      hello my friend. Thank you for visiting my channel. Yeah.....MIDI can be a bit of a challenge. I'm certainly not an expert but I figured out how to control my amp with a simple MIDI controller. By the way, this amp is great. I like a lot of different amps and gear. There's so much stuff out there. The MIDI Mouse is affordable and reliable. Some people go for the full on big switching systems, like a Bradshaw etc. I'm pretty simple for now. In the meantime, I hope that 2023 has been a great musical year for you. Have a great holiday season and expand your music into 2024 and beyond! peace.

      @@jakesmith4506 Thank you. I appreciate the kind words I hope the best in the new year as well. I’ve been a fan of Midi since the 90’s. Yes it can get ridiculous with multiple units and controllers but can remain pure and simple as well. Your ingenuity and creativity can get into literal gear with midi. Alec Bourn has a killer channel on Midi related devices and setups. Cheers!!

    Hi, Jake! Glad to see you!:-)
    This is a really awesome stuff for MB. Looks great. Must be very helpful. The BIGGEST PROBLEM is my inability to get it. For 42 days I have no work. This way I see the future in very pessimistic view point. I can understand that this total pause will be long, but the money is not coming for nothing. So, all I can do is to live like an animal. To eat, to seat, to sleep.. All the music is out of my mind. I made a huge work for uploading all my 14 alboms to the internet, but to record the new one I have no motivation. Learning with Jennifer Batten through the internet. At least something to stay on and hold the line. The only thing I can say is good is my total anti-alcohol attitude. Nothing to do... Keep on moving! Missing you!
    Z.

      Привет Зигфрид. Да, в Детройте гадости. Большая проблема вируса короны. Здесь много смертей. Вся территория очень закрыта. Ни музыкальной сцены, ни ресторанов для ужина. Не так много происходит. Многие безработные. Мне очень повезло, я могу работать из дома. Очень большая роскошь для меня и моих приятелей Chrysler. Люди здесь до сих пор не разутягся по нять, насколько опасна эта болезнь. Многие из них хотят, чтобы перейти обратно в вещи, но это слишком рано, чтобы вернуться к тому, как это было. У нас слишком много людей, которые укладываются в офисы без места между рабочими станциями. это очень серьезный вопрос. Компания, скорее всего, работает вещи, так что мы можем быть в безопасности, когда мы вернемся в голову здания четверти. Это будет какое-то время, прежде чем мы знаем окончательный результат бизнес-плана для инженеров и дизайнеров. Сейчас некоторые механики собираются начать работать, потому что они находятся в районе, где есть много места между людьми. Будь в безопасности. Продолжайте делать музыку. Дженнифер Бэттон велика. Отличный учитель. рок устойчивый! ваш приятель в Детройте, Джейк.

    I had a question about the midi function of the TC50, I know that we can program and change the channels, reverb.. with a pedal or multi-effect, but can we memorize something else like the normal drive switches on the clean or tight norm on the channel 2 and 3?

    • @jakesmith4506
      @jakesmith4506  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kick. Yes, putting more options into the memory is available. You do have to set the switches where you want them when you save the selection to midi. it will come back exactly the way it was when you hit the 'save' switch. make sure that each choice has a different midi number. 1,2,3,4 etc for each different choice in settings. rock on!

      I play today on Marshall, but I'm looking for a new amp. The Tc50 has been eyeing me for a while! I have read a lot that in terms of sound it sounded more "Bristish" than American/Mesa. Is that the case?

  • @dwavehedvisuals
    @dwavehedvisuals 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Greetings! Quick question: does midi in this case require all 5 pins (point to point) or are 3 sufficient to transfer all information (midi to TRS)?

    • @jakesmith4506
      @jakesmith4506  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello dwave hed, I really do not know the answer to your question. Best bet is to have all 5 pins working. I am not a midi guy at all. I just needed to get a little familiar with it so that I can use a smaller device to switch channels. But, check around online. or call Mesa Boogie if you're looking to go with three pins on their stuff. rock on. BE SAFE !!!

    • @craigr777
      @craigr777 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a year late, but for anyone else wondering - the answer is NO. MIDI requires all 5-pins to be functioning. There are MIDI Adaptor cables that come with smaller devices (ie, PCI-MIDI cards, or Yamaha Tenori-ON) which fit onto a smaller footprint (MIDI to a smaller 5-pin port) but those are proprietary and device specific. TRS (or XLR or any 3-wire) can't be used as a MIDI interface whatsoever.

    Cool man. I was looking at that same midi controller. It has 3 buttons. Can I set it so the 3 buttons select each channel? Example: 1st button = ch 1 2nd button= ch 2. 3rd button = ch 3
    Thanks in advance

    • @jakesmith4506
      @jakesmith4506  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Dave, thanks for checking out my channel. The answer to your question is 'NO', the buttons are NOT assignable. left scrolls down, right scrolls up and the middle is the select after scrolling. It's a very useful, small pedal. Works great. It sounds like you might need a more elaborate pedal. Rocktron has one called 'MIDIMATE' . I had one years ago and it was super powerful. These days I want something much smaller. There are many different options out there. I am not a big midi type of guy. But, keep in mind that if you are using a Mesa Boogie TC-50/100 the midi setup is NOT straight forward. But watching my video will clear up any doubts about what it takes to set it up. Happy hunting. Be safe my friend. peace
