    Twinkling of Stars: Stars appear to twinkle due to atmospheric refraction. As starlight passes through different layers of the atmosphere with varying densities, its path bends slightly, causing the apparent brightness to fluctuate.
    Applications: Atmospheric refraction has practical applications in fields such as astronomy, where accurate calculations of celestial positions require accounting for the bending of light by the atmosphere.
