. That's also why sometimes I film without doing my hair or with ugly outfits, I'm not about to pretend I'm put together all the time 😂😂
I agree. I live in Zagreb, capital of Croatia in a cozy 150sq feet apt and all my friends love it😂 Its small but just like this girl, I have everything I need, I live in a really nice neighbourhood in a city center, have all the stores, food market, everything in a walking distance.
@martinafacose
I respect you the way you feel comfortable 💯 👌 ✨️ 😊.
Nice place & cherish it.
I would rent 1 like this visiting Romania.🇷🇴
Great people.❤ Thank you. 🎉😊
I think that it's a charming apt. and it's in great condition. It's like a tiny house, where lofts are a common feature. Enjoy your studies in Paris.
Yeah it's really a tiny house😂 Only one thing, I'm actually in Bucharest, Romania, not in Paris💞💞
i wouldnt want to climb those stairs after a few glasses of wine
Ahahah been there done that 😂
I would have to sleep downstairs and keep upstairs as the office for when I’m caffeinated. 😂
A lovely home, with everything you need, including a washing machine and AC!! Love the light from the window and the loft. Good luck!
Yeah! Even though I don't think I'll ever use the AC, the electricity bill is crazy 😭
Lol, yeah congrats an be careful on those ridiculous loft steps 😮😊
Your apartment is SO CUTE!!!! At 60 yrs old I'd probably kill myself trying to go up the stairs to your front door, but once inside it would be grand! Thank you for giving your tour. Can hardly wait to see what special touches you put into the place. 💖💖💖 By the way, can you tell us how much the rent is? Thank you
Hi! Honestly, I've come close to killing myself on those stairs when I have a big suitcase or when it's wet out, so I understand 😂 but yeah, the place is really nice 💖 Rent is a bit expensive for my standards, it's 350€/month, but I get a scholarship for doing Erasmus so it's alright!
So that’s $380 USD.
That is actually the same floor plan as a young woman in Tokyo, but it is at least 3 times as big as hers and she pays $600
"who the f*ck is there? its me" funniest thing ever😂
It has already happened once😂😂
Ikr… that part had me dying laughing.😂😂
Meh
💀🤣 That was real.
Hey there😊 i dont know how i got to your channel, but i enjoyed the video. I think your new place is super cute, cant wait to see it all decorated!!from Texas, US
Heyy✨ honestly I also don't know how most people got here ahahah, until a couple of months ago I had 20 views on average 😂 I'm glad you enjoyed!! 💖
It’s a very small place. I too am in a studio. I lost my apartment & had to live with family for 5 years. I didn’t care for it. When I got my studio I was as happy to have a place of my own. Been here going on 5 years & I still really like it. We have free laundry in laundry room that’s open 24/7 if I could change something it would be washer in dryer in my apartment. I see there’s a second floor which is nice
Congratulations on getting your own place, I'm happy you're enjoying it. I feel you, I also don't enjoy living with family, being independent is much better ✨
I love how cloistered it is. So European. The loft is bigger than expected.
I think the very high ceiling gives the impression that it's really spacious! Well it's a good thing 😂✨
Just found you. I like your style. Very cozy apt...I know you'll add some wonderful touches soon. Happy for you in finding this little niche of your own.😊
Thank you very much!! 💖
Sure beats many of the Japanese micro apartments seen on You Tube!!
Oh for sure! The place is not bad at all 💞
It’s a great spot to find. It’s great to have your bedroom space separate ((as someone who has lived in several studio apartments).
I totally agree! Before I've always lived in shared accomodations (sometimes in flats, sometimes in dorms) and I realize I always stayed in the same space to sleep, study and do everything else. Here I've got a pretty good separation between the night area and the day area. I like it!
Will you post a video showing how you set up your apartment? It’s nice to see what people have created in their own little space.
Hey! Eventually I will make a video like that, yeah. But I have a bit of different content that I will post first 💞
The bathroom is workable! Get a tension rod, they are a few dollars, put it in the bathroom door frame and hang your towel there when showering, it will stay dry and you can just take it out when you are done. Easy as pie. You may also use it to hand a few items on to dry after washing them.
Hey! There is already a place to hang the towel on the bathroom door, honestly that is not a big issue! Bigger problems are, for example, the fact that taking a shower completely floods the toilet, the floor and the sink, so after showering I have a good 4 hours when the bathroom is just a pool😂 and nothing ever dries because it's such a small space that it remains really humid 😂
@@martinafacoseHere I am thinking a wet room would be so much easier to clean. Can you get a flexible shower head you can direct the flow? And/or a high powered fan you can place in front of the entrance?
The shower head is detachable so there's no problem with cleaning! It's just that being a very small and closed space, it doesn't dry and it's very humid. After a shower the floor can remain wet for the whole day. Sooo either I clean and dry every single time I use the bathroom, or the floor is going to be a mess 😂
@@martinafacoseMost people have to dry the bathroom after every use if you dont want a mould problem. A squeegee rubber blade will clear the water in no time.
Thankfully I haven't had any issues with mould so far! Honestly I'm just waiting for spring weather so I can keep the window open all the time and speed up the drying naturally ahahah
hey! i’m also living in bucharest so seeing this pop up in my recommendations was very fun. i hope you’ve been enjoying the apartment as much as possible! it’s pretty tiny but the loft seems to add a lot. hope you’ve enjoyed romania so far!
Apart from some difficulties in the winter, I've enjoyed the apartment very much! And Romania has been amazing as well 💞
She is so cute when she gets excited about the stairs and the upstairs! That is just like me!
Ahahhaha thanks a lot! Yeah I do get excited 😂💞
What a cute and very nice apartment. The bedroom upstairs is really nice. Congratulations! :)
Thank you very much! 💖
The bedroom is great, what a lovely addition.
You are funny! I really enjoyed the tour, thanks.
Thank you very much 😊
Such a perfect lil apt. Has everything you need to be comfortable. Congratulations 🤗
Thank you very much! 💞
Great score! Good for you! I think it's lovely and adorable.
Thank you!! 💞
🎉congratulations on your new apartment, so very special. Enjoy your life’s journey 😇
Thank you very much! 💞
Can’t believe you have a washer. Cute apartment!
This is a fun fact, ALL the apartments I saw in Bucharest has a washer. Literally all of them. Some didn't have a kitchen or a bed, but always a washer!! 😂
You are fortunate to have found such a nice studio. It seems to have most of what you need. You can make it your own and anything that is not your taste, give it back to the owner for storing. Make sure you have good lighting when arriving back home in the dark. If no good lighting, purchase a flashlight so you can make it up your stairs without an accident. Enjoy!
Yeah I'm very lucky to be here! The only thing that would make it really perfect is a slightly bigger bathroom. But there are so many positive things that at the end of the day I'm 100% satisfied 💖
Buy a high luminous flashlight 🔦 for when you come home in the dark alleyway. It’ll help you on the staircase too. I would think it would be more secure for you. 😊❤
I've been using the flashlight from my phone! Without it I can't make it up the staircase ahahah
@@martinafacose Buy one of those flashlights that goes on your forehead and has a band around your head to hold it on. You can then go up and down the stairs and use both your hands.
I would love to have one of those flashlights, but to be completely honest I would forget it home 6 days out of 7, then the 7th day I would be too lazy to put it on just for a few seconds 😂💞
Looks great. Love the bedroom and the storage.
The storage is actually very good! I just wish I had a shelf for my books, cause I feel bad closing them in a closet of something 😂
I really enjoyed your tour , your personality shined throughout . Hi from Alaska 😊
Thank you! I've always wanted to visit Alaska!💕
I love your apartment, so special to have your own space. I lived for three years in a shower room like that, I adapted quickly and I am sure you have too by now. Best wishes.
Thanks a lot! Yeah I'm adapting quickly, even though I'll admit that I sometimes miss having a dry bathroom floor😂
I’m happy you’re comfy and safe.
Thank you 💖
There are people who quite happily live in their cars. Comfortably.
Well that couldn't be me because I don't have a car to live in 😂
Wow, this is super cute! The loft bedroom really makes it so much better. Best wishes to you in your new space! ^_^
Thank you very much! Yeah, the loft bedroom is a game changer here 💓
Hello, Martina, from Pennsylvania in the United States! I love your home. Thank you for the great tour! 😊
Heyyy thanks a lot! ✨
I was going to suggest getting a Japanese style futon so that the coach remains a couch, and then you revealed the stairs!
... surprise!! 🎉😂
Similar to micro apts in Japan but way more furnished. In Japan the micro apts have a kitchen, shower, toilet, induction cooktop, sometimes washer and fridge. Very good find for the apartment if you are not afraid of heights for the loft area.
Thank you! Yeah I'm lucky not to be afraid of heights ahah
Congrats on your apartment!! It’s really cute!! Love your accent and personality.❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I've been wondering if people notice my accent a lot 😂
Great space! I watch lots of New York apartments and Paris videos, so I imagine that’s how your video ended up at the top of my YT feed. Looking forward to an update on the apartment. If you are wanting some inspiration for vlogging, check out Jay Swanson. He does all things Paris, but I think you could do something similar for your city. I would love to learn more about your life and your corner of the world! I’m a 52 year old Canadian woman who is a teacher and sees the world through TH-cam (for now). Good luck with your channel!
Hey! Thanks a lot! I have some ideas for future content, also some vlogs, and I even have a bit of content filmed, but unfortunately I've been submerged by exams for a while and I haven't had any time for editing. I hope to get back soon! Also, I really hope you'll manage to see some more of the world in person too, good luck with that 💞
It’s lovely , it’s going to be great yours and you have your privacy to study and work . Never seen stairs like that , plenty of room and plenty of of room as you say cosy . Good luck .
Thank you very much 💕
Wonderful Apartment , lucky you!
Thank you!! 💕
It's really nice if you think about it it's really all you need I like the space
Yeah I agree! Thank you✨
You have a beautiful basic apartment just put your touch to it and make it you’re home
Yes I'm trying 💖💖
It just enough space! I like it.
Thank you 💖
This is quite good, you have a boiler and AC, many rentals don't have those. Just don't forget to take off your shoes at the entrance, you don't want dog poop remnants and gunk from the street.
It is really good I agree! Where I'm from we generally wear shoes in the house though ☠️
I love your apartment, I could definitely live there. Looks cosy
Thank you! It really is cosy✨
How does furniture get up your steps?
This really is very workable.
Take your time with it & enjoy.
Be careful with the steps, inside & out.
In all honesty, I don't know how they put the furniture in! The biggest object I've carried up myself has been my big suitcase (20kg) and that was already a struggle 😂💕
Could you share how much is your rent? the apartment is not bad at all. Hope you enjoy Bucharest
350€! It's a bit much for me, but yeah the apartment is very beautiful. I'm really enjoying Bucharest for now 💖
I like it ! Have fun can’t wait to see what you do with it❤
Thank you very much 💕
I made a small raised shelf for my microwave oven that way you can use counter a bit more
That's actually smart, I might think about it!💞
i totally love your home , theres so much you can do with it. you have so much storage space. put on some music and clean make it your own. i"m new to your chanel how long are you going to be there?
Originally I was going to be there just for six months, but a lot happened and I'm actually staying one year now! 💖
Congratulations!🎉 It's really cute. Get a flashlight for coming home at night, as well as a whistle and pepper spray. 🌶 I hope I see it decorated by you. Looking forward to seeing it. Chicago U of A. ❤😊
Thank you! Luckily Bucharest seems really safe so I've never needed pepper spray or anything like that so far 💕
Cute apartment in a cute building and nice neighborhood!!!
Thank you very much 💕
You go girl! Brave!
Thank you! 💞
Good luck in your studies & thanks for sharing!
Thank you!!
I love it!
Thank you ✨
That nice media unit from upstairs would look great on a main level instead of a chair & small coffee table IMHO 👍
I had to Google what "media unit" meant ahahha. Unfortunately it wouldn't fit where the coffee table is! It's hard to understand proportions from the video, but there's very little space left downstairs. I wouldn't be able to walk anymore if I occupied even more of the floor 😂
The apartment is cozy and nice but you can rent regular sized apartment in new building for the same amount of money, in Bucharest, Military district for example
I know there are cheaper places outside the center, but since I'm living in Bucharest short term I chose to prioritize the position of the apartment, so that I could reach my university easily by foot 🌷
Looks great I would love it
Bucharest is in a seismic area. Do you the risk degree for an earthquake for that old building
Well my apartment is actually really new, it's just the house next to it that is old. So I guess my neighbors would be the unlucky ones
Such a cute apartment, I could do so much with that.
I'm sure some very talented people could move a few things around and make this a dream place! I'm more likely to just slap some posters on the wall😂💞
Looking forward for update
Thanks! Hopefully soon🤞🏼🤞🏼
That’s actually a very nice small space. I have seen A LOT worse. The loft definitely helps. I do agree that the bathroom is the worst part.
The loft is really a lifesaver ahaha, mostly because of the bed. If I had to open up the couch to sleep I would need to give up on the desk, cause the room doesn't fit both!
I really dig that loft bedroom!
Thanks!!
Very nice apartment. It's perfect and your video was very well done.
Thanks a lot!
Girl, that is a pretty good deal, nice!
Thank you 💞💞
I was viewing your video because I was really interested in how the apartment might be. Just so you know, f..k is not a polite word. It is common among young people to use that word freely because it has become so accepted when they talk to their friends. It is never the best choice of words when expressing yourself, but you are free to choose. I choose not to follow your channel.
Hey! Of course, you're free not to follow, no hard feelings here 💞 I will most definitely choose to keep swearing. I don't find it universally impolite, I believe language is situational and it has a time and place. I have been a teacher before, of course I would've never thought of swearing in front of my students because that's not the place to do so. When I'm in my own home, I'm just being myself, and I don't see any reason to maintain formal language! So that's why swear words are going to pop in every now and then 😂✨
@@martinafacose Fair enough!😊
Thank you for commenting on the effects of using swear words when presenting this lovely little home.
It made the tour much less appealing to me... even tho it is "quite cute" as the new renter says.
It is equipped for accommodating nearly all a student is likely to need.
This is definitely cute, but you're paying most of that money for the location. By the architecture and style of build, this is in the central area.
But i do like how it's styled and furnished.
During college, i stayed in a dorm room with 3 other guys haha
Oh I know the location is very good!
I mentioned this in my previous videos about the apartment search, but I'm also used to living in dorms. I just had many bad flatmate experiences in the last few years and I needed a break 😂
What is the amount of rent per week or month for this cute lil studio?
For my budget it's a lot 😭 350€/month. But thankfully I have a scholarship ✨
How much is your rent in U.S. Dollars??? This place has so much potential.....Glad you found it.....The area seems beautiful
Sorry for the late reply, it's more or less 380$ ✨
this could be a really nice place to live! Lots of scope.
Thanks!!
Everything you need!
Yeah I agree 😂💖
Cute apartment.
Thanks! 💖
If you allowed, hang some outdoor lanterns from your stairs, so it won't be so dark
I would really love that!!
It looks like the popular Japanese apartments!
Yeah many people think so!! ✨
Cute little Apartment, I think you will enjoy it once. You put all of your personal touches inside. Please refrain if possible using profanity. It makes your vlogs much better to listen to and look at.
Hey! Than you for your very nice comment 💞 regarding profanity, unfortunately I don't think I can completely eliminate swearing because it's simply part of how I speak. I don't like the idea of changing the way I speak just for TH-cam, I feel that it would be disingenuous and also, at some point I would forget, I would swear in a video and everyone would be even angrier because I said I'd stop 😂
I will of course be respectful and I won't use very offensive language, slurs or anything like that cause I don't do it in real life, but for sure there's going to be a random "f*ck" or "sh*t" every now and then
It's sad that people don't consider the 'F' word offensive. It wasn't so long ago that the word would never be used on TV, in the workplace or in public, especially by a female.
I mean, until not so long ago "as a female" I wouldn't be able to show my naked knees or have a divorce without being considered offensive 😂 I'm really thankful to be alive now and not in the past 💞
I understand.
Very cute apartment!
Thanks 💞
I started watching your video and the minute you dropped th “F” bomb that was enough for me.
Well it's good that you stopped to the first one cause I said many more after! 😂💖
So you put stuff in storage before you moved in or just got rid of everything before you moved into a furnished place? Are you bringing anything into the studio, like a bike or tv or anything?
Hey! I'm living here for one year, so I'm not bringing anything more than just clothes and some things I need. I have the rest of my things in storage at my parents' place in Italy, but it's just old stuff, no furniture or anything ✨
@@martinafacose oh ok cool thanks! Yeah, I currently rent a room in a house and am always wondering what's going to happen to my stuff if I can only find furnished places to move into hehe . .enjoy your space!
I hope you'll figure it out! I've lived in about five different places and they've always been furnished, so I've never had to worry about that. Only once I didn't have a desk, so I borrowed my grandma's spare desk which I gave back when I moved 😂
@@martinafacose haha I see! Yeah, trying to! Don't want to move back to the mainland...a lot of that depends on stuff happening this week so I'm trying to stay positive:)
Good luck!! 🤞🏼
I wanted to see the whole video but I didn’t watch it because of the language 😢
If you still want to see the apartment you can mute the video and watch it at 2x speed 😂 But being serious, it's alright if you don't want to watch, if you are very against swearing probably my content is not for you💞
Super cute place!
Thanks!!
This would be perfect for me😉
It can be yours after I move out 😂💕
Love it
Thank you ✨
Is everything you need. The only thing I would change is to ask the owner/manager to put up a rope or something you can support yourself with going up the steps to your bedroom. That looks concerning... Best wishes to you. It's so nice a door opened so you aren't on the street.
It's really everything I need! Honestly, the steps are not so bad, but I still have to pay attention to them even after a few months going up and down every day😂 thanks and best wishes to you too!💞
Gorgeous mezzanine flat ❤
I’ll bet you can make it very charming.
I hope so! ✨
I love it!!
Thanks!! 💖💖
SuperDuper Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 🙌 💖
Thank you very much 🎉✨
its so cute there is alot you can do with it! how much rent do you pay?? I need to knooooooowwwww!!!
I pay 350€/month, which was literally my maximum budget so I'm crying inside a little bit😂 but it's okay, considering how hard it was to find a place to live I'll consider myself lucky!
@@martinafacose Too much, in Drumul Taberei you cand find a 2 rooms apartment with 350-370 EUR on month. And the space is kind of 45-60 square meters.
@@alexevo8016that looks like it's located somewhere in the Bucharest center area, so rent is going to be higher.
''CONGRATULATIONS''!!!!, on your NEW SPACE!!! its CUTE, and LOVELY, and its a" PLACE TO CALL HOME " ........As a ''CHRISTIAN'', I feel the ''NEED TO TELL YOU THOUGH'', Those wall decorations that you found look "REALLY CREEPY", they look like some kind of masks. I would ''REMOVE ''them ''IMMEDIATELY'' !!! They could be connected to some kind of ''CRAZY VOODOO'', or something ,......''NOT GOOD AT ALL" !!! Upon just moving in, I would also, get a ''PASTOR TO BLESS'' the apartment,.........Again ''CONGRATULATIONS,'' and ''GOD BLESS'' ''YOU!!!!
Cute! I subbed. I live in North Carolina, USA.
Thank you! 💞
come hai trovato questo posto? tipo da qualche sito?
Per trovarlo ho dovuto vendere l'anima 😂 ho un video apposta in cui spiego tutto quello che è successo nella ricerca dell'appuntamento! In ogni caso, come sito ho usato immobiliare.ro
I like this
Thanks!
LOL 😂 who in the F is this 😂😂😂. You have a Great apartment. An interesting wet bath closet. Your valted bedroom loft looks roomy.
Thanks for the comment! "Interesting wet bath closet" made me laugh so much😂😂 it's the perfect description
Cute little place
Thank you! ✨
Shower and toilet and sink in same area, very interesting
Really one of the worst things is needing to pee after having a shower cause everything - toilet comprised - is flooded ☠️
@@martinafacose You’ll need to keep an extra towel in the bathroom to wipe dry the toilet seat if you need to use it after you shower.
Yeah I do that! Mostly with paper though 😊
Great apartment😊😊😊😊
Thanks!! ✨
In New York this place would cost a huge amount.
Oh I'm aware... US prices in general are scary to think about 😭
Hey yo! I'm in love with the apartment you found. I also need a studio apartment around the central area in Bucharest. But I have no idea where to begin or how to find one cuz my budget is too low at around €250. Somebody help me please!!
Hey! It all depends if you're a student, if you're staying long term or short term. Most studios will not rent to students short term. I talk about it in my other video about apartment hunting in Bucharest. 😭 If you're moving to Bucharest long term, you have a couple more options.
I am not a student and I'll be staying in Bucharest for about an year. I'm actually a foreign worker.
And yes, i watched the previous video too.
If you're going to stay for one year then you have better hopes than me! Check out the website imobiliare.ro , that's where I found my apartment and many other offers 💖
