Thanks for reviewing our Militado ML05 , Jody . Sorry that the ML05 you got doesn't have a good crown , this is the first year 11.11 sale of our brand , the warehouse got a little bit mess, but we have add 3 workers now , so let's expect better quality control of our brand .
Not sure I like how much you're making me like these Ali Express watches. Someone with my level of lack of self control does not need to be interested in watches this affordable and attainable. If i start I'll be buying one every week!
I picked up the Miltado ML05 with the sterile dial for all of $33 US. Threw it on a brown suede strap and it's a stunner and so comfy. My crown fits just fine so perhaps you just got a buggered one.
I suppose that's the risk you take with Ali, same as time keeping is always a risk on an automatic, good to hear your feedback that your crown operates okay though 👍🏻
Hey Jody Great video as usual! The Addiesdivve has 19mm lug width if you’re up-strapping it… I’ve measured & remeasured and a 20mm strap won’t quite squeeze in! 👍
Picked up a Militado ML05 this go around as well. Absolutely thrilled with the purchase and have not taken it off since I received it last week. Threw it on a brown leather single pass and it's the bee's knees! Looking forward to your full review.
Scotch tape works great at removing those crown protector stickers. Just press the tape over the crown/pushers then pull it off, the sticker comes with it.
I bought the Cadisen after i saw your video about the 11/11 sale and i have to say I'm so happy with it. I got it for 77€ in Greece and it's a cracking watch, feels really sturdy and the dial is very pretty. Thank you Jody for the recommendation, I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for you
I bought all three after your video, along with a Boderry Voyager. Excellent watches for the price. That Miltado is an absolute strap monster. Looks and feels great!
I also got the Addiesdive during the 11/11 sale and I agree the bracelet does let it down along with the cross branded logos. but the watch its self is a beaut and mine has been a great time keeper too and as you said it would look great on a leather strap which I am considering.
Love your videos Jody, just purchased a Steeldive 1970 as you recommend them so highly! Absolutely banging price on Ali so why not! Keep up the good work and can't wait to hear the words ... Weellllcome to just one more watch again!
OK, you convinced me...after hemming and hawing for a couple weeks, I just bought the Militado! I guess you can't beat it when the price is under $35 USD today (Black Friday sale).
Thanks Jody, a nice review. I have the addiesdive i confirm the bracelet is rubbish except the clasp, but it's not a 20mm but a more rare 19mm. I ordered a mesh bracelet wish gives a Real nice look on this cheap but very nice little Time Keeper!
So far my Ali watches have been the Militado 3 dial VK67 chronograph and the Pagani NH35 Air King homage. Each was about £50 Uk and the specs of each are incredible. Very happy.
Hey keep up the good work I love your videos I recently lost my everyday watch seiko5. About around 1.5 and now price of increased. So I didn remember you making videos on these cheap watches that were bank for your buck. So thank you so much for helping me out
I took a chance on the Addiesdive, and, although I agree with your 'niggles', this watch is nothing short of amazing for the money. I love looking at the dial, it mimic's a $2,000 Longines Conquest. Having had many Chinese automatic watches movements fail on me (mainly PT5000's), I am now a huge fan of the VH31 mecha-quartz. Not only is it far less expensive, it's thinner, lighter, incredibly accurate as well as ultimately much more reliable. All good things. I hope more manufacturers would use this movement as an alternative to say, the NH35 across their line-ups. Build it and we will come... and buy!
I bought a Militado ML05 and the crown on mine screws down fine. Awesome pick, I bought mine with the black nylon strap with the khaki stripe going down the middle.
At first I thought the crown on mine had the same problem, but when I checked later I realized I could screw it down flush with the case with little effort. Great watch for the price, no complaints.
Nice review Jody! Love the mint green pie pan Addiesdive dial, and same as you I can live with the ugly logo as long as they keep it on the back and the crown. Like they did with the sand dune watch, I'm willing to bet that they soon release an NH35 upgrade with sapphire crystal and a better bracelet for ~$100, which is the version I'm holding out for.
I'm really impressed with Militado's military inspired watches and I absolutely love the vh31 movement. I know a date complication is a point of contention for some but I would love to see a similar mech-quartz movement with a date window. Addiesdive, in general, just seems to nail it every single time. They did a great job in my opinion changing the logo for this particular style of watch. Great selection and review of three watches that really punch way above their inexpensive price tags.
I bought the same Militado, but with the black strap with central gold stripe. My crown is fine and it came to the UK in ten days. Great value for money.
Militado watches are pretty awesome. They're almost identical to Baltany watches. So much so a few reviewers had complaints on there youtube videos from Baltany telling them not to review them 😮
I bought that Cadisen, had it for a week now. Its mostly a copy of the Islander Port Jefferson. With proper AR coating amd some better lume, it would be unbeatable. Good proportions, clean dial layout, and love the date at 6.
On a whim I picked up Miltado's 38mm Hamilton Murph homage this weekend. I'm actually thinking about picking up the Murph and I'm treating this as a trial run.
I'm glad you got round to the Militado ML05 Jody, I have owned one for ages and also have the Hamiliton it's based on, side by side it's pretty awesome to see what £35 quid gets you, shame your crown stem is a bit long, mine is fine.
I got that ML05 last week, without the arrow on the black/white Nato (binned it). Stuck it on a BOLYTE 2 piece green seatbelt nylon for £8 and it's a great beater. Super light and seems quite robust. Crown screws down tight to case, so you got a duff one there.
I received my Miltado a couple of days ago and have no problem with the crown so definitely looks yours has an issue. Great little watch I bought for wearing at work, paid £34!
Hello, On the Militado ML05 I had exactly the same problem with the crown. It is a quality control defect but fortunately it is easy to fix. In fact it is just the stem that is not screwed all the way onto the crown. You must therefore open the watch, remove the stem+crown group and reassemble them properly without forcing: about two turns. Don't forget to put a little grease on the gasket before closing the watch. Enjoy! PS : And for the Addiesdive 'Oyster' the lug width seems to be 19mm (not 20).
I’ve gotten t the dark grey dial Addie coming, and I just got the sister Addie to this one…the sand dune variety (white). New to the watch hobby, and as soon as I unboxed it, I thought I had made a big mistake with the 36mm size. Boy, was I wrong. As soon as I sized it and put it on, I was transported back in time. My grandfather wore a very similar size/case as a carpenter (it had to have been a Seiko). With this size, it really can be a GADA watch. Dainty? Not a G-Shock? Who cares! We know how much we paid for it, and Addie isn’t going to stop making them any time soon! Big fan of these; no apologies needed!!
I've got that Militado (non-logo), really pleased with it, although I've replaced the strap with a "Horween" one. The crown does sit down properly on the case when tightened.
Picked up the miltaldo two weeks ago. It’s a really lovely watch and for the specs one of the best value in the ali sale. Crown is fine on mine. It’s also One that I have liked more as I have worn it. Love the brush finish and how easy it is to read. It’s a fab little military style watch for a trek or bike ride.
I bought the militado a few months ago.noticed the crown was stiff out of box and thought the crown wouldn't push in but after a few hard turns it went in and haven't had a problem since.also after a couple of months it's within 5 seconds of my dab radio I set it to.
Yep I got myself one of these militado m105s during the sale too! And a nice new nato to go with it that I’ve been wearing on my San Martin 62 mas. I haven’t gotten my militado yet so I’m not sure how the crown stem sizing will be
I have the first Cadisen Aqua Diver and it is absolutely a beautiful watch. The bezel does rotate very easily, and I wish it was much more tighter. And yes the bezel does have sharp edges which is the only real issue I have.
Hey Jody Love an AliExpress unboxing!! I was very restrained this sale.... Just ordered the new V3 Watchdives Speedy homage... Would love to see what you think of it.... Ironically I also bought a Bulova Lunar Pilot locally in the Black Friday sale... Definitely a moon theme this month 😂 😂
I've got the Militado, great little watch, mine has a perfectly functioning crown. Might just be that their QC guy was visiting the crapper when your watch passed through his department lol.
I bought the Addiesdive alpinist lookalike thing, the bracelet is a bit crap, but the watch itself is great and probably my favourite Ali buy so far. It looks great with the green dial on a brown leather strap.
The silver Cadisen illustrates one of my pet peeves with watches. It is a pretty watch in daylight, the hands and indices show up as black even though they are polished silver. Now if it was a black dial the hands and indices would still show up as black and would kill the legibility. I like dark dials for my own use and I want the hands and indices to show up well so I want them to be white. I'm wearing a Citizen right now that has lots of white lume on the hands but the outlines of the hands are polished silver and they don't show up meaning the little stips of lume are what I see. I once owned a Hamilton chrono that was the same way- the hands were polished and hard to see against the black dial. I want the hands to be white so I can better see them, all white not polished silver. Now look at the Militado- it hs thin strips of white lume in the hands but the rest of the hands are painted white. Even though the hands are relatively thin they are still very visible against the black background. Overall that watch looks great but I would like to have one at 40mm or even 42mm. I have the almost identical AddiesDive in my collection.
I like those Cadisen watches, but I can't get one because their logo looks too much like local hardware store chain Canadian Tire, and I will never not see that when looking at the dial.
Agreed. AE shipping has really ramped up lately. I bought about 50 different mod parts from 50 different store and they all showed up in one package exactly 11 days later.
I picked up the Militado as well... my crown fits snug to the case. I picked up the black and gold nato band version, with the Broad Arrow on the dial, its a striking little watch! I picked it up to daily wear, rather than my vintage milspec hamilton from the 70's... I think its great value for money!
I got the Miltado ML05 at the sale as well. In checking the crown, there is a very thin gap to the case and it tightens down with one turn. Oh well, it's still a very attractive watch and I put a nice brown leather strap on it. For the price it is a bargain.
Bougth the Militado ML05 recently and really love it! My screw down crown does fit perfectly btw (just like in your first shot at around 9:39.. suddenly it is looser in your vid.. 🤔).
You got a rogue on the Miltado. I got one on the black & tan strap (with the arrow) and my crown screws in fine. Light, comfortable and good-looking for cheap!
I bought the Militado too, but I have a different problem with the crown. It screws down all the way, but the sand blasting on the crown lacks refinement. I assume the coating was not applied properly, so there are a few shiny patches on the crown.
I grabbed the Pagani Design PD1685 in the 11/11 sale. NH35 movement on a decent strap with the see-through case back. Delivered to the U.K. in 7 days for the bargain price of £42.30. 👍
Good video👍🏻 Simply use a piece of tape. Please a piece of tape over the blue crown protector coating. Firmly press the tape onto the crown surface. Then peel it off. This method works every time for me. Hope that helps 😊
I have the Militado ML05 with blue sterile dial. Have tried on the Hamilton Khaki mechanical also and having handled both, honestly the Militado is quite amazing value. Case is well finished, drilled lugs, crystal clear sapphire, screw down crown (Mine was perfect), better WR than the Hamilton and it feels every bit as good in hand. If you don't mind a quartz, a decent one at that, this is a great grab and go field watch. Just throw any half decent strap on it.
My Militados crown was functional and fit flush to the case when screwed in, I’m guessing you’re correct with the crown stem being too long or not seated properly!
I feel like if they made that cadisen bezel a little thinner and made it closer to 10-11mm thick it would have went viral. I ordered the addisdive it was pretty good. I loved that it felt like a Mechanical but I didn't have to set it!
I have the Addiesdive with the blue sand dial and god damn I wish it has the logo and indices of the one in the video. I honestly thought the bracelet is pretty decent, but then my only other watch is the Seiko SNKL41, and even with a cheap AliExpress jubilee, the AddiesDive bracelet is miles better. Definitely eying the Erebus Ascent as my next watch, can justify the price just yet.
ML05 CROWN FIX: 1. Hack the movement. 2. Pump the crown about 10x, like a piston 3. Take the crown the threads and give a few turns COUNTER CLOCKWISE Mine came the same way and I was pretty much devastated lol. But, eventually it caught and I've had no problems since. I absolutely love the watch. Good luck!
Your Militado is a bit of a dud, mine has a perfectly functioning screw down crown. It's a great watch and I find myself wearing it a lot as it's perfectly sized for my wrist and nice and light too. For the price, it's a perfect watch.
Thanks for reviewing our Militado ML05 , Jody . Sorry that the ML05 you got doesn't have a good crown , this is the first year 11.11 sale of our brand , the warehouse got a little bit mess, but we have add 3 workers now , so let's expect better quality control of our brand .
These VH31 powered Ali watches are an incredible bargain.
I would love for Seiko to use it as a base for a solar mecha...with a date complication.
A bit of sticky tape pulls the whole lot off the crown in one go. Bonus points if you manage to use the shipping bag's sticky strip.
Came here to say that... in the first instance I usually use one of the stickers that came with the watch itself to save the walk...
Yes, this. Bit of scotch tape.
Dude such a good idea. That little blue tape is frustrating to get off. I’m going to try this.
Absolutely
I've been writing this for years in the comments everytime Jody struggles with the blues sticker. Let's see if he gets it this time 😄
Not sure I like how much you're making me like these Ali Express watches. Someone with my level of lack of self control does not need to be interested in watches this affordable and attainable. If i start I'll be buying one every week!
Agree! I have had a week of three watches! Can't afford that kind of pace
Agreed. I only discovered AliExpress at the start of this year and went a bit mad at first 😂😂
ADHD like me? :D
@@Aleproc Yes actually. 🤣
@@ethanringe4213 Me too :D :D :D
I have that exact same Militado, I got it last week. The crown on mine works as it should. You are probably right about the stem length.
@@matthewjames1394 ML05 is quartz, so no risk in that regard
That’s good to hear. Because the Miltado is by far my favorite of the 3 here.
Hey Jody
Great video as usual! The Addiesdivve has 19mm lug width if you’re up-strapping it… I’ve measured & remeasured and a 20mm strap won’t quite squeeze in! 👍
The addiesdive is clearly inspired by the new longines conquest.
I have a longine hydro, and it's nothing like it
@ the new conquest, not the hydroconquest
I think this one looks better though. The deep dial of the Longines makes it look cheap.
Massive fan of addiesdive to be honest just wish the logo didn’t look as shit.
@@StuntpilootStefhahah laughable. Have fun with your addiesdive buddy. Hope no one sees you
I got a Militado ML08 Murph on 11.11 for about €50. I absolutely love it, fave watch of the year, fancy the ML05 too now
Got one few days back, it is soo good loking.
@Hikikomori34 ML05 or 08

For removing the crown protector I use a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Comes off in a jiffy with zero scratches 👍 Another great video 🔥
Why the hate of the flimsy bracelets? it's like a 60's Rolex bracelet... Love it!
Scotch tape works great at removing those crown protector stickers. Just press the tape over the crown/pushers then pull it off, the sticker comes with it.
Hello Jody, I have the mint green Addiesdive and I love it. I was hoping to see the strap that you would put this watch on.
I'm thinking a nice perlon would look great on it.
That Cadison was really sharp.

Absolutely banging price on Ali so why not!
Keep up the good work and can't wait to hear the words ...
Weellllcome to just one more watch again!
Lug width is 19mm I put a dark green FKM on only yesterday and it makes the watch face more stunning
Was going to mention this as well as it was one of the reasons I passed on the Addiesdives even though I love the dial colour.
OK, you convinced me...after hemming and hawing for a couple weeks, I just bought the Militado! I guess you can't beat it when the price is under $35 USD today (Black Friday sale).
Definitely a bit of Islander Port Jeff about that Cadisen, I guess Marc must feel honoured to have had a design clomaged!
Thanks Jody, a nice review. I have the addiesdive i confirm the bracelet is rubbish except the clasp, but it's not a 20mm but a more rare 19mm. I ordered a mesh bracelet wish gives a Real nice look on this cheap but very nice little Time Keeper!
Got a link for the mesh?
Oh, how I missed the pigeon jokes! That made my day.
So far my Ali watches have been the Militado 3 dial VK67 chronograph and the Pagani NH35 Air King homage. Each was about £50 Uk and the specs of each are incredible. Very happy.

Bought exactly the same one Jody, in the sale. And a Blue dial for my son. Been wearing it for a couple of weeks now. Great value.
It's your fault I've brought 10 pagani watches and still want more, absolutely love them. If you've got any you don't want, I know a good home 😉😂
Nice review Jody! Love the mint green pie pan Addiesdive dial, and same as you I can live with the ugly logo as long as they keep it on the back and the crown. Take the sticker protecting the crystal and press it on the blue sticker. It should peel off super easy that way.

I bought the miltado during the 11/11 sale. Mine has no problems with the crown. This is my first watch with the seiko vh31 movement and I love it!
3 awesome watches. I do wish Cadisen offered no logo options. I'm a fan of their designs and the build quality looks great.
I bought the same Militado, but with the black strap with central gold stripe. My crown is fine and it came to the UK in ten days. Great value for money.

A terrific haul Sir. The amount of watch you can get for under $100 from AliExpress is ridiculous. 👍🏼
Cadisen deserve a "most improved logo" award!
For the blue crown sticker, use making tape. Tack it on, pull off, repeat until clean.
Love the VH31 movement and the size of those watches. Would fit my puny 6in wrist well I think.

Cadisen diver with unlumed indices? 🤔
What a pleasure to receive the notification of a new video!
I was on an orange dial binge for a while. Now it’s kind of migrated into white dials so that one definitely tickles my fancy.

My black&tan one without the arrow will probably arrive in a few days, fingers crossed.
Very accurate as well. About 1.5 seconds fast a month. Vh31 for the win.
Just bought the Miltado straight from this review!
For the blue crown sticker: dab a cotton ball on rubbing alcohol and rub the cotton against the sticker, it will make it go away quickly.
Rodico is great at removing excess bits of wrap.
My Militados crown was functional and fit flush to the case when screwed in, I’m guessing you’re correct with the crown stem being too long or not seated properly!
I bought the Miltado and the crown is OK. Actually quite impressed with the watch in general.
I feel like if they made that cadisen bezel a little thinner and made it closer to 10-11mm thick it would have went viral. I ordered the addisdive it was pretty good. I loved that it felt like a Mechanical but I didn't have to set it!
by the way, use that adhesive tape your wrap your parcels to stick up the blue sticker on crown - it’s effortless 😅
I’ve just got the ML05 and the crown is absolutely snug and tight against the case. It’s great for the money!
I bought a militat with the green strap just like yours on my AliExpress haul, except I didn't get the arrow on mine. That was $5 more.
I bought the militado and the addiesdive mint green. Waiting on them both here in Pakistan to deliver.
Take the crown the threads and give a few turns COUNTER CLOCKWISE
Mine came the same way and I was pretty much devastated lol. But, eventually it caught and I've had no problems since. I absolutely love the watch. Good luck!
That Militado is a sweet deal!
I am just waiting for Jody's next Erebus model announcement.
Your Militado is a bit of a dud, mine has a perfectly functioning screw down crown. It's a great watch and I find myself wearing it a lot as it's perfectly sized for my wrist and nice and light too. For the price, it's a perfect watch.
That Mili ML-05 is one of the watches of the year. Thats why a Hammy isnt the be all end all in fields.
