Worth bearing in mind a horse applying its full power will kill anybody instantly. Thankfully they are peaceful creatures and almost never use their true strength even when defending themselves. The horse who was frisky was fighting the awful hands of the guard. He puledl on the mouth which has a curb bit in it which hits the roof of the horse's mouth and is quite PAINFUL. They should use the snaffle bit which is part of that bridle set up. Sheesh.
They think it’s Disney World! Irish Draughts can weigh 1,300-1,600 lbs. Unbelievable ignorance from the tourists. Beautiful animals with a majestic history. Admire from afar.
Something is hurting or pinching the horse. Check under the saddle. Stone in the hoof? If just naughty then give him a good workout in the areana so he knows it is better to behave.
Everytime i watch one of these... the horse is in distress !!!! Something is wrong thats why the hell its acting like that!!!!!!!! Thats why he cant handle it & why the other guards are trying to help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think something is wrong with the horses back leg. You see it in the video, how it keeps it in the air. Thanks Buska, I like to see your videos about these veautyful horses and the royal guards. Respect from germany
That horse has just had enough. He obviously is really stressed. Taking him in was a good decision. A couple times he lifted his back leg like he might kick out, which would be very dangerous to anyone near him (not that one of those clueless, ignorant, nit wit tourists wouldn't deserve it).
The bit isn’t right in the horses’ mouth. When the bit isn’t in the mouth correctly, it’s difficult to control the animal. Horse doesn’t want to be in the box! See how happy the horse was to go back to his stall. Out front is not the time to train a horse. Good decision to take him back in. This is not my favorite guard, but he did an excellent job with the circumstance. Kudos!👍🌟🏆
Horses aren't dumb. If they do it once or twice, and they get taken off, then they will keep acting up to be taken off the box duty. Horses sometimes train the people, not the other way round!! But, with this being summer, a bee could have gotten into the box and stung it because it was calm before that. Just another scenario that could possibly happened. Especially with all the tourists, and their kids with sweets, I bet you see a few wasps and bees around there. I was there in the fall went i went to London, so i cant speak to if there are any stinging insects around the Horse Guards. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
I don’t own horses or have ridden them etc, but a large horse freaking is out. It would not be my first choice to stand right behind its backside like the kids in this vid. They seemed completely oblivious. I think a problem today is that humans with each generation consider themselves to be invincible and untouchable when it comes to animals - or cars. There is not a thought further than that.

I think the Police should be more alert to what's going on & be present on each side of the Guards. I don't understand why they are always having a leisrely chat inside the gates & just casually stroll over after any signs of trouble.
I’d love to know what the guards say about these people, when they’re off duty! ‘Did you see that stupid …. idiot grab the reins’ and much more 🤭
I think there's a problem with the bit which is why the horse is acting up.
"Horses know if they are nau-ee, they get to go bauk to the stables." I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at the accent. No offense here, ❤I love you guys. I'm from the US 🗽and love hearing y"all talk. I smashed the like button, subscribed and commented. Stay well, be safe and God Bless. 🤟💜
Just not his day, despite the calming attention from
the soldier in camo. Some days best to take them back in.
Thanks for the video.
Maybe Charles will end this archaic maltreatment of animals. No reason to subject these beautiful animals to polluted streets and stupid people.
Something is hurting or pinching the horse. Check under the saddle. Stone in the hoof? If just naughty then give him a good workout in the areana so he knows it is better to behave.
That horse could of kicked that child they need to put barriers up. Looks like that bit is to harsh for him
There was something wrong with his halter and bit that was bothering him.
There should be a barrier up near the road to keep tourists away from the guard and the horse, they can take photos from behind the barrier
Job well done by the guards. Amazing how people just stupidly stand in the way when they can see the horse is in distress!!!
Well you know live and learn. The horses tail was very vocal. And that one kick.
That horse has just had enough. He obviously is really stressed. Taking him in was a good decision. A couple times he lifted his back leg like he might kick out, which would be very dangerous to anyone near him (not that one of those clueless, ignorant, nit wit tourists wouldn't deserve it).
Could it be a touch of colic as she seems to be looking at her side and kicking up toward her belly Or is there a major issue with the tack?
I think colic too
I love this horse guard 😊😂
THIS IS ANIMAL ABUSE! NO THANKS TO BUSKA! WHAT PLEASURE IS THERE IN WATCHING A BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL HAVING TO STAND STILL FOR HOURS ON END.
They are there for one hour.
I love the videographer's commentary
poor horse DOES NOT WANT PIC TAKEN OR ANYTHING! he actually coomunicaes very well
Don’t the guards realise the horse has a crab fly up its leg, my horse does exactly the same thing when he has one. 🐴
Also a very difficult ride/situation for the guard. He could be injured.
