Howard Yang Inducted into the Engineering Hall of Fame at Oregon State

Howard Yang was inducted into the Engineering Hall of Fame at the 2024 Oregon Stater Awards.
Yang is a prominent figure in electrical engineering, currently serving as Chairman, CEO, and Chief Scientist of Montage Technology Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. After completing his undergraduate studies in China, he moved to the United States to pursue a graduate degree at Oregon State University. He shifted his focus from physics to electrical engineering, discovering the importance of adaptability when achieving one’s goals.
Under Yang’s leadership, Montage Technology has become a key player in the tech industry, providing chips for data centers that facilitate communication across the globe. Yang credits his success to the foundation he built at Oregon State and the impactful mentorship of his doctoral advisor, David Allstot, who provided guidance in both technical skills and industry insights.
