Absolute genius the way you handled that float issue! Never in a million years of eagerly delving into a carb to find a problem would you even think that was a thing that the previous guy would get wrong. ✊
Haha Cheers! This CB has been full of unexpected surprises like that, I can only assume some absolute wally threw it together in a hurry before me. It's as amusing as it is frustrating, at least it's well on its way to being a solid bike again. :)
Can I ask where you got the rubber hose? I’m gonna attempt to rebuilt my CB750 carbs soon (first time ever rebuilding a carb!) so will be using this vid! Thanks
How do those carbs compare to the stock bottle tops that should be on the bike? I think the bottle tops are easier to work on....and you can usually find a used set on line for 150 bucks or so. I bought an extra set on Facebook Marketplace for $120, just to take apart and clean for educational purposes. Now I know how to do it if I ever need to take my carbs completely apart.
I am considering going back to the original style carbs, as I expect they may be easier for me to get right for this bike. I have no idea which would work out best performance wise.
Yes the intake boots are different, but you can make the work if you have to! I think the carbs were changed to improve emissions, I'm not sure what the main differences are other than the accelerator pump.
@@SPANNERRASH I'm sure you could Tune them to Work. And in the Pumper Carb's you can Mechanically adjust the Needle Position with a Screw driver and Wrench. Kinda like you would adjust Valve Tapit Clearance. I don't believe the earlyer Carb's have that Feature.
Hi Cody, that sounds like an unusual issue. Is cyl 3 slider disconnected from the actuating arm? It should be connected to the arm via a pin, usual for them to be an issue. If it isn't a pin issue then it would be an issue with the carb itself. Hope that helps!
Hi Joshua, The manual says start with them 1 turn out from fully in. Adjust each no more than 1/4 of a turn to adjust to get an even pressure using carb balancer. Never more than 2 turns out. If you are having problems with your pilot air system check that all of the breathers are clear. A kinked pipe or a blockage of a breather can cause lots of slow running issues. Hope that helps!
I'm surprised the carbs fit on the head. I had a 1977 F2, wore out the engine and replaced it with a rebuilt 1974 engine, using the 1977 carbs. The carbs were bigger than the snorkels of the head, so I had to build up the diameter of the snorkels to get the rubber intakes to fit without leaking.
Hi Rick, I had the right rubber manifolds for the later carbs fitted to the engine when I bought the bike. When I changed to the earlier carbs I had to buy another set to fit them.
Hi, do you have an email address or contact? I’ve watched your videos and contacted you on here with questions before but would be good if I could message you as I have a couple of questions re k3 carbs and realise that this is possibly not the right channel? Many thanks
Hi Matt, feel free to send us a message, if you go to the About tab on the channel you can view the email. I won't write it in a comment or we'll get spammed to heck. 😆 To be honest, I'm not familiar with K3 carbs as I've never had one. But happy to part with any knowledge I do have.
If you watch the whole video, and read the description, you will see that I do discover that. I was surprised that they floats would even fit the wrong way around, but it just shows that when you take something apart, it might have been put together wrong last time. It was a good lesson to learn :)
What sort of idiot puts the floats upside down. That would be me, not once but several times. The more I try not to do it the more it happens. Think I must just like to see the petrol emptying out of the over flows.
I know what you mean. If you hit your thumb with a hammer when knocking in a nail you would think you would learn, but you never do. Carbs are far more complicated than that! :)

Nice job!! Patience is a virtue and pays off!! Plus some tea always helps!! 👍😎
Thanks, and it certainly does. All my projects are punctuated by cuppas, especially the fiddly ones. 😂

I picked up the hose from ebay, just like this stuff ebay.us/cciepS
Hope the vid helps you out with the carb rebuild! :)
Hi, nice material to help with the restoration of the bike I am currently doing the CB 750 K 2, K4 and K6 . Kris .
Cheers Kris! Good luck with your projects :)
Great videos! You help me tremendously and your presentation is therapeutic.
Cheers Brock, I'm glad the videos are helping you out :)

These came Factory on My 78 K which is the same Engine. Only difference would be the Intake Boot's I believe.

Hi I have a problem with my choke slide keeps dropping down on pot 3 . Any ideas Thanks

How many turn do you use for the Pilot/slow jet? I can’t seem to get mine right

@@SPANNERRASH thank you so much! We shall see if it works
