23 year honda mastertec here- I recc your channel to every pilot/Ridgeline owner who asks me about bigger tires and lift and adventure! Great Work! I am always updating the "version" of my rig too. always trying and changing things to get it dialed in right!
If you’re looking for an aggressive tire that’s a step down from a mud terrain, yet more than an all terrain, I’d recommend the Kenda Klever RT. I have them on my 4Runner and I’ve been very impressed with how quiet and well mannered they’ve been on the road.
I've been waiting for the day that you finally upgrade the rear springs. I know you had your doubts about doing this because you liked the soft ride. But going with fresh springs is the better way to go. I'm digging the look now. The stance looks spot on. I have a question though. Have you thought about going with a taller progressive rate spring and ditching the make-shift spacers all together?
Removing the spacers could be nice, but for now it would have been difficult to get the height just right. So far the new springs have given it just the right amount of lift.
@@GotterAdventure I have with the same springs that you went with. But I have 2 inch spacers. I too love the stance, but I can't help but wonder if we are giving up any suspension travel distance because of the spacers. Oh, and with these springs, you shouldn't need the air spring helpers unless you're pulling a really tongue heavy trailer.
Hi, I installed Moog 81649 rear springs and now I feel like the SUV is higher in the rear and lower in the front. I am using Kumho AT51 235/70R16 A/T tires. How can I make the SUV sit flush between the rear and the front have the high seam?
I like my vehicles to sit higher in the rear unloaded. If you installed the springs based on my videos, you can see that My Pilot has a forward rake. If you want it to sit level you can either lift the front or install springs that have the same specs as oem in the rear. The new springs should settle a bit as well.
Hey Aaron, I have the same springs and air springs in mine. I had the same issue with one of my airsprings being folded. I think I used some pieces of wood to apply pressure next to where the crease starts and then I would add 30-40psi to try and pop the crease out. I would then let air out and then keep repeating the steps until it was closer to being gone. I almost got rid of the crease and gave up for awhile...it eventually worked its way out driving around having the suspension cycle up and down. When will your video about the new front struts come out? Looking forward to that one.
I have been working with Flatout hoping they would redeem themselves. As of now, I like the lack of a spring perch, and adjustability, ease of install/ removal, reboud adjustement... etc I don't like the horrible sound over high speed potholes!
I have a 2inch lift on my rear but i kinda want 1and a half more couldnt i just get another lift spacer and stack it on top of the 2 inch spacer i have now
What's the pros/cons with the Moog versus the factory springs? Thinking of getting the Moog for my 05 mdx & was wondering about ride quality. Cool looking pilot
Any update on the air springs? I’ve got the MOOG springs but have been wanting to add air springs in the rear. I’ve found that the car squats a bit when fully loaded for camping. Thanks!
@@jmo2321 the air springs are great, but the fittings can be finicky if you are in mud a lot. You just have to use soap and water to find the leaking connections every once in a while. I rigged up a small pump for onboard inflation.
@@GotterAdventurethanks, might pull the trigger on them. Also what rear shocks and front struts are you running? Currently on KYB but I’m thinking the washboards have finally killed one or two of them.
@@kristopherharris6286 I believe the instructions called for cutting it off flat. I lost the threads to the bump stop after I removed them so I installed a pvc cap upside-down as a solid surface for the air spring.
The subframe saddles have held up really well through a ton of offroad abuse. The failure mode for that repair is increased sagging. As far as time and money, to each his own. I enjoy wheeling this momvan.

Thanks! I have the Pilot in the alignment shop right now. It always feels like a medical appointment. LOL

For the FWD Honda Pilot its model MOOG 81651 Coil Spring
Really like the look. Nice job, thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback!

@@Sandmansa The only thing we would lose in travel is compression. It my rear compressed any more my tires would be in the body :)
Jack of all trades but master of none, is always better than master of one.
That is true!
The fact the Honda engineers put a factory locking diff on the Pilot was such a legit move. I have used it many times to get out of trouble.
@@ColoradoStreamingused that on my 05 mdx as well, comes in handy

That is what I did :) You may want to weld them together though
How's the milage
Buenos días desde cd Juárez, me podrías decir que medida de llanta y rin trae la honda pilot, se lo agradecería mucho,
Es para la mía que es 2006.

The Moog 81649 springs I selected are designed to carry more weight than factory. My ride quality is still good.

What coil insulators did you use? I’m wanting to replace mine but not sure of the fitment. Would OEM ones fit them?
I don't have any coil insulators installed
Does the helper bag push on the bump stop
I have removed my bump stop, but yes it pushes into that area.
@@GotterAdventure did you remove the bump stop for air spring fitment or for more compression travel?

Where did you get those rock sliders? Or are they custom?
They are custom. Here is the video th-cam.com/video/MRxQEnvGJ0E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WlzZkaNPXAiEuhyi
What happened to the flatout struts? Are they shite?
I don't think they are worth it at this point.
What kind of lift kit would you recommend? I'm looking to lift mine 3-4 inches. Super cool rig!
I would look at the 3" HRG ultimate kit.
This makes no sense to me. Putting this kind of time and money into it while keeping that hacked up subframe mount.

The failure mode is the subframe not being connected to the body of the vehicle.
@SamRFixes it would still be connected because there are 4 bolts.
Do you know why it has 4 bolts holding it in?
