I think it's a rare example of simple-to-understand but more complicated-to-play! Keeping track of 11 apparitions could be a mess, I might just pick 2-3 favourites and rotate
Bonus Points, if your Medium uses medium armor, describing it as a ghostly translucent armor formed from a dead Knight enveloping them. Because then the Mediums medium armor is Medium armor! I'll see myself out.
Awesome explainer - thanks! I feel like these complex classes can be pretty easily covered by the more basic classes by just adding flavor, or maybe a subclass. One of my players basically has been playing an animist all along and we have just been using the witch class. Instead of having a patron she has a bunch of spirits that she attunes to and they are the ones casting her spells. Works great.
Oh, this is basicly the (Unsworn) Shaman from 1e, right? At least a lot sounds similar, including the prepared spellcasting plus the spontaneous casting depending on your attuned spirits for that day. It's fun to see how they reworked the concept.
You broke an incredibly complex class into an easy to understand and follow format, great work on this particular video.
That sounds extremely complicated and yet relatively simple at the same time. I love the potential flexibility in lores

@@KingOogaTonTon so each long rest you can switch out the apparition then and not only wich is the primary?
I probably would've never bothered to read what this class does but you made me want to play it now.
I felt the same way making this video. I went from "eh," to "hot damn!"
Medium uses Medium armor.... there's a joke there
Funfact
In 1e there was a similar class to this called the Medium, the difference was that it was a Martial Class

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who uses the bullet metaphor to describe prepared casters.
Wait a sec, this class is just Ben 10.
Oh my god...
Explain?
@@HappyGoldfisapparitions are like his aliens and they give cool abilities like how his aliens give cool abilities ig
so funny that this came out when dizzy is revealed in strive
The headstones are great
Love all the apparition illustrations!
Damn, mr cheese really found a way to let his loved ones down twice!
I love all King Oogatonton videos!
Does this mean an Exemplar video is around the corner 👀
Yes! Sort of. It will be a bit later than the others, which is why I've been doing weekly videos instead of biweekly like normal.
This is excellent. You covered this in 7 minutes!?! Incredible! The next video down is 40 minutes longer!
Love the art in this one a lot, perfect for October.
Good thing i had to leave in 7 min 20 sec so there was just enough time
I love your videos
Thanks for this video, it was really helpfull to understand the class!!

Amazing! Animist is a very complex class, and you hit it out of the graveyard!
The familiar in the end (spirit friend) was funny.
Love your videos, thank you
This Channel is super helpful, thanks! ^^
Happy to hear!
leaarned an incorrect path to immortality is what HAS to be on my gravestone now lmao
I don't care what people say. KingOogaTonTon's classes are the true iconics.
We've all made that wasp nest / pear mistake...
Animist & the power of anime

To be Shaman King!
Sha-man KIIIIING!!
I really want to play as an animist, hope it doesn't take too long to be added to Pathbuilder..
Is it possible we could get the cleric and champion covered in the future?
With animist if I read that right I can swap between any of the apiritons at a short rest
Or do I need to encounter them first
Mr Cheese took his Cheddar to the grave
Cool, I always wanted to play a Persona 5 Joker character. Just reskin the spirits into Personas and I'm in business! Thanks, your highness Ooga!
The only sad part about animist is it has rendered Battle Oracle actually useless.
Though to be fair, so did a level 1 General feat.
gobbless
So, a Persona character
There's circus lore and volcano lore? That sounds really stupid, lmao
