Pretty lucky with the orientation of your snap ring holes. Mine are located at like 10 and 11 o'clock. I'm probably going to need to have the car on a lift with get in there with the pliers or get a special pair of pliers with extra long ends.
Just use a 90 degree pic tool and turn it until it’s better suited for access.
Christopher Ayres I tried for about an hour yesterday with the car jacked up and the wheel removed. The top of the resonator cap is too tall for the 90 degree clips to reach the holes and trying to get at it from the other side seems physically impossible without the car lifted up.
Following up for anyone else that's struggling with this. I was able to use some WD40 and one half of the circclip pliers (a strong skinny pick would also work) to rotate the snap ring and get better access. Then a pair of 45 degree circlip pliers did the trick!
To add. Buy good snap ring pliers. The Autozone or Advanced Auto brand may work for you but take twice as long and are twice as frustrating as a solid pair of even craftsman or channel lock brands.
Hi Chris ... Does the RS get this whistling phenomenon after the high flow air filter and induction pipe gets installed? Our RS doesn't have any whistling noises that are noticed in it's current stock form. Will that change if we fit the filter/induction pipe in the future?
Alan Xr its more of a honing noise. I don't know who started the whistle noise. It's a low frequency hone.
Hi Chris, enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming.You mentioned that you have the car on ramps. I bought ramps to do some work on my RS but had to return them. The car was too low to mount the ramps. What ramps are you using to mount your RS?

Doesn't I just sound cleaner? A lot less mixes of noise. I've got an oil baffle coming. Under pipes.

I need to do this myself.. My sound suppression chamber is just sitting in the garage waiting to get installed. FYI, your title is really bugging me.. I think you want it to say "HEAR" the difference :)

hey Chris, I've been trying for hours to get the c clip off the sound suppressor chamber. how did you get your hands in there and able to remove the clip? any advice would really help, I'm going crazy...
+Patrick Corrigan Pat, are you using straight or outward circ clup pliers? The should be trying to pull open if used correct. I found that removing the front wheel made the access easy. You want to make sure you get one plier prong in the hole of the clip, then while keeping that set maneuver the other into a he other hole than compress the pliers which should widen them at the clip opening up the clip. All fails; get a pic tool in there and stretch the clip a little bit by moving it in and out in its guide. It's pretty stuck from the factory but if you can move the clip around the ssc to loosen it up it becomes easier to grasp both sides of the clip.

+Patrick Corrigan as soon as you can rotate the clip a lot of tension comes off it. Also I'm assuming your using cheaper circ-clip pliers. A good pair will make the job a bit more easy. Usually ones that are not rotatable.
