You say "write a poem" But how am I to write a poem If the poem doesn't want to show My poem is shy, as am I How about his feelings? No one cares? That says a lot about society.
The fact Gabbie Hanna wrote poetry books instead of a stand-up routine with one-liners (because a lot of those could be one liners in a stand-up show) either shows how misguided she became after rising to fame, or it shows that someone in the comedy scene really scared her or hurt her. To change from a person with a massive comedic presence to a whole different medium kinda shows something happened. Or maybe the comedy is the fact she is writing all of this ironically, because she knows how stupid it is. Maybe idk.
tbh i don't know if her poetry is ironic i feel like maybe she just wanted to expand into poetry cause poems can be comedy of some form as well like you said but it feels more like she's just venturing into regions and seeing how it goes

Does it happen with anyone else that you see a poem and your brain immediately starts scrutinizing everything about it and then you don't understand it deeply enough so your mind goes like wtf and then you read it normally and it turn out to be something along the lines of- "I am Joe, cause my parents named me so"

Out of all the writings in the book, the poems and the short essays, I only liked 27 total. I liked all the short essays because they showed a genuine vulnerability that I felt like didn’t try to be so “relatable” or “marketable”. I think for most of them, they were like almost heading for the direction of “good” in my opinion, but fell short but a line or two. I liked the illustrations.
