I use the mixel joints and litter to make action figures, and I always buy dark grey. Only sometimes do I paint over them. Brown would be appreciated, as would any new color that passes qc.
I can't help but feel a tad let down by the specific part you were building up for like, the entire video. A brown mixel joint is just so.. _eh_ to me.

I’m not a fan of Star Wars or Chewbacca, so I won’t be getting this set (not that I would likely get it anyways because it’s a large Lego set, so it’s expensive). That being said, I don’t think it looks bad, I think it looks pretty good all things considered and does well to represent the source material as a Lego display statue. The legs look a bit weird to me tho
Nah man, you're not getting recolored mixel joints. Look at the reflection on the one image with the brown joint, it shows that it's going to be gray. Somehow the render got messed up but it didn't change the reflection. It has to do with the strength of parts when the pigmentations are added to the plastic, that's why they're only in the grays, although it certainly seems like at least black and white should be possible if you ask me, but then that's just asking for more colors and it's a whole thing. And as for the design of the set, it's not appealing to me, but I like that Chewbacca has the correct colors... except for the minifigure version! Ever since 2013 when Chewbacca's minifig got redesigned, I've hated it because they've printed Dark Tan on Dark Brown, and not only does it look wrong, it makes Chewbacca look scary, and he's not supposed to be scary. How they could make this set Dark Brown and Reddish Brown and not color the minifig the same way astounds me because it's an issue that has plagued Chewbacca for 10 years now, and it needs to be rectified!
I love it and I dont like star wars .But this is a great looking set .Seems like this year lego has really stepped up their game .I think DREAMZzz is something with a lot of great parts also .
I will say from my own experience i have a TERRIBLE track record of light gray mixel sockets breaking on me. I'd estimate that about 40% of my light gray mixel joints are cracked, which sucks because i use them all the time
Honestly I don't understand who this set appeals to. Lego star wars fans seems to be dead set on minifigures, I don't think constracion fans seem too interested in this because its basically a glorified statue, and that price is definitely gonna ward off a lot of people. Me personally, for that price I could get at least 2 giant ninjago Mechs, Some rarer bionicle sets off of bricklink, the Lego Optimus Prime, Some of the new Lego Dreamzzz sets, or for just 100AUD more I could get that giant bowser set. And those sets are a lot more appealing to me than this 300AUD chewbacca statue. The new pieces are nice but I don't think a 300$ parts pack is worth it.
I don't think it's fair to compare this set to the marvel figures given that this is a _$200_ display model. I also don't trust at all that the brown mixel joints will make it into the final released product given that they've only appeared in one image. I hesitate to even do anything to bring attention to it as I don't want to get people's hopes up.
the thumbnail is little clickbaity. And the whole discussion is uninspirational, sounds more like a task then like an AFOL talking about the set he likes. The whole video is like you had to come to the job and do this, because this is your main source of income, and not a hobby you do when you like. With less then 25k subs, I can't see this happening, especially if you are from the west. Advice? Stop doing thigns you think you must, to grow your channel, and start doing thigns tha give you pleasure, when videos are in question, and all regarding with LEGO. This is the only way to earn enough money from this so you don;t have to think about money, and also to enjoy what you do - every single second. I work (offline) with LEGO bricks for a decade now, and I ewarn one new apartment every two years - and EVERY time I hit financiall issues is when I allow clients to push me to build something I don;t like or desire to build. Same logic goes for sucesful TH-camrs (I;ve been on LAN for almost a decade, I know most of them). So, stop doing what is needed and stard doing something that stirs your passion, when LEGO is in question.
Thanks for saying this, but in all honestly this had nothing to do with money or feeling like I had to do this, I genuinely feel excited by the set and wanted to talk about this because it gave me pleasure. I'm surprised to hear that this came across in that manner. Still, I'll take what you said into consideration and ensure that future videos remain passion filled, but I always make sure that the joy of making videos comes first, that's always been apart of the video making process for me :) Still I'll do my best to make sure videos don't feel clickbaity or anything like that in future :)
Imagine "brittle brown" being used for a ball and socket joint. Even the current small socket pieces are known to crack.
I thought Lego changed they’re brown color so it wasn’t brittle anymore

The socket piece will be the regular colour. Someone from Lego confirmed it on Twitter; that it was a render mistake...
Oh did they? Shame... Oh well, hopefully some day we'll get other coloured joints :)

So LEGO is finally done lying about the reason they color locked mixel joints. Ironic that they break the trend with brittle brown of all colors.

The pose is very bland. Posable or not, it could be built into a way more dynamic pose. This is just not it.
