I like how it starts as a train and literally goes off the rails. They're really taking projection mapping to a whole new level here as well.
The marketing made it seem like it was goofy’s fault that everything happens when it’s actually caused by Mickey’s terrible driving

@@GothicKittyMadness Look into how trackless rides work as that is false. They use sensors under the floor to guide the ride vehicles, no magnets or track used what so ever. It's a really cool and impressive system.
Keep in mind- in the almost 60 years of the Disney theme parks, Disney’s prime mouse has never had a dedicated ride. While I am sad the Great Movie Ride is gone, this looks cool and I’m looking forward to someday experiencing it in person!

There's one that has the room split when you enter and you see the squid. It happens a lot on the Shanghai Pirates ride too.
@@Kunx990 the one at Shanghai only happens because that stupid door stays open! It's supposed to stay closed until the film resets and then open on cue in a really cool effect.

No they still turn to the back cars the cars which places durning the ride but they will go back in order when the ride ends ☺️☺️
what makes it even more impressive is that each car follows its own path and switch places at the end, making their paths be different for the next riders
The technology is undeniably incredible but my biggest issue with trackless rides is how empty they look. Because of the large amount of space needed, you feel like you're in a big show building and not immersed in the ride. It works for Rise of the Resistance because a Star Destroyer is big and open, but most other rides it really takes away the experience for me

Although the tech is amazing, there's not much craftsmanship involved in making the ride. I was on the Harry Potter trackless ride when it glitched, when the system shuts down you realize there's nothing there. The traditional rides look good all the time.
Look at symbolica Efteling. Not that empty
Rise of the Resistance, imo one of the best trackless rides on the world. Winnie’s Hunny Hunt and Mystic Manor were alright but they’re a little outdated.
Qlimaxxx08 Qlimaxxx08 you are so right. It’s because Symbolica uses alot of set pieces and animatronics instead of screen projection. It’s the screen projection systems that make these kind of rides feel empty, not the trackless system.
Back to the way Disney rides use to be colorful, and fun for the entire family. I would love to see a Roger Rabbit ride in this style. Yea for Disney.

@@jonathanwallis3300 GMR had a plot. A far less chaotic plot to boot. MMRR suffers from several issues and it's just not on the level of GMR IMHO. It's not a bad ride, but the poor plot, nightmarish AAs, short ride time, and overabundance of screens and bare concrete are just meh.

Ehhh. Don’t think so. Movie ride was a slow reminiscent journey that was fine for the time, but became totally outdated. These motion vehicles and animation add a quality of whimsical effects fun and excitement to the Disney Movie Studio Park
The factory transformation is incredible. I thought that the room was just a screen surrounding it. It was practical stuff and projections.
This is most likely the last performance of Minnie Mouse that Russi Taylor did before her death if not one of the last.
It’s nice that we get to hear the late Russi Taylor’s Minnie Mouse voice one last time. 😌
I didn’t really notice or appreciate how this was all trackless until everyone started waltzing.

It's not Bret Iwan voicing Mickey here. It's Chris Diamantopoulos, who voices Mickey in the new Mickey Mouse shorts.
It's hilarious that the sound guy from the end of The Office is Mickey Mouse.
The old voice died, (as well as Minnie mouse’s old voice)
@@KingDice Bret Iwan is very much still alive and still voicing Mickey, just not in the new shorts and this ride. Russi Taylor (who voiced Minnie in the shorts and this ride), passed away last year. Her successor has yet to be formally announced.

It looks great. It also looks like an experience that can’t be well captured by a video camera. Interesting use of projection mapping. As shown through the lens of a camera it looks like it might suffer slightly from being shoehorned into the Great Movie Rides space and footprint. A few spots seem to feel too much like rooms. But that may just be the third party camera. It may be a more immersive experience in person.
I've never gotten to ride a modern trackless, but watching the ride through of this, Rise of the Resistance, and Mystic Manor all give me the impression that the room feeling is more a side-effect of the trackless technology than an issue of using GMR's show building.
I think the camera does fine in capturing the images. I think it does an injustice in capturing the experience. This is an immersive experience, made of of extensive sound architecture, programmed motion platforms, and of course set design and wonderful use of animation through projection systems. A persons experience is 3 dimensional on many levels, these videos cannot replicate that feeling of immersion.
I wish these full POV videos didn’t exist, because they fail to do the ride justice. On the other hand, these videos may be the only opportunity some people have to experience the ride, and for that I appreciate the availability.

thats what I said, these videos provide an opportunity for many to see the ride who can’t afford to go. Although, My main point is that these videos fail to capture the emotional and physical essence experienced while riding the ride. They also ruin the carefully designed surprises built into the ride’s storyline. POV videos give away the plot and element of surprise. I really really wish I had not viewed “The Rise of the Resistance” pov video. The ride was amazing, but there was a loss of surprise and experience that tarnished my experience.
@@clurkroberts2650 have to agree with you. I wasn't interested in Rotr until I saw it and realized I spoiled myself on it- it is best experienced in person for sure. I didn't spoil myself on railway and it was an absolute blast

Just had the opportunity to go on this ride the other day and it was well worth the 75 minute wait in line with my 6 and 3 year old. It was seriously amazing to see in person. The seat your sitting in too has vibrations to go along with the ride, the twister there’s wind whipping around you, the graphics are incredible in person, the technology is amazing they really make you feel like your falling off a cliff into water. My kids and husband loved it just as much as I did. It was really awesome and I highly recommend you ride it when you get the chance!

Woah that's some amazing work! Mind was blown seeing such clear 2D animation moving around a 3D environment. Just.. amazing. Wish life was 2D. This is the closest there is.
These animatronics are amazing! They way they were able to translate the 2d models into 3d and keeping the classic mouse silhouette is incredible! Disney rides are always great quality!

I like how the track layout is still pretty close to the Great Movie Ride. Part of the past is still there.
I am curious which room on the ride is tied to the same room where you see the xenomorph, on the predesseccor.
As a fan of the the new Animation Style of the cartoons, this ride is all eye candy. It’s amazing that this new tech Disney created is such a mindblowing experience and maybe even a new thing for Trackless Rides.
The Great Movie Ride was a hard act to follow,but they pulled it off beautifully.
I love how it's sometimes hard to tell what's a flat image (either painted or projected) and what's 3-dimensional.
So bittersweet not seeing The Great Movie Ride anymore here, but this looks fun.

I know I’m going to receive hate for this, but I actually think this looks better than The Great Movie Ride. I think that ride was getting a bit outdated and while I am the first to say that I don’t want all future Disney rides to be screen based, I do think this use of them, in partnership with the trackless technology and the projection mapping, is actually very impressive! It looks to be immersive and cartoonish, everything they promised it would be. I look forward to the day when I get to experience this myself.

Went on this ride today and waited only 40-45 minutes for it, sat in the back and it really was fun! I was surprised by the amount of wind there was during the tornado scene hah

This attraction is basically homage to other lands or rides Disney has done. The carnival resembles Paradise Pier/Pixar Pier with the long rollercoaster, towering swings, and Ferris wheel. The Twister is an unused event from The Great Movie Ride. And the underwater section may have been inspired by the original Submarine Voyage.
When this quarantine is over, this ride is the first thing on my mind when I go to Disney World.
This has to be by far the most funnest Mikey rides ever

I feel like this ride should be in the Magic Kingdom.
Hollywood studios is such a joke compared to its original concept. Rides like this don't belong there, and it's completely insulting that they replaced the great movie ride with this!!!!

@@Gangularis except a) disney MGM has always been rather eclectic in terms of area theming and rides, because disney never really knew what to do with it, and b) was a byproduct of a time when disney had no hit movies and wanted to undercut Universal's Orlando park. As much as I liked TGMR, acting like replacing it runs the theming integrity is complaining about something that wasn't really there in the first place
It fits in either park, but it is more suited for Magic Kingdom and might have received a more welcome reception by folks emotionally tied to the GMR nostalgia. But more importantly, I think it’s a ride that energizes the Disney Studios Park.
They really needed stuff in Hollywood studios.
I rode on 3/5, it is such a fun and cute ride! So much to see! It was paced well and didnt feel too long or too short. Great time!
The floor i can forget but not theming the ceiling is a major immersion breaker.

I love the sound, view, and everything about the video close my eyes and just the way it’s set up, you feel like your there listening to it. And right now, with the entire world shut down and scary, it’s nice to feel like your at Disney. Even if it’s just for a few minutes. It takes all the scariness away ❤️❤️
