Summer Walleye Slip Bobber Fishing in Southern Wisconsin!!!

On today’s episode, we went to a lake local to us to try our hand in targeting walleye with livescope and pitching leeches on slip bobbers right at them. After a slow start the bite turned on and we ended with 7 walleye but sadly the GoPro missed two of them 🙃 Enjoy!

What happened? I thought Wisconsin was going to outlaw forward facing sonar like livescope. Livescope will lead to fewer and smaller fish in our lakes and that will result in more slot limits and reduced bag limits. Fishing and the knowledge and skill that go with it are a thing of the past. It’s now high tech ‘catching’.

It’s in the talks but in my opinion livescope in itself is fine. Out of the 100s of fish we tried to target a whopping 7 fish decided to bite. I don’t think it’s nearly as overpowered as people think and it’s going to come down to good conservation practices. There’s definitely pluses and minuses

Who cares if live imaging helps you catch more fish. You are only taking home the posted bag limit and many anglers, especially walleye, are in it for catch and release. If wisco decides they need to change the bag limits then so be it but live imaging doesn’t change the amount of fish you get to bring home
