Hi Lois - Thanks for your excellent video on knife sheath maintenance. You explained the steps very, very clearly and in a pleasant way which held my interest. Well done!
Wow, who would have known it was this simple, thank you for this, now I know what to do in my weekend:) I allways enjoy your content, and are happy to see you are sharing new videos again, thank you...
A wonderful change to see Ben's better half! I wonder if you could give a pointer as to where you obtain your Camellia oil from, as it appears you have it in an applicator bottle or is that bottle a homemade item. I can only find the oil sold in standard bottles. Would love to see more video's featuring you and your various leather craft items.
I leave the wrapped knife in the lightly soaked sheath and then use a food saver to suck all the air out of it. It conforms tightly. I leave it for a day, then take it out for the drying process.
Just great I still dozens of channels and they all talk about the Temple of the metal quality of the steel shape of the knives but nobody until now I have seen that takes care of the covers.
Hi Lois, greetings from Aotearoa New Zealand, I make my own knives and wet mold the sheath too, An experienced hunter asked me if I was confidant that knife would not come out if he had a fall while hunting, it is a good question, what do you think?
Lois, could you explains how to stipple leather so that it looks like the chequering on a gun stock as shown on this knife handle : i.pinimg.com/originals/b0/b0/a1/b0b0a161db93c9b1bac7a95b14a343f8.jpg Also can wet forming be done to get the basic shape before glueing the sides of a sheath together. Im having issues getting the right width of sheath from the templates I create. Don't want to stitch the sheath only to find I cant get the knife into it. Any advice welcome.
If you don't wet mold from the very beginning a sheath shouldn't need to be wet molded in the future to retain the knife properly . Wet molding a sheath makes the leather loose it's natural spring.
Outstanding. Thanks from a fellow in the US who appreciates all who share such skill sets. Be well.
Great video!
Question: What if my sheath has been treated with Sno Seal water proofing wax?

I’ll tell you what. I bet she does many wonders for her husband outside of just this little bit. A lightly thick cutie.
