I agree ! My husband and I just celebrated our 27th Anniversary on the 20th of May! I think Respect is very important as well as communication! Sure we have disagreements however we will discuss it and work it out too. We both feel we can work through anything. I Love Johns attitude of never give up and don't be afraid to ask for help! Lots of hard days, but SO many more wonderful days! My husband is my best friend. I would rather spend time with him than any one else in the world. Congratulations on your anniversary. John is so right...marriage is hard work sometimes but so very worth the effort. Those who aren't willing to go the distance should make that decision BEFORE saying "I do". We are celebrating our 33rd anniversary this August. Things have not always been easy. But the commitment we made on day 1 was that we would stick it out no matter what. Walking away was never an option. I wouldn't want to walk this road beside anyone else. He was a keeper when we started this life together and he is still a keeper today. I pray you both will reach and exceed the years your grandparents have been blessed to be together, should the Lord tarry. (If the look John gives you never dims, I'd say you have a great shot at it! That is the look I still see in my dear hubby's eyes every time he looks at me!)

Happy Anniversary! My husband and I been married for 16 years! Totally know it was God who brought us together, but that doesn't mean it's been a cake walk. Definitely need to continue to have God be the center of our marriage and fight for it. Giving up on each other would be an easy out.

I am not married, but I am very thankful that my parents were married 63 yrs when mom died; her parents - 59 yrs, dad's parents - 56 yrs. I also have 3 sets of friends who have been married over 40 yrs each. That's quite an accomplishment in today's world.

We are married 9 years this June! I love what John says let’s save our marriages! Let’s keep the family unit together! Our little girls and boys need mom and daddy both so much! Some days marriage isn’t fun some days the butterflies are dead for a solid 4 months but some days they are ten times stronger, fight for the promise you made on that wedding day! Obviously if there’s danger get help! I loveee LOVE! Happy anniversary.

We married very young and had our 3 amazing kids right away, so we actually grew up together with our kids lol. But we have always had our love which is worth fighting for as you said John. We are the only ones left of ALL of our friends who are still married. And when we are asked how we make it work we always say, communicate and remember what you fell in love with about each other. We will be celebrating 8 yrs in November and we have definitely had our moments. I am stubborn though I will not give up on him but it's been hard. God has definitely gotten us through some tough times and I thank him.

Amen John. We have two couples in our Church recently that were both ready to call it quits "But God". I prayed and told Satan he could not have these families, it's not God's will for families to be divided. They are both working on their marriages. They sought help.

Congratulations ya'all! May God bless ya'all and give you many more happy years together. My 32nd Anniversary was the 26th, we are only married because I have chosen to stay married. My husband left with a mutual friend of ours after 30 years of marriage. I was completely shocked, I feel that I said my vows first to God then to him. He left and buried his dad on the same day. He also had spent intimate time with me 2 days before he left. I have been chronically ill for over 20 years. He moved into the house he grew up in and redid our home, which we are selling privately to our sons. I know he was my soulmate, we would think of things almost at same time. My sons and daughter in love, now take care of me and we live together. I don't want to feel like such a failure. I was with him since I was 17. I married him one weekend and graduated from high school the next weekend. I am just sharing this to show that even though I wanted to stay married it made no difference. He wouldn't even discuss counciling. He was already in love with her when he left. I will not date, especially after finding out that my blood vessels in my brain are dying. When my health gets too bad I will be put in a facility of some kind. I wanted to be married forever but I wasn't given a choice. He told me that he hadn't been happy for five years. Which he failed to ever tell me that. Sorry for the novel. I pray for all marriages to succeed. God bless ya'all! I only overshared because of John saying to fight for your marriage.

My husband and I have been married for 32yrs been together 35yrs total and we’ve never ever thought about separating or getting a divorce both are out of the question.... People today don’t take their marriage or their vows serious, that’s one thing we’ve both have taken serious is our Vows..We’ve been each other’s safe place, best friend and ride or die and most of all we’ve been a team. Our children knew this growing up, we set an example before them. God comes first then your husband or wife .... Allyssa you John are a great team you two really have impressed me by the way you all handle things and how you raise your girls. When I see them it’s like looking at mini John and mini Allyssa..I just love your channel it’s the best I always look forward to watching you guys... Your girls are so precious and so pretty.,..
