really takes me out of it that you can see all the stuff on the ceiling so clearly, everything is so bright and nothing was done to try and hide it at all
usually I'm not one for digital effects but I think they're actually used pretty well in this ride. they do a really good job of creating illusions
This is one of my favorite dark rides in the entirety of Disney world they really outdid their selves
It looks so cute, I would to go on this ride even as an adult
Holy crap the effects on this ride are amazing. Everything about it is insane
I rode this multiple times when I visited the park back in September during the Pandemic. if your unable to ride Rise of the Resistance it is a great replacement for the ride. I LOVE this ride

Ngl, every bright and slow ride I come across somehow reminds me of It's A Small World (minus the dolls and singing a song on loop), and since that's my favorite ride and the first one I went on I feel like going on every slow and bright ride like it.
I love this ride as I have been on this 4 times even rode the Rise Of Resistance ride 4 times and loved it

So i guess depending on the balloon is how the ride will play out. This scene has 2 variations, Animatronics and Cartoon. The one Animatronic is plan A if the Animatronic one is malfuctioning Plan B (Cartoon) will play

Disney Parks are going through what Hollywood went through: "Oh, look, digital effects! Let's use them for EVERYthing!" I miss the tangible, physical animatronics.
Rise of the Resistance has a number of animatronics and physical effects.

I so agree. If I wanted to look at a TV screen, I'd stay at home and watch TV. New Disney rides are essentially IMAX movies with a couple of random props. They're not immersive or enchanting like the older rides.

This is a better executed trackless dark ride than Beauty and the Beast one at Tokyo Disneyland despite the latter having audio animatronics because at the end of the day it's about execution not about screens vs animatronics.
Ratatouille is screen heavy yet still better executed than Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast had the potential to be one of the best Disney rides ever made but I feel like they dropped the ball because not much really happens during the ride.
@@NocturneFexy IMHO, Disney's desire to make it a high capacity trackless dark ride by dispatching 6 ride vehicles each carrying 10 people every time affected the ride experience. Most other trackless dark rides dispatch 3 vehicles at a time carrying 6-8 people each
I had to cancel my annual passes to both Disney and Universal here in Orlando after the pandemic hit. After I was laid off from my job, I just couldn't afford to keep them even with the monthly payment plans. :( I hope I can go back sometime next year!

Well get this. The person who was in charge of this ride is also working on the Splash Mountain re-theme. So for all those people nervous or upset, calm down. With how good this ride is I'm sure it will be alright.
I went to Disneyland today looking for This ride, wow I didn’t realize it’s not open in California until next year
Unfortunately I think they delayed the opening until 2023 at the earliest, which is a huge bummer :(

The intro is cool. Some of the ride effects are great. Personally I just wish they'd used a more standardized design for the characters tho.

2週間前に乗ってきた！30分待ちで乗れたよ。動画で見るよりも、もっと実際は映像綺麗。ジェットコースター乗りたいタイプけどこれは凄かったよ。最新技術すごかった！

Yeah.. its sad that the Great Movie ride is gone but this ride is the first ever ride based on Mickey and Minnie mouse.. although the Great Movie ride is gone its spirit still lives on.. you can also spot some hidden details on the ride for us to remember the beloved attraction.
@@jjbalingsat9945 I thought the Great Movie ride was in the same category with It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight the Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain. Those are rides you know will never be gone. They are the classic ones. The Great Movie Ride was part of that tier or so we thought.
@@dvferyance there replacing splash mountain with a princess and the frog log flume. So that’s apparently not on the rides in the category of classic priceless rides
@@Jason-Clark235 They aren't technically replacing it they are just changing it up a bit but the rid itself isn't going anywhere. A refurbishment is not the same as replacing.

It was filmed back in August. When we went this month there's indeed a plexiglass dividers now.

How do they get the animated effects on the wall
Large projector screens for 2D wall sets and projection mapping on 3D set pieces for transitions like 2:27 into 2:48, for instance.

What happens in the room with the waterfall "drop"? You see a bush move but I saw or heard nothing else. What happens to the story in this room?? It's confusing
The first three cars enter the room a bit earlier, where we see Mickey and Minnie crash land in the bush from the tornado, Mickey then says “nothing can stop us now” ironically right before the volcano erupts. This is really the only room where the back car gets left out, but otherwise it may be the best out of the four cars overall IMO
There is thousands of videos of this ride already posted since the ride opened that would show you your answer.
How could they replace the Great Movie ride with this?

What a lazy, earsplitting ride. Hey, screens and more screens! And so manic that even the video is head splitting. Can't imagine how annoying it would be in real life.

Honestly makes me sick that Disney destroyed the Great Movie Ride for this ... The Disney "MGM" Studio Park is a joke now. The entire Theme is gone.. This mostly cheap CGI "Dark Ride" belongs in the Magic Kingdom if anywhere. So sad to see the Demise of Disney from Commercialism and corporate greed to Political Correctness ruin the "Magic" that once was. Just like EPCOT same thing ... no longer a theme park ... just an amusement park. Universe of Energy = Roller Coaster ,Horizons = Spinning Space vomit inducing thrill ride. World of Motion = TEST Track "Thrill Ride" with three makeovers now. Wonders of Life ... Closed. Living Seas... Commercial for Nemo. The land ... half of what it used to be. It's so sad ... Oh and Norway.. Commercial for Frozen. Disney has sold out long ago and continues on this path.

This ride is based on Mickey and Minnie mouse and this is the first time that they got an attraction
for over a year now.. the spirit of the Great Movie ride still lives on because there hidden details on the new ride for it to be remembered.. and EPCOT is not dying anymore, it recently started working its big Transformation
Because MGM studios doesn’t exists anymore. It’s Disney’s Hollywood Studio, LMAO. Disney does this because they want to be ahead with the times. The Great Movie ride was arguably outdated. Most kids today wouldn’t have an idea about what those movies they were talking about are. Unfortunate reality, but it’s the truth. Kids are more acquaintaced to the modern Mickey Mouse shorts than Wizard of Oz. That goes for all other replaced rides.
Disney was literately MADE to not only server as an escape from the real world but to advertise their movies and products, what?
@@themeparkcheetah Splash Mountain isn’t going to close, it’s literally just gonna go through a theme change. It’s going to be the same exact ride but with Princess and the Frog characters. Why? Because it’s a modern movie most young American people probably know more and you can actually buy and watch legally than say, the elusive Song of the South, which has never been released outside of cinemas in America because of it’s racial motivated overtone.
Honestly, this is a great ride technically , but I think it is a failure thematically. Seriously, how many people are really that interested in the early cartoon era of Mickey Mouse and Goofy? Certainly not enough to pack the cars and make people want to ride it again and again. Disney would have been better off coming up with some entirely new content, a new story, or a new idea, to be featured in the ride. Disney has wasted a lot of money on what comes out feeling like a pretty basic, tame, kiddy ride, which is a shame considering the great technical aspects of the ride itself.
This ride gets great reviews from people who have actually ridden on it, and it is themed to the latest Mickey Mouse cartoons, not the early ones.
