We are back at the mother Peruvian Apple Cactus in Mesa! In one of our first videos last November, we visited this cactus and got some great cuttings from it! We're back again for more and wanted to show you how she looks eight months later! We love these cacti because they produce an awesome little fruit that is similar to dragonfruit!

Got a cutting of an apple cactus about 4 months ago and now I want more. :) Wish I lived closer.

I know I already posted about this in your avocado video but I'm a HUGE fan of your guys' videos!...and I would seriously LOVE to buy a cutting or two(or more if your neighbours don't want the cactus -although you obviously need to leave plenty for the animals)... I'm in San Antonio TX and would pay whatever you ask....it's just so beautiful! Or(if you are even considering my offer) I could send you something as a trade from my garden which is mostly Succulents/cacti/and especially Agave's. I love agave's and have TONS from all the "pups" they create. They were one of the very few types of plants that could stay alive while I was bedridden for a few years from a spinal infection.
Anyway....I hope you guys are doing great. It's SO COOL to see a couple who love plants as much as you guys do.

I have a boatload of really big cuttings, scavenged from Hurricane Irma debris and taking nicely in sandy rich soil, 3 gallon pots. 2-3 nice pups popping on each. Given that dry season is just beginning in S. Florida, how often should I water and fertilize (Osmacote) up until May when rainy season begins again? I understand that these are more water-loving, tropical than my outdoor desert cacti, which I water once every 2-3 weeks in winter.
We basically get 0 inches of rain here and have no humidity, and we water about once a week in the summer, about once a month in the winter. Good luck! They're not too tricky :D

Im in az, and it is tough to find a quality apple cactus, as i have been looking long and hard to get a cutting from, and reluctant to order one from amazon or such, because you never know when shipping plants
When you see a good specimen in someone's yard, just knock on their door and ask for a cutting or a fruit! We've found that people tend to be really receptive to that! Just don't take without asking :) Good luck!

It is not peruvian apple cactus. It is cereus hildmanianus. Peruvian does not have thorns :)
