Yeah, got a bunch of logs out. Got 7 - deliveries this weekend each 1/3 of a cord. That was all oak on the trailers. Found a tree company i can drop a trailer off and they will load it for me. Now, just got to get splitting. Hard to do when i can only split on the weekend because it is too dark tonwork when i get home and now lights outside.
How long was wait once you got the machine was nearing production email? thanks .keep up the splitting I wish I had that much wood I collect all mine by. Finding it off criags list and stop and knocks lol
Getting the box wedge dialed in to reduce waste seems a challenge. If you lowered it in the middle to eliminate re-splits, it would become a kindling maker on the sides. Wish you the best with figuring it out.
It does have its place, but I did order another wedge last night, so that should make everything so much quicker with less debris. The more I learn, Andrew Easton is right that box wedge is definitely a boiler splitter or heating wedge so hopefully the new one will help with that.
I feel ya! I had all intentions of getting 4-5 loads of tree service wood (about 3-5 cords worth so I have something to do in the winter when we're not plowing but Mother Nature is a real Mother F***er! not even 3 days ago this week was supposed to be in the 40's and no snow, today's forecast is 8-12" by Saturday so it was a mad rush to get a backhoe ready, put 2 salt spreaders in trucks, third truck caught on fire thanks to a bad starter (got that fixed), try to make room and some sense of my shop which is still a disaster, take a backhoe and skid steer to a large property we do, load our first load of salt into our salt bin, train a new guy on the backhoe, tomorrow train a new guy to plowing and still trying to do normal day to day business. Thankfully I have help...Me, Myself and I doing everything so my wood splitting has taken a back burner for now, need to make sure Im ready to make money to pay Andrew for my 12-22 lol I want a simpler life!!!!!!! Take it for what its worth but my shop is very limited on space so Im also looking at a conveyer. I have enough room for 3-5 loads of wood and going to cut and split into my dump trailer then going to have to truck it out to another property to stack and going to stack in rows of 1/3 of a cord and 3 rows per pallet set up and divided with more pallets, kind of like Chris does. This is the best way Ive seen thats quick and organized and looks good.
It appears you're handling that wood over and over again. Other wood yard owners say splits with fewer blades make for better pieces with less debris. You may still have to run larger split sections again, but at least you avoid all the mess that occurs when the wood goes through smaller divisions and becomes better for kindling. Just sayin'.
Good splitting action with the 9-16!
Thank you. Looks like you've been on a winning streak yourself.

That's super awesome of the tree service. I got my butt handed to me a couple of weeks ago. Got 2 this sat. Running out of wood quick.

Where you located that's an insane amount of snow. But I got out of lawncare just for that reason. I got bigger than I could handle.
I like your style of video. Little bit of talking, go to work
Thank you,

Nope I fully agree with you, still trying to figure everything out. Once I think I have it something else changes.
