    This is the best version of Lagrima I've ever heard. Truly evokes the emotion of grief, longing and sorrow, the heaving, sighing, straining to breathe through tears. Bravo.

      @SvenP 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobMacKillop1 i guess its all subjective, and saying something is superior doesnt really make sense. just to me, i would much rather listen to the warm nice tone of fingers than nails.
      and considering how annoying some academics are about the nail necessity, makes me kinda wanna push back a little, but obv everyone should have their unique style, else there is no point in having more than one classical guitar player in the world.

      smoothness is my main guess.
      I just had a tough lesson where I was told to find my own fingerings for the sake of smoothness, and I came to a similar conclusion. it's a jarring shift to go from the 5th to 1st position in the duration of an eighth note.

      I always do. If I let the music breathe, then we can all relax, performer and listener.

    Tarrega would probably envy that guitar.

    Hi, I'm currently studying classical guitar and various tarrega prices such as Gran vals, endecha, and Val's en re, I have studied on my own for a long time now and have actually gotten quite an eye for the guitar having learned endecha simply by watching someone play it through a process of mimickry. I am currently learning to read music but a teacher is an essential for this style of music I believe. If you wouldn't mind checking out my channel in the future I will post videos of these and other original melodies and I would love some constructive criticism on them, beautifully played by the way

    Is that a 4/4 guitar?

    • @RobMacKillop1
      @RobMacKillop1  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. 65cms string length. The body is a copy of a Manuel Ramirez, who copies Torres, so it's a little bit smaller and narrower than some guitars, but not much.

      Worth a try. My advice is to tune your guitar lower initially - you can tune it back up later - maybe as much as a tone. The lower tension will help your finger pads get used to their new role. Don't just do your normal technique, play slower for a while, and dig in to the string more. It's all about touch and sensitivity. Be patient. It took me six months before I was happy. That was 32 years ago - I've never looked back.
