Have done a few of these and your numbers are close to what I do them except I run my exhaust right around 98 with a slightly curved exhaust roof and you can run the squish safely at 17 though. My personal one is tight with anout 15 thou, and muffler is damn close I take the whole raised section out. Now before anyone goes scrutinizing how I do mine may not work for 1 saws type of porting but does for another. Friend of mine runs a stock 4 port 026 muffler and his ported 026 runs great, I tried with mine and runs like a bag of you know what until I opened it up like mentioned above. Hopefully your happy with it. Love those little saws
Heck yea man!!! Every builder does their own little swag, this one turned out great after the seals were installed, and the owner is very happy and pleased with it. 👍🏻
@dubbssawshop I have a video dated back in the 2 year mark, if you want to see something dumb about 026 take a jump over.... you'll find it pretty quick
@@dubbssawshop well I can definitely tell you that in my Now almost like Super Hero type Badazz Awesome chainsaw builder experience!!!! Obviously, since I’ve got a good two or three under my belt that I’m pretty sure I’m awesome???? Definitely one of the very best Chainsaw builders in Eagleville Pa… or, maybe for legal reasons I could probably say that until my SWEETHEART PUTS ONE TOGETHER…. I’m still top dog in my neighborhood!!!!! LMFFAO! I’ve had a pretty much perfect recipe and I have hit the marks and it’s been pretty good but I’ve missed several different marks by a couple degrees and got stupid lucky with everything just being a fantastic little runner! See I have had this little crazy thing for 15 years now about the Husqvarna 350’s into a 353xp instead of the 346 because I’m not a fan of the super high rpm’s and when I wanted to check out the Stihl 50 type CC’s saw so I could compare I grabbed a half dozen broken 028’s and before I could build the second one I built a 026 because I got a fellow tree removal company owner buddy who is just a 026 fanatic and he doesn’t have any other saw’s for the chipper saw’s so I was building him one from the half dozen he had dropped off and I got a second one going and I quickly saw that my 346xp-353xp comparison saw’s was a 026 not a 28…. That flat intake blockage in the 24? 26 for sure 34? 36 even??? They blocked up the entire intake trying to create a vortex or right spinning tornado inn in the topend’s of those saw’s in that era!!! Just silly but it was a concept that they had tried to develop…. Obviously hindsight is 20-20 but that’s what they thought was happening…. I think I use the aftermarket husky 350 intake boot or one of the 50-60 husky parts and got the round boots…. I cut the flat area out of the Farmertec 026 rubber boot and did some 1184 repair work on one intake to remove that huge blockage right at the start…. You are automatically going to get at least 25-30% more power just getting your blockage removed…. I’m still really interested and need to get lot’s more practice with the finger porting deal… on my little 350-353’s I just grind out the entire division and everything that is in my way to one huge port on both sides and use the next size up Hyway hls carb the 357-359…. So it’s more fuel better torque and I’ve never liked going past 12k if they have chain speed of 10k maybe 10,500-11k max… I’ve found saying as rich as I can and 32:1 or 36:1… let’s me get the torque and they can’t get insanity sabotaged by walking around with them and just pinning them up into stupidity rpm’s and not even cutting wood just want to make them rev… two guy’s who help out my great older buddy … both do that crap of walking around with a saw and just pinning it up into the stratosphere!!!! I didn’t say anything for my first couple weeks and then I had a couple different discussions about why it’s not a good idea to free-rev an engine up there into outer space without any load on the engine or without a decent load against the crank shaft so that piston isn’t slapping around and your bearing races have a little torque load on them… when they don’t they are running a little wild and they will wobble and they can snap around a little bit more so it’s just not a smooth event… piston’s slapping around in the bore… it’s not good for the engine so it’s just not to be done!!! Period!!! I’ve tried to be less aggressive and I’m trying to be a little nicer in my communication with other people…. But I’m just not going to allow that saw abuse around me so know I’ll grab a chunk of firewood and send it right towards the chest or back area’s… I’m not sending the head shots yet!!! But it’s coming!!! After I tell you that you are hurting my saw engine’s with that stupid reving them up… and you better freaking have them good and warm before I hear anything reving up…. I’ll definitely hit you with a chunk of wood and I’ll grab you up if you don’t respect our equipment on a job site. Like guy’s who walk on my ropes or don’t just pull it up and start loops or pull it over into a pile…. I don’t care if it’s old or new equipment either… I have guy’s make crack’s about my old age stuff like a 3/4” green runner bullrope I’ve had a long time!!! My buddy was remembering that he bought his new when I did and mine still looks good…. Like hey, that rope is like 20 years old… we had that in 2008 when we did such and such jobs together didn’t we? Shits pretty old man you should have replaced that one ten years ago??? And I said….”why?” Mine’s still in great condition… I don’t ever overload that one and it’s always In it’s canvas bag so it’s not getting chafing…. Always use a mechanical device to not allow it to be too tightly crimped or a chafing situation? Good canvas bags to protect the ropes from the UV and all unnecessary or basically all those sharp edges and contact situations that cause premature damage and ware! I’m older so I’m old school and I do a lot of rigging with my ropes and I need to know that I have a good rope. Love to remove those super crispy brittle and dry strips of death… where you pull out of two good adjacent tops and go about 1/2 way up the crispy critters and blow them over into a downed dust cloud of dry rot! LMFFAO!!! People are just hilarious when they scream out loud… when you are just swinging back and forth in the air because the dead tree just totally exploded and blew apart underneath you!!! LMFFAO!! Sometimes I’ll do some hooping and hollering to play it up that it was so so scary!!! LMFFAO !!! I’ve been using a lot of extra rigging lines to make the tree’s slide into the chipper or the trailer or zip lining material out of the back yard out into the front driveway or streets so no human hands are allowed to touch the wood! LMFFAO! Super lazy equals super efficient! LMFFAO!!!!😂😂😂😂
@@dubbssawshop I just wish I had a little cheap dyno that would show me a little bit of detail about how my making my exhaust a 100 instead of a 102-104 would translate so I could have a real measurement I’ve been looking at doing a little wheel with a hydraulic pump and just being able to use the psi on a simple gauge possibly to show my power change… don’t need a super detailed report but seeing it being a 105 psi instead of 100psi would prove it stronger!!! Know what I mean???? I could also use a couple saw’s that have been on the dyno and the horse power is known roughly or about to make some reference marks… that is 5,6,7,8,9,10 horsepower so it’s just a little bit more accurate system of measurement and not really understanding how the dyno systems for the cart racing engine’s work it would be interesting to see how just having a spring and a couple washers as a pressure break on a wheel drive rim drivers system would work out with a little bit of a clutch drum system and it’s lifting up a little weight or something???? I just need a little dyno or a little more accurate way to see if what I just changed was positive or negative change??? Know what I’m saying! Feels good and strong is all I can really tell but you have to make a huge difference with that to know you have made it different!!!??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@DaveyBlue32 That would be a nice tool to have laying around. I'm thinking of sending a few to Dyno Joe to see where they land. Just for my curiosity.

Should be a strong worksaw.

Stihl knew back then front cover exit exhaust made power.. OSHA came along and ruined that because of noise levels.
