I’m so happy blood artist got a reprint! Not because I need one for a deck but because I would see it as a flavor fail if the whole commander deck is about blood and it not including it.
I want a card where a family member of his victom becomes a hunter, and is using his ashes to mold with clay the artist's face in his dying moment. It would be a great revenge card. Maybe an instant that destroys target creature that has dealt damage to another target this turn?something that would allow you to kill blood artist. Flavor win!

My first commander deck was a very poorly built Lord of riots deck. And while I feel like lord of riots is a better commander/deck overall it's not much fun, this would have eatten my money so fast as a new player
honestly there are a lot of good cards from this deck that just fit in other decks, AND the big vampires are so good in both strefan AND olivia. super hyped for the vampires and the direction in this set!
With the way I built Edgar, i can see myself adding 6 cards from the precon. 3 of the high price vampire reprints and 3 new spells. It will be nice to add creatures that are not 1-2 cmc changeling/shapeshifter to the deck.
I just wish we had another Mardu Vampire commander that didn't suck. The two others from the Edgar deck are garbage. I love my Edgar deck for swarm tactics, and would love to build a separate value vampires deck.
Rules Question: Captivating Vampire takes things and makes them Vampires. You still control a stolen creature when the death trigger hits, so with Timothar, you can exile and bat them, and then bring them back as yours and not give them back - right?

Hmm. it is when a Vampire you control dies, so the exile and bat are not a real issue. I think where its murky is that it only says return the exiled card to the battlefield tapped but doesn't specify under whos control. You are not the owner of the stolen card. Wonder if its just implied that its under your control

33:17 Although Murph is correct, you need 3 valid targets in your graveyard to be able to cast this spell, the trick is: you DON"T NEED 3 valid targets when this spell resolve. So, if you happen to have a way to remove one of the targets at instant speed (Relic of Progenitus, Cemetery Reaper, Tymaret, Chosen of Death, Scavenging Ooze, Deathrite Shaman....), you can get the exact two creatures you need from your graveyard back onto the battlefield.
Went off on a probability tangent with Sinister Waltz; just to confirm, "Choose 2 to keep" does have exactly the same probability of keeping your best card as "choose 1 to put to the bottom". The fact that it's conditional still plays out to 2/3 chance you keep your best card, and 1/3 chance you get to keep both of your best cards.
This deck really brings me back to my roots with my first real deck back from og innistrad, rakdos vampire tribal built around vampire nighthawk and stromkirk captain
I love the story that the partners make. It’s an unlikely alliance if a vampire and a human to rob everyone of their stuff with the vampire being the thief and the human being the distraction to buy time. I love it.
Its cool kinda story of them but both sets of partner with in both decks are pretty terrible, especially if you look at them compared to then partner with cards from Ikoria commander decks.
I’m playing this precon out of the box next Wednesday (my lgs is doing a tournament for unmodified precons only) and based on how you described the cards imo I’ve made a really good choice of what I’m playing My upgrades for this deck itself would be Olivia (the newer one within the set) and definitely reveal/riches with all the death triggers
41:38 I feel like this whole section does budget building dirty. It's not actually that hard to make a good commander deck for under $90 and with a bit of self restraint you can make good ones for $40 or $50. Heck you guys have even said that Mitch (commander's quarters) can school you with decks that cost a fraction of yours. I agree that we want all the value we can get from precons, but I hope the viewers don't get confused that the only way to play good magic is with the wallet.
I have a Queen Marchesa vampire deck that splashes angels in white (the theme is a Righteous War between angels and vampires with Marchea watching it happen - an dyes, the card, though meaningless in the deck, is in the deck, lol). There are at least 4 or 5 cards you named here I'd try to get into that deck for sure. I like this deck a lot better than the UW Spirit one also.

Arterial Alchemy is for sure going in my Akiri/Thrasios equipment deck. Pumps Akiri +3/+0 when it comes down and can give it +9/+0 all on it's own! Not to mention all the other metalcraft/number of equipment synergies...
Question on Markov enforcer. When you fight in your first main phase does Markov Enfor carry that damage from the fight through combat? Or play 2 vamps in the first main and fight twice taking 7 total damage across the 2 fights dies it die?
I run Vish Kal as my vampire commander because I was broke when the eminence commanders came out, and edgar is an unreasonable $100+ now. It's like zacama. They're priced to 3-4 times as much as they should be worth because they're popular, not because they're good. Mardu is terrible in commander if you don't have all the fast Mana like crypt and vault. This deck looks pretty nice though, and I probably have enough of the old red and black vampires lying around outside of my current vampire commander that I could build the rakdos version at least. It looks pretty nice though.
Just a heads up, the Kamber card shown here has a misprint. It should read "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies..." instead of "Whenever a creature dies"

I was disappointed by the lack of new Madness vampires early on in the video, and then I saw that they put a card with madness in there just to make it a demon instead. Why did they even bother making madness a tribal mechanic for an entire block just to only ever make 10 vampires that have madness
Strefan gives Markov enforcer indestructible if you cheat it out, so then second main make as many small vampires as you can and you almost have another one sided boardwipe
I just picked up this deck to actually be able to play with people. Long time MTG fan, recently getting back into the game and everyone only plays commander now. Any tips for someone completely new to the format?
Arterial Alchemy may make it into my Rograkh/Ardenn deck. I already make a mass of Treasures and equip them with Bludgeon Brawl. Then things like Bruenor or Golem Skin Gauntlet makes them slap. This alone in a 4 man pod is 3 mana for 6 power. Not the greatest rate but still very good.
I assume their sponsors don't want them to do that. But there's often someone in the comments quoting time codes, and they've said a few times that they don't intend to remove those comments.

There's no such thing as attacking another creature. As for fighting, you can fight any creature at all (as long as you can target it) - you can even do something as silly as having a creature fight itself.

"Partner with" means all of the things you described. The search effect applies regardless of whether they are your commander or not; it even applies if you're playing a format without a commander. But it's also considered a variant of the partner mechanic, and it means that you may have two commanders if they both have partner with each other. (Look up rule 702.124f in the comprehensive rules if you want the full details.) EDIT: note that the search effect still applies if you're running them as your commander. True, you won't find the partner in your library, but you can use the effect to shuffle your library (after failing to find) if you want to. Or you can target someone else so they may search (and shuffle even if they fail to find, but keep in mind that the effect is a 'may').

The deck overall is okay . But i like all those new vampire cards und blood token mechanic. I got a Olivia, mobalized for war/madness deck and now the new anje and all those cards are going to make me rebuild madness vampires

Will Imposing Grandeur give you more cards if you take control of an opponent's commander with higher mana value than yours? (Hijack, act of treason, besmirch, captivating crew, etc...) It's a commander and you control it... I think it does unless I'm missing something.
No, because it says "a commander they own". (On the other hand, your opponent can still count the commander, because it says "they own on the battlefield or in the command zone" - both of them are shared zones, and the effect doesn't talk about controlling the battlefield permanents, so all cards in those zones count.)
Hot Take: This deck leans too heavily on a mechanic that will likely not be seen again for a very long time, making about a third of the nonland cards in the deck care about blood, another third be your vampire payoffs, and the last third ramp and removal spells. As a mini-Kaalia, he is too powerful to be left alone, but too slow to really push me to want to play him.

IMPORTANT NOTE! Kamber's oracle text reads "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies," making the card SO much worse and harder to build around.
Need this to get more traction. The full art card shows the oracle text, so that means they forgot to update the text on the precon one.

This is exactly the commander deck I would have wanted when I started playing mtg. Started in Eldritch moon with a vampire deck.

Free drop the Markov Enforcer with Strefan, and after combat, as she's indestructible, play low CMC vampires so that she keeps fighting creatures

I think cards like Glass-cast Heart are great for the precon environment, giving the deck a way to close out the game in a stalemate.
You can see that every deck Commandzone is previeving has so mutch more reprint value than other decks. This is every time.
Buried Alive goes really well and somewhat on curve with that Waltz reanimation card. Can either value or combo off if you're lucky.

Strongly suggest you guys add chapters to your videos. I have seen other channels use them, and they are super handy.

I play Stinging Study in my Ur-Dragon deck. A 5 mana draw 9 at instant speed is pretty awesome. I might have to add Imposing Grandeur as well!

I think Impact Tremors would be at least decent in this deck, every time you bring out a creature, you'll have at least 3 Blood Tokens back

That was my first console, but I didn't get to play many games, so I've been wanting to go back and play some old games! What games have you played that you didn't get to play, and which ones have you enjoyed? Oh yes! I've been getting nostalgic for the Gamecube and Super Nintendo myself. Yes I love the rewarding feeling of being a challenge, and that's something that I miss! Most new games are so easy! It's so hard to find a good challenge!

silcon of opulense can have a infinite combo in a edgar comander deck to create a tokens and deals damage ! josh its very powerfoul card !

The deck overall is okay . But i like all those new vampire cards und blood token mechanic. I got a Olivia, mobalized for war/madness deck and now the new anje and all those cards are going to make me rebuild madness vampires

Look at Blood Tokens as giving your cards "cycling 1" and they start to feel a lot better.

Will Imposing Grandeur give you more cards if you take control of an opponent's commander with higher mana value than yours? (Hijack, act of treason, besmirch, captivating crew, etc...) It's a commander and you control it... I think it does unless I'm missing something.
No, because it says "a commander they own". (On the other hand, your opponent can still count the commander, because it says "they own on the battlefield or in the command zone" - both of them are shared zones, and the effect doesn't talk about controlling the battlefield permanents, so all cards in those zones count.)

Hot Take: This deck leans too heavily on a mechanic that will likely not be seen again for a very long time, making about a third of the nonland cards in the deck care about blood, another third be your vampire payoffs, and the last third ramp and removal spells.
As a mini-Kaalia, he is too powerful to be left alone, but too slow to really push me to want to play him.
