There is a scam in Rome where men dress up like “gladiators” and they stand in front of the Colosseum on the outside. If a tourist takes a picture of the Colosseum & those men, they try to ask for money as a “modeling” fee. Those men even try to jump into other photos to make money. The bracelet scam, they put the bracelet on a tourist’s arm and then ask for money. Or throw it to the tourists. And when the tourist catches the bracelets they ask for money. I’ve seen a couple of TH-cam videos about this. The thing is, once the bracelet gets on your arm it’s very hard to take off for some reason. And that is the point: the scammers have made the bracelet very small and tight and difficult to get off and so the tourist feels obligated to pay.
