@Chadi Do you think that excessive grip fighting, and grip breaking shouldn't be allowed in the sport of Judo? This would bring back old judo where defense is mainly through posture.
It is somewhat unfair to sample "modern judo" with Maruyama uchimata. There is literally one guy on the planet capable of such unreal execution. Looks like a scene in a staged super hero movie. And he does that to top ranking olympic level opponents, that get shooted up in the air like in a japanese manga cartoon. Standard modern judokas, even good ones, are very far from such a devastating effectiveness...
@@scarred10 simply not true. We're in open devolution in almost every domain. Put a modern judoka in a contest of the seventies/eighties, with the old rules, he would be obliterated, unless is one of the very few like Maruyama. There are no modern boxers like Marciano, Tyson or Leonard. Watch the clips.

All the manifestations of judo are a great contribution, even today's Olympics. Even as Shia has taken over, and many decades have passed, the original art of self defense, martial art judo has disappeared in many parts of the world; but it's very difficult to fight the winds of time.
you are not saying it is bad, I am! I mean it is so water down now and against what judo supposed to be, it was like Kano snsei said, it is just 2 bulls locking horns...and he was talking about 50s Judo, imagine what Kano sensei would say now

'to fight'?
“Shia”? Like in Islam? I’m confused please explain.
