The late 80s transition into the early 90s was a special time to be a kid. It was unique. One movie that really captures that period is The Wizard with Fred Savage.

4:00 I totally remember the first ER bc I remember when the one in the 90s came out I was thinking how there already was a show called "ER" . I watched Supermarket Sweep and I LOVED LOVED LOVED watching Moonlighting with my mom . Moonlighting was the birth of the office ladies bringing their running shoes to work . Kicking off their Heels come 12pm lol . I wish that we could just request any show on DVD . That Kids Incorporated flashback made my day lol I think "You Can't Do This On Television" was my favorite though . It was on my Nickelodeon lineup after Double Dare . Great video as always 👍💯

Did they make a show out of that same book series? I read all the books! I didn't know there was a show! Like the bully was Bugs Meany, and he was always up to no good lying and scamming and you the reader would have to watch for the clues?

Great show and unlike a lot of the sitcoms from that time it actually holds up. It was probably too ahead of its time for network TV audiences. Clever satire wasn't what got eyeballs on screens in 1985.

In 1984 the one and only season of "it's your move" aired starring a very young Jason Bateman. They pulled it because parents were worried their kids would copy the shenanigans of Bateman's character. Basically it was about him battling with his mother's boyfriend who also is the apartment building that they live ins super. the boyfriend is the same actor that played Marcy's first husband on "married with children". I loved the show as a 10yr old and I recently watched it again and it still held up. I actually think I enjoyed it more now. Anyway, not sure if you've covered this show but if not, it's a great candidate for one of these videos. I love your content, appreciate your hard work and dedication. Thanks for keeping our childhoods alive! The 80s were awesome!

7:42: I wish I knew what a summertime Southern California vibe was like. I know what I imagine it would feel like from watching TV shows and movies, but I wish I knew what it was like IRL. It would be interesting if it was totally different (but still great), but it would be even more interesting if it was kind of like what I imagine it would be like (because that would mean that somehow the movies and TV shows were able to accurately convey that kind of very ephemeral thing).

I remember almost all these, I didn't know about the first E.R. And yup I had Cable TV in the 80's You can't do that on television was my fav. kids program in the early 80's. but by 82 on I was getting into the older gen programs, knight rider,A team. my fav. tv show of all time in 84 AIRWOLF. 1989 I was a teenager but still watched some of these shows. Now you answered a question I have been thinking about for years but never researched cause wasn't that important, I knew Fergie was on a tv show from my younger days but I couldn't for the life of me remember what show. you answered it. One of my favorite shows from the 80s is Werewolf, from 1987. Do you remember that one? So good. It only lasted a season. Has a great Halloween episode you can find on YT sometimes, too. The only show on this video I'd forgotten about was ER-but the moment I heard the theme song, I remembered. Moonlighting was super popular among the adults, and a favorite of my mom's. But while I loved You Can't Do That On Television, I couldn't stand Kids, Inc- that one was a favorite of my little sister, so it was on at every change. Might have had to do with my age, I was 14 when Kids, Inc., came out.

Amazon Prime had streamable seasons of "You Can't Do That on Television" for sale for about $8 each.
I remember a contest in 1986 to win an appearance on the show and get slimed.
I don't think I have ever seen an episode of "Moonlighting" but I bought a DVD set a few years ago and still haven't watched it.
Meanwhile, I watch episodes of "Remington Steele" all the time.
"KIDS Incorporated" episodes have been on TH-cam but I haven't watched in a while. I recall not really following it as it was the time when the cartoons would end on Saturday mornings.

We didn't have Disney channel so I have no recollection of those but the You Can't Do That on Television intro immediately brought flashbacks of things I hadn't thought about in well over 27 or so years. Loved that show.
One show I remember from the 80s that's kind of obscure involved a mannequin in a department store that came to life after the store closed for the night. Think it was called Today's Special or something like that. Watched that with my mom and little brother a lot

There was this 80s TV adventure series that is somewhat a knockoff of Indiana Jones. The series was called Tales of the Gold Monkey and it starred Stephen Collins, who was known for his role in 7th Heaven. It's about a former fighter pilot who now runs the air cargo delivery. He would get around in a broken-down plane called Cutter's Goose. He would also face danger with dangerous animals and fight off Nazi forces in the quest to find the fabled Gold Monkey statue somewhere in the South Pacific. The series lasted only season with 22 episodes. The series is worth checking out for anyone who is thirsty for a swashbuckling adventure in search of a legendary artifact.
